I make my spoons with a hole at bottom of handle and load the spoon on a stand with nicrom wire and fire them hanging. Placing a cookie underneath can help if any drips occur.
Enjoyed watching your technique for making spoons.I've been experimenting with making a small hole in the handle to hang in the kiln so the front and back can be glazed. I'm still experimenting with the hole technique in the handle. Love the idea of making a ceramic piece with a hole. Brilliant! Excellent demo!
Oh my goodness, I've been subscribed to you for just a little while and I was researching how to make a ceramic handle for a spoon and there you are popped up! And then I saw this was 3 years old, hahaha, that's so great!
wouldn't there be a way to hang the spoon up while it's in the kiln? like making a hole in the spoon handle and hanging it up like laundry on something?
I’m disappointed that we didn’t get to see you fire the spoons. Can you put under glaze on the top in the holder & then flip it upside down to get under glaze on the stem? I feel like there’s got to be a way to glaze the entire project 🧐
I am working on wood covered in canvas. I have a video on how I make the board here: ruclips.net/video/ttePyXBvCTI/видео.html But you can work on whatever surface that works for you.
@@PotterytothePeople not in the many videos I've watched. They do not spread their fingers as they roll. They roll until it gets flat, then turn it and tap it to fix it, and roll again. Another good technique I've come across, is to give the coil a little twist when it starts to go out of round, then resume rolling - and it will go round again.

I would love a break down on how to fire and proper cones and such? I have a kiln but I have no idea what to do? Please consider! Loving your videos!
Would have loved to see the end result in its usable form.
Would love to learn more about glazing/painting
I am working on a video about this now! Stay tuned! :D
Very helpful can’t wait to show you my spoon!🥰
Please do!
loved watching this, def want to try making a spoon!
Perfect...thanks for demo. Just what I needed.
You're welcome!
New subscriber, love your videos! I'd love to see some slab/coil built vases/vessel forms!

Absolutely! That is a good idea.
Do you have a wheel instruction for beginners? clock wise or cc? standing or sitting?

Qual é a temperatura da sua argila, por favor? Seu trabalho é lindo!!
Hi there! What kind of surface are you using to work on? Is it wood or canvas? Whatever raw wood will do the job of not? thank you

@@PotterytothePeople Thank you 🙏🏻
Do I need to bisque fire the spoon holder first or can I make it and just fire it all in the glaze fire at the same time?
you can fire it at the same time ☺️ no need to bisque, just make sure its dry!
Awesome,😍💫 thank you so much👍🏻👏
This is how my brother figured out how to roll a coil when we were little. First time I see a potter doing it!
I thought all potters do it this way?!?

How about a clay pipe?
What material is she using to roll out & work her clay?
If you're talking about the board she's rolling on It's a wooden board with canvas stretched over it.
Thank you so much!
So do u have kiln at home? How do you manage the toxic gas out of the kiln??
I have a kiln at my studio. We only fire at nighttime so no one is working in the studio while it fires.
Obrigada por compartilhar
