Kirk, I subscribed when I saw what an awesome Skywagon driver you were. Now with my Skywagon (0-550 Texas Skyway, Sportsman, VGs, Snider speed kit) which I bought in July 2020 and converted interior to an Alaskan utility interior, I learned so much from you. Thank you. And now I can't wait to see how you hone your skills to fly this EX-3 in areas where you would have had trouble getting the Skywagon in so I am very interested to hear your thoughts. My wife and I just bought 61 acres in southern Illinois with a possible airstrip area that's would be a little sketchy to get my Skywagon in so I may follow your lead and trade my Skywagon in on an FX-3. I watched all of your EX-3 build videos and want to congratulate you on a great job! I must admit that as much of an aviation enthusiast as I am, I mostly enjoyed watching your beautiful family get involved. May God continue to bless you and your wonderful family. He certainly blessed you in so many ways. God's Tailwinds, Kevin Voges
Fantastic job, Kirk! Completing this in just 8 months is just amazing! I started mine 3 months after you, but in no way, I will have finished in 3 months from now! Your videos are very useful to me. I watch them several time each and it helps me so much. Thank you, Kirk. And take the time now to enjoyed flying your beautiful plane with your family!
Very nice job, Kirk, I have been watching you fly over my house several times. I will have to stop in and meet you in person when I get the chance. Ask Terry how many gallons of MEK he wants... never heard back from him. I think I have a NIB R/C copy of your plane at my Dad's place.
Yeah it came together pretty well. I had everyone doubt me that I would get it done by summer. Average 5-6 hrs every other night for 6 months.. I’d say most of the time was spent trying to understand the instructions and learning techniques/tools. The next one would take me half the time 👍. Other than paint and the odd hand here and there to move things or hold something I did it all by myself. Check out the time lapses. I was lucky to have a mentor to teach me some valuable lessons and ask questions, but this bird is all me. And I’m proud to say quality wise it’s as nice as any out there. 🙏
Congratulations to the proud Owner. You have done a fantastic and impressive job to build this nice Aeroplane. Wish you always save flights and have fun !!!
Even though I'm probably at least 12-15 years from even thinking about buying one this makes me so excited... Congratulations on finishing a beautiful plane... I have followed this series very close and it is the best build walk through I've seen
Very impressive build and airplane! You should be very proud. I hope to be following in your footprints in a few years. Thanks for sharing the journey.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Your airplane looks spectacular in the video and I can imagine it’s even more impressive in person. Sincerely appreciate your generosity in sharing this build for others to follow, not only for pure entertainment but to learn from your experience. Fantastic accomplishment!!
It looks amazing, even though Emmy didn't get her lightning bolts. It's been cool to watch your content and editing improve over the progress of the build as well. I think you hit a homerun and can't wait to see you fly it to all the places you took the wagon, and more.
Congrats to this big milestone. Good to see how fast you can put them together if you put the hours in. I'm getting my first shipment from CubCrafters end of the year most likely. Can't wait to get started.
Great build, well done!! Nice fit, finish, avionics, and I love the paint. I am curious your comparison of this beautiful new bird to the Skywagon. Thank you for sharing!
Great job Kirk. Very motivating to watch you build this plane; helps keep my dream alive to build an EX2, or 3 if the money is there lol. What’s your full time job? Just curious.
@@MrAaronroy I want to say it’s a delfeet urethane. I would contact cub crafters. They told me the spec to use. It wasn’t common at the local auto body supply. The silver is Polytone
Beautiful airplane ! What a feeling to fly something you built yourself... Congratulations !
Thank you! Yes it’s a fantastic experience

I have never seen a Carbon Cub built that fast before. You guys must have been working on it full-time.

Thanks! different machines for different things. Hard to beat a wagon for all around flying. Hard to beat a cub for small spots.
AWESOME ... guess i have a new series to catch up watching
Nice job Kirk! She’s beautiful! Are you going to be filming your flights for RUclips?
Thanks! Yeah I probably will… it’s been a blast to fly. Just hasn’t been a priority lately.

Thanks! Real Estate and seasonal Float Plane Pilot
@@klpilot that probably keeps things interesting. Best of luck with the plane. I’m sure it will be a blast!
I was about to purchase a kit and they just raised the prices by a substantial amount.
Very nice build! Congratulations. Where did you get those map pockets inside.? I need some for my CC.
Thanks. I got these off Amazon. Just search map pockets
Great job mate! It looks like you’ve done a fantastic job!!
What colour blue did you use?
Thanks! I can’t remember the name. It’s PPG...
@@klpilot that’s not a problem at all! Do you remember what PPG product you used?

Sweet!!!
Who raised you? They deserve a medal for a job well done.
Thanks!
Time for some STOL !
Wow what a beautiful plane man.
Is it still classified "lite sport?"
Thanks. No. This is full 1865 lbs experimental home built. When you first order and certify is when you designate
Okay got ya.
Thanks for the quick response
