This is a perfect example of RUclips how it was intended: a platform for people to show bits of their life to entertain others. And boy was this entertaining to watch, with the scenery, camera angles and soothing sound of the engine!
Wow this was better than meditation at the end of a busy day. I fantasized about a little campfire and a comfy tent set up on that sand bar, getting away from it all.
before I looked at the description. my 1st guess was Washington state. im in Oregon. a gorgeous lake indeed. what a beautiful place to fly into. high def vid too. nice work.
What an amazing family outing….so cool..reminds me of when my mom and dad and I would fly up to northern Ontario in our Bonanza and land in a little grass strip..to spend a week at a fishing camp….awesome vid…😀.
great video, reminds me of my days back in the 60's flying out of Cordova Ak. on Eake where I worked for 4years with Cordova Airlines bush division... thanks , and good job with the airplane she is beautiful!!!! Smitty
Holy sh!t. Mission ready aircraft and pilot. That entire flight was a very well flown approach to that nestled body of water. Expertly executed utilizing every natural feature of the landscape. Wow.
That was amazing! What a beautiful bird.Gotta love modern film technology, incredible shots. I was wondering about the airport. Looks familiar to me, can't place it though. I always love it when you post to your channel, I always know it's going to blow my mind. Thanks.
The approach allows for a go around. If you come in the other way your only option is to land. If the wind is favoring a landing towards the mountain then there’s also a lot of wind driving down onto the lake and not worth the risks. There’s been a few accidents there unfortunately
Great video, I was waiting to see that Carbon Cub swoop into the picture LOL The 206 looks absolutely beautiful. Great Family plane, Beautiful Family.. Thanks for sharing
Decades of hard work. Starting with being a laborer, then swinging a hammer as a carpenter and pouring concrete. Then building homes and brokering real estate which I now have spent over 20 years doing. I’m also a commercial floatplane pilot and airline pilot. Also buying and fixing up multiple airplanes then selling them over the past 15 years. I traded for this project with a kit airplane I built myself. Then restored this one. Nothing but hard work and determination.
EXCELLENT WOW I never seen Video like this in all RUclips . Every corner and angle every view wow.. You know how to make a video like a very very professional way. Peoples here don't know what exactly they're doing in the name of making some videos . No knowledge about it and how to hold the camera in there hands..lol
Can you confirm that you approached and went to the other end of the lake so you would have a go around option? If you approached from outside in, it looked like you would have been flying into a box with little to no room to go around.
I’m an old bush pilot from northern Canada. Beavers, otters, B-18 and the like. My memories are in black and white, your videos turn those memories into full colour. Thank you.
I have a paracord lanyard on my Garmin Mini InReach emergency locator and wear it around my neck while flying over water and over inhospitable terrain. If injured during a crash and have to do a rapid egress from the aircraft you want that critically important device secured to you, not the aircraft. Look for the special emergency paracord that has fire-sustaining strands inside the braided cord, great fire starting material if you need it.
I’ve been severely injured in extremely inhospitable remote backcountry. Therefore I wear mine(among other items) on my belt when I’m out of civilization.
Yes on the engine. Stock airplane besides VG’s and propeller. We lost some weight with the original avionics replaced and vacuum system removed. The floats are Wipline 3730’s.
I've had a nervous departure in a Super Cub and it wasn't even that bad of a day, just the wind coming up from the valley and rolling over the lip stopped our climb for a scary moment right before clearing the trees.
This is a perfect example of RUclips how it was intended: a platform for people to show bits of their life to entertain others. And boy was this entertaining to watch, with the scenery, camera angles and soothing sound of the engine!
Thank you 🙏
This is what I imagine heaven is like. Thank you for sharing this amazing video with the world. You deserve an award.
Thank you 🙏
I was thinking similar it is def Gods mighty work here
Fun watching this.I worked at Cessna in late 1978 installing wings on the 206,207 and 210 aircraft. These were my favorites.
Off memory this is a June 1979 completion date. Not sure of the process but maybe you worked on mine…
Peak retirement activity😉...this is paradise. Although doing it even before retirement is even better!!
Wow this was better than meditation at the end of a busy day. I fantasized about a little campfire and a comfy tent set up on that sand bar, getting away from it all.
Frankly this was a buttery landing in a beautiful airplane great job

Amazing video and beautiful plane. How the scale of the world changes as you do your approach. The lake goes from small to large.
Thank you. Yeah it’s down there in a “hole” The wide angle go pro also makes it look larger when up close.
Fantastic . . . I've always wondered what that would be like, thanks for showing me.
Thank you. You’re welcome
Great Video, gorgeous scenery and exceptional pilot skill! Wow across the board.

Awesome video! I love going in there with my 182
What an amazing approach! Assume wind is why?

What do you do to be able to afford such fun airplane projects? Stunning plane and lake. Thank you

Yes, that’s why we fly this approach this way

Fantastic. I’m glad to hear it. I also fly turbine Otters and piston beavers for a commercial operation 👍
Nice video. Could you please post lake’s coordinates? I’d like to visit on my sim 😊
Thank you 47°52'13"N 121°35'11"W
You found a parking spot! That's moe than half the battle.

Is that the TSIO520M on Aerocet floats? What other mods? I only see VG's.
Yes on the engine. Stock airplane besides VG’s and propeller. We lost some weight with the original avionics replaced and vacuum system removed. The floats are Wipline 3730’s.
Heck, I'd fly with you!
superb
Thank you
Did that right gear fully retract?
Absolutely. The tire sticks out the front amphibious floats
@@klpilotah that’s very interesting, I’m thinking about getting my float rating sometime in the future.
awesome
👍👍👍
Why are the wheels in the water?
That’s the retracted position. Watch the ramping video to see how they work 👍
how it's possible that there was snow but were you wearing summer clothing?
Still pictures were from late last summer
😅 by the way i like a lot this videos

Canadian genes 🤣
I like it , no music

What airport is that?
Arlington Municipal in Arlington, WA
Where are you located???
What lake is this in Washington? EDIT: a little research and I found Lake Isabel.
Did you sell the cub?
Arlington, Wa
Butter
mano yo quiero uno de eso cuanto sale enviarlo a pdu
I would be worried sh**less some rock near the surface would wipe out those pontoons.
It takes a careful and thorough survey and constant analysis and adjustments
I wonder if any fish will take after all that noise and wave making 🐸
Fish is fantastic on these lakes. They come any try and bite your toes
Absolutely wonderful! Happy to have discovered your channel! Pass by mine too if you want to see some seaplane action in Italy and Europe
Cool! Thank you will do
looking good
thanks🥂

Ok, but can I take a nap later?
You know your 206…
It’s illegal to land in most mountain lakes
Not a small lake, though.
Depending on the DA and load plus the terrain/trees on the far end… and wind it can get pretty small.
I've had a nervous departure in a Super Cub and it wasn't even that bad of a day, just the wind coming up from the valley and rolling over the lip stopped our climb for a scary moment right before clearing the trees.
@Kirk LeDoux, Kirk, where is this lake, located, so I can fly it in MSFS 2020, Perhaps the longitude and latitude, please? Thanks, in advance.
47°52'13"N 121°35'16"W 👍
