This instrumental shows how good a guitarist marc bolan really was !!! The strings are superb and it benefits richly from no sqwaking on the track !! Real bolan fans will know exactly what I mean !!! KALMIYH ❤❤❤❤
Apart from wondering how you are able to do this with the songs, my first reaction to this one is that it is almost better as an instrumental than how it was. This proves it was the vocals that were not as good as his music before this. Marcs vocals changed for a while, they became too tight and less melodic, that did change with the dandy album, where his vocals became smooth and rich again. Also obviously was Gloria’s powerful backing, which became a little too high in the mix for me, a little less backing as just upfront with the main vocals…. It also shows his wonderful tight rhythm guitar playing, no one ever has played rhythm better than him. Malcolm young was incredible for AC/DC but still for me not as good as Marc. The band was tight the sing was right out there with his best. He was on top form with this, but the vocals let it down slightly. Really enjoy the work you do here, it’s fascinating and insightful. Thank you
Interesting theory about the change in melodic style! I agree 100% about how great Marc was at rhythm guitar. Thanks for the comment. Check out the new mixes, including a few with less backing vocals. AI tools are improving fast and enabling us to do these mixes.
The Zinc Alloy album should have been a great album, ad it was obviously meant as a great change of direction as far as Marc's music was concerned. I agree with comments here that the vocals let the album down somewhat , but the real destroyer of this album was the dire backing vocals , which as one comment rightly said was far too high in the mix , often drowning marc out !! I always wonder what the sound would have been like with the great flo and Eddie doing the backing vocals cos they certainly enriched the sound of the slider and other of Marc's music at that time and I can't for the life of me ever think that Marc thought that the female backing he used after flo and Ed were any better ???? KALMIYH ❤❤❤❤❤
Gloria Jones is a classically-trained singer and instrumentalist capable of much subtlety. If she and Pat Hall sang like that it was because Marc thought it "soulful."
@@curtisprice6046 I don't believe there was a good recording of Marc's, whenever she and her mates were backing him !!! He had must have had cloth ears or too much coke , to be judgemental!! It's mo co incidence that dandy when it came out with no screeching backing was a better record than the previous 2 years or so s previous recording , as it was listenable again !!

Mir wäre eine Zink alloy.,.ohne Gloria lieber als ohne Marcs Gesang...Ride on...
Flo & Eddie rules!

When Bolan rocks he eats Smoke on the water easily anytime! Deep Purple is overrated!
