    His lyrics appeared simple but where very complex and beautiful poetic.Agree with all previous comments.His lyrics have so many different levels that most wont understand unless listening to many times.One of the greatest performers of all time.THE BEATLES understood this so well!!Boogie on Marc.

      it broke my heart where I read recently that during his funeral that it was so disturbing when the casket was like on a train track and the swan of flowers moved like it was going in a cave to cremate him. So heartbreaking

    I love how - while only backed by a single acoustic guitar and a set of hand-drums - he approaches the song like he has a full, loud-ass rock and roll band behind him. Pure class.

    Mr GLAMTASTIC is just fantastic here!... This is one of his very best songs too - and the lyrics is a masterpiece, with so many layers. A cosmic song about life and death - and I guess he knew he predicted his own fate here. I mean he knew all too well that he would die all too young.... Rock on Marc in heaven - we will never forget you. Wekeep a little Marc in our heart forever....

    I remember being so into Trex & Marc Bolan with the slider album. I would listen over and over. A lot of my friends were not into him like I was because (i think) the flashy atrire. They made it seem gay, so being a young man I was going along with the crowd and pretended not to like the whole Marc Bolan thing when around them. Looking back at it I would have to say he is still one of my favorite artists. The sound, the look, the original style. Great.

  • @Classikev
    @Classikev 15 лет назад +1

    The line is, "What's it like to be a loon? "
    double meaning is "What's it like to be alone" then "I liken it to a balloon"
    Meaning floating through the air like a LOON is like floating in the air as a BALLOON but his double meaning is that being alone is, to him, similar to if one were a balloon floating above & away from everything & everyone, separate from normal life & human interaction with others. One of his many MANY double meaning lyrics. He was clever, maybe even (at times)...profound.
