- Say hello to Project PrincesS-Type. The Austin Princess is going turbocharged with a full engine and drive train swap from the Jaguar S-Type.
This project is about creating a fun, fast road car. Using the full engine, gearbox and running gear from the 3.0 V6 AJ30 Jaguar S-Type, engine as used in the Noble M12 & M400.
We plan to turbocharge it with either twin Garrett GBC turbos, or one large Borg Warner SX300. We'll be documenting the full fabrication process, from suspension geometry to intercooler and exhaust fabrication, along with building the engine with forged pistons & con-rods.
We plan to use as many of the original Princess parts as possible, along with keeping the exterior of the body shell looking the same too.
Thanks for watching!

Omfg my old mans last car was a green 2200 princess 👸🏼😍🏴. He died before he purchased the Rover 2600 sdi he’d ordered. RMR777S was his green wedge, he was my hero and I know he’d be watching this with me( after I’ve explained “RUclips” and the “ internet” and general life 37 years after his passing 😱😢)
Just found this series - great stuff. Dad had a beige Princess brand new as a company car. We drove all around Europe on a camping holiday with it. It did well and I recall a group of frenchmen around it at a campsite, asking Dad to open the bonnet to see a transverse straight 6 - hard to believe now, but it was quite something in its' day. The beige was darker than your one - might have been called 'sand glow'? - Dad painted a trailer to match - love what you're doing.
This looks like a great procect, I have a real soft spot for the princess as my grandfather had a red one, especially love the phrase "the full Binky"
Thanks for watching. The Princess is my favourite Bl Car from this era.
I wouldn’t have the faintest idea where to begin with doing something like this. I am in awe of your skills! Looking forward to watching the progress
Have a sub! This is some seriously good content, and a belting idea. Can't wait to see it develop.
Thanks, cracking on with it as fast as we can!😃
I last saw a princess about 5 years ago where I live...First one I had seen in over 30 years.
It was a horrific brown colour with vinyl roof and beige interior...but....it was in truly stunning condition..hope its still on the road.
Got to love a rotten bit of BL history being brought back to life with a crazy drivetrain swap!
Thanks!
At the end of the build, Zelda should autograph it, on the trunk ( boot) where the CB antenna should be mounted.
"I'm not going full Binky".....what? so not planning on taking 8 yrs to almost finish it 😁
I’ll be annoyed if it doesn’t drive before Christmas 🎅
Never call a project easy. It might just come back and bite you. Looks like an interesting project. Will follow.
Brilliant stuff! It’s a shame you haven’t got more light under there because we can’t see much…
You’re a true Ambassador 😂
Enjoying this already! Subbed! :)
Thanks Mark! 😃
Me being me and having a passion for the C27 Honda engine and Honda (thinly disguised manual posing as an) autobox and also the Princess/Ambassador range, i would have used the C27 from the abandoned conversion in the 'Aggro (that is now going to be another K20 conversion) in this Princess. I would have used the Jag engine and box in a Volvo 7/9xx (preferably estate) to make another sleeper.
That said, all good work so far, keep it up! ;) :D
Thanks!
Going "full Binky" should now be part of the English language. I hope your project doesn't take as long!
Oh yes, this is right up my staße.
Subscribed!
Wow, found this today - this is a great project and it should be a crime for any petrolhead to not subscribe to you! I have long felt that the Princess *looks* like it should have been rear-wheel-drive and maybe you had the same thought :) Best of luck and I look forward to more of this.
Hopefully RWD will suit the Princess, and even better with an LSD ;)
Woah u really no ur shit dude! Loving this series! Thank you late brake show!
Thanks for watching :)
Good work finding this content @ CarPervert - popped over to RUclips and not disappointed so far! 😃
Thanks!!
Love this project! It’s like Binki but so much better. Actual progress on each video.
Really enjoying this episode this is going to be such a cool car👍
Loving the explanations and progress. Will love to see how this develops.
Thanks!
You gained a subscriber mate how the hell have you only got 1000 subscribers! Some great content. You need to get together with Johnny Smith and his Alegro
Thanks Stiggy! We now have Jonnys Agro in the workshop and have already started working on it :D
That looks surprisingly straightforward, as these jobs go. I've been running a modified Princess myself for a number of years now though nothing on this scale of modification, haven't got the engineering know-how to build what I'd really like to build out of it. I shall enjoy your progress instead, and the problem solving that goes into it along the way.
Thanks for watching, it’s a challenge for sure 😅
Could you have cut the Jag rear floor pan out and grafted that into the Princess?
Keep going please, I cannot wait for the next episode.
We’re on it! Hopefully have another episode up early next week. Thanks for watching 😃
Scrap that, up in an hour or so!😬
Subscribed! Looking forward to seeing this done!
Thanks! We’re a long way from done, but making good progress fast!
@@FabCoUK You'll probably be long finished before I get my 500+ ponies YB Cosworth Viva HC done!!
There’s no race, just enjoy both process buddy😃
Just found this, great project have a sub from me! For your prop I'd recommend Dave Mac props he does props for Craig at Dynotorque and is thought of highly by him.
Thanks! That’s the second recommendation I’ve had for him so definitely seems like the go to guy!😃
Oh no… the purity…
Purists, look away 👀

Nice bit of progress, fascinating stuff. Subscribed! How well are those forward subframe mounts by the rear seat tied into the sills? Not doubting you, just trying to figure out the stress path.
They aren’t at all. They will be part of a new set of chassis rails that run front to back and tie into the new front subframe mounts also. I’ll also be able to incorporate gear box mounts into them also. 😃
A bit more lighting on your creative work would improve things
L&S!
Full binky 😂
Interesting project but much too much time spent explaining what you are going to do and not enough actually doing stuff. They say a picture paints a thousand words and in the world of video it's better to let the action speak for itself and keep the explanation succinct in order to avoid ultimately boring your audience. The fact that this video has only 3,000 odd views since last October tells the story.
Agree 100%. This is basically watching a guy explain what he is going to do. I had high hopes of watching a lot of fab work on an amazing project but 3 episodes in and it’s just a lot of chat.
Well said
we wont too see how you work not how you speak! so much blablabla not good!
