Bill Nelson is a great guitarist, songwriter, and musician. A few years ago, he was the most recorded artist of all time. So sadly unknown by the masses, he is one of my favorites. I have never stopped listening to his music over the years. It is timeless....
Stunningly beautiful and mood mind music. Chill out almost. In a Greek tavern overlooking the beach at sunset with a stiff vodka and tonic and this playing I would have thought I was in heaven...
only a small portion of Bill's music is available on here...all of his discography can be located at my house in Canada... thankx for ALL the great music Bill..
really nice to hear this, Bill Nelson has always been a fantastic guitarist - one of the best - his band Bebop Deluxe did some pretty fine albums, after which Bill released 'Sound On Sound' and 'Quit Dreaming And Get On The Beam'.. both were excellent and well worth a listen
Absolutely brilliant music and musicianship..... IMHO Bill is one of the greatest guitar players of all time, however largely unheard of outside of 'guitarist' circles. Check out the tracks 'Axe Victim' and 'Adventures in a Yorkshire Landscape LIVE'.... Epic guitar playing without the guitar hero attitude....
If Bill knocked on my door and asked for payment for watching this on RUclips, I'd pay up straightaway. Having said that I've purchased a huge amount of his vinyl back in the day and am awed and moved by everything he's done over the years. The man's incredible. Superb.
As Bill is such a perfectionist and this concert was being released as a DVD, he wanted to iron out a couple of bum notes from the original performance, so he took the master tapes home and 'tidied up' a couple of things he wasn't happy with.
I recorded, mixed and mastered these Metropolis performances and, while Bill did repair two moments from the evening (both vocals) he certainly did not change anything on this particular piece.
evocative of truth symbols in the way songs that salt the ver changing way, the night the streams an Ocean view of depth, perceived I loose it lost & desperate,,,, some follow some cry her symptom are a mystery yet seen as a shadow in her very eye.... simmering steam all lushes & quailed off the very Hills that met it under the veillllllll
Incredible....two geniuses at work.

STILL amazing.... A Heavyweight forever... Thanks for the post!
A genius amongst us no doubt, sadly only to be recognised so by history .....
...and the huge number of Bill Nelson enthusiasts, like us.
I've always loved Bill Nelson but watching this gives me a new appreciation for Theo Travis.
WOW...Being a flute player, it's about time someone did this kinda thing. Theo also has collaborated with Robert Fripp on two albums. I LOVE THIS!
Have you heard anything by Camel, Justalias? If not check them out. Particularly the Snow Goose
Check out Officium/Hilliard Ensemble/Jihn Anderson…..beautiful……though saxophone, not flute

What a lovely guitar!!!
Thank you Dave for this revelation xx
Wonderful. This has a distinctly south American vibe, more Brazil 66 etc.
Prince had a Bass guitar made for him that looked almost identical to this lead guitar. This reminds me so much of Jade Warrior in places.
Knockout ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Miming ? Look from 4:30 onwards - notes are being picked but his left hand is applying vibrato on a single note and his right hand is stationary.

Not wishing to sound elitist but I am glad he isn't more widely known...
