My coworker and friend Michael and I would listen to this over and over again. He passed away while I was out of the country, I was so shocked... Literally, one day I got off the train in NYC and looked up at the street sign and saw that it was the street he had lived on, I recognized the building at the corner from his description as we had talked about it at length. I just stood there and silently sang this song to myself and to him. Michaell, you are still missed, after all these years. Thanks for all the smiles.
@@Mark.Cleworth oh no, I am so sorry about your friend, that's so sad, my heart goes out to you Mark!! And thanks so much for your kind words, my friend.
It's me. It's me driving down to that London after a bad break-up. Just passed Harlow. With this on a loop. Low-sodium orange lamplights twinkling. Goddamn. Everything. But The Girl.
EBTG is such a grossly underrated band for the collective experience of so many different genre and styles of their original songs which come out acoustic first, revised and tech synth'ed for EDM or deep house & acid jazz. These days you don't need talent to be a top music artist. I miss the time of music where you had to be good and make relevant memorable songs for a full album of quality work, regardless of genre. The 90s were quite a time indeed as far as the music goes.
Her voice is one of the most gorgeous female voice ever. And it is at it's peak around these times. I love also the double bass, it combines miraculously with the electronica. This must be Danny Thompson, there is only one man on earth who plays like this. This is so utterly beautiful and tasteful done
@@jaimeozxo5884 I hear you, but she had in the past difficulties with the "men" in the music business being condescending. She also has said she never like performing live. Let the music speak for itself.

Sublime: The unforced melancholic modest delivery beautifully articulates and conjures imagery over waves of pulsating moody beat music: Intelligent disturbing unassuming profound. At the furthest limits of popular song or modern reaches of poetry: Sublime.
There's something so cool and groovy about the synths and the acoustic upright bass playing with each other. I wish the studio recording had that, but at least we have these live versions.

"Missing" still sounds nowadays in a lot of places here in Valencia (Spain), I'm 40 and I have one brother and one sister older than me who listened to it so much in the 90's. Unforgettable song.
One of my greatest regrets is that EBTG had to cancel their show in Ft Lauderdale / Pompano back in 96 or 97. I’ve been a fan since the very first time I heard “Driving” and later I fell deeply in love with “Amplified Heart” which quickly & literally became the soundtrack to my life in 94/95. I played & still play that album so many times that it’s part of my DNA and my life forever! Reading Tracey’s autobiography has catapulted me back to that era and my love affair with EBGT. Since 94 I’ve purchased all their back catalogue and kept up with all their new releases! I know the show was suddenly canceled due to Ben’s health and I am just grateful that he is doing well and still making beautiful music. Love you forever! ❤️❤️ MaryLiz from Ft Lauderdale ❤️❤️
These women standing in the front row not only NOT GROOVING to this music, but standing there with their arms folded. It's like you're watching musical brilliance literally 4-6 feet from you (being played live, no less) and all you can do is stand there? What TF is wrong with this audience?
One of the coolest artist on earth, with an angelic classy voice! That's Tracy thorn. My favorite from her is,, I didn't know I was looking for love...
I Never got the chance to see them sing in public, whoever I had the pleasure to Meet Tracey and Ben at one of the WMC !! This video of them live is just amazing !! Sound exactly like the record. I could swear is a play back but her voice is such a perfection that is not playback ! Love everything they did ! I have all the records. And wondering if ever still be a British artist with such a humbleness and talent ! 🥰
I missed a lot in the 90s evidently. Heartsong for a drummer. lyrics we're always on point with the vocals. Each and every way what I heard that song I had to find out what's going on. I am mesmerised by this group. Being too busy playing in the bands.
