Tip 6 is such an important one. I remember watching a video of the car track combo I was racing that weekend from someone much stronger and faster and then trying to copy what they were doing. It was really really bad. I thought I was doing everything the same way but I was still struggling. So I went back to basics, getting the car to oversteer/understeer on demand in the corners and getting new references based on my own experience. Ended up winning a race after that session with fastest lap (barely) and decent consistency using some of the tips from the video and a lot of the feedback I got from my own experience.
Can’t stress this enough, everyone’s driving style is different and you’ll need to find yours. You’ll also have way more fun, it will feel easier and you’ll feel safer

I didn’t and still don’t have the best hardware, but having a consistent location for the hardware I do have made a massive difference. Before I was shoving a towel under an office chair to stop it rolling around. Even when racing the same car, it was the equivalent of having different brake settings for every session as my foot was in a different place. I got far more consistent after switching to a fixed location.

So many people are so quick to fly off the handle right after an incident. Then checking replay and realizing that it was a Net code. Or that the person made a mistake, realized and apologized. They're so many variables to this but toxicity spreads fast. That's why i try to take the innocent til proven guilty approach and review replay. Granted there will always be that 5% who are out causing mayhem and those are the ones you take the time to protest because after iRacing for over 4 years now, those toxic players never last. Great video Marian! Your always really good at explaining everything on your channel and I continue to see your content evolve. I think it takes a fellow creator to really realize how much work and time that goes into these videos. Don't stop, Cheers Mate!!

If you really want to improve, yes, but driving some other types of cars may help you improve some of your skills which u can use everywhere, also just have fun, if driving 20 different cars makes you happy, do it

It's ironic that "5000 hours" sounded like "5000$ in iracing"

Yes goodhardwarw and a good rig makes you faster. Bevause it makes you more consistent. A good wheel can tell you when abs or tc is happening. It can make corrections faster when the wheels go lose. It can absolutely improve tkmes. That whole hardware doesnt matter I believe has been overplayed.
What it shoupd be is going to nee hardware wont mske you faster righr away. Once you adapt and learn it then it will. Just like pedals those absolutely make you faster/more consistent and has been proved a good bit.
But yes you can adapt to anything and be fast at anything lol.

    Great advice.
I go into a race and ask myself, 'what can I learn here to improve my race craft'?

If you're using Garage61 you have a tab with statistics where you can see your hours on track! and other stats as well, it's quite cool
