I was the car behind you in the GR at Willow Springs clip for RL. I saw you on track during that practice session and wondered why you weren't in the race. Just gathering content!
I spent months in SDK where I changed and customised everything possible. But that was back when they were just moving into the driver/streamer market. It is by far the most professional looking at the top end because it was designed for broadcasting. If you don't mind the work it takes to modify and change things using code (and maybe learning the code) it is certainly worth the effort.
Great video comparing the available overlays. I’ve been using ioverlay and love it. The track map does act up sometimes in multi-class where I can’t see the other class. Otherwise, it’s solid. The best part about ioverlay is the frequent updates that addresses bugs, so it’s my go to overlays now.
@@mintyCS I wish it was the end of those uggly black box's but I don't see it happening , iracing brings in over 1,000,000 a month (100,000 racers 10 ) and the game is constantly been 10yrs behind , all that cash you would think development would actually happen instead of tiny updates , took 4 yrs to get new tires on everything ?
@@mintyCS Have I missed something? It's now 9 months after your comment and I still use Racelabs as a 3rd party software that you need to open every time you use it 😅
iOverlay has all you need really, and for a completely free software it's quite feature rich, and the developer's dev road map is huge, so if they keep up the pace with other overlays I think eventually it will be a no-brainer to use it.
JRT is awesome for team endurance racing. I agree the standings isn't all that useful while driving, but you can set up the standings page to give so much useful information on another monitor for use while you're not in the car. Supposedly if your team is running it you can set it up to transfer fuel info from the current driver so you can know usage when you're not in the car. I however haven't quite figured out how to actually do it.
@@CobraAce04 I was a huge fan of ioverlay, but now the free version has less itens than other free versions and 6€ a month is a joke for people like me in Brazil, or any other non first world country

I do t think much works with openxr right now. Race labs are working on it. In their discord there’s a discussion about using open kneeboard to get it working now but it’s quite complex.
Hello, from what I've heard, Kapps has been abandoned and will no longer be updated. I use the Simhub overlays. If you want another idea, it's ugly but works very well and shows minimum speed. I haven't found another one that does this yet. Tks
One main issue I had is, with Ioverlay, my Iracing OBS recordings were basically powerpoint presentation. There is some bug which is causing this which i haven't figured out why because I record Star citizen at 50Mbps with zero stutter. so for recording Racelabs' standings and for actual racing ioverlay is the best
Hi, I haven’t seen this answered anywhere and I’ve trawled through Reddit & RUclips.. are any of these overlays compatible for iracing single player AI ?? I run a competition where my viewers are all assigned an ai driven car and I ‘race’ them every week, problem is, with the standard iracing overlay I can only see the top 7 & the cars that are around me. Obviously everyone wants to know what position they are in! If they dont have that information they can quickly lose interest. I need a live leaderboard on screen! From what I can tell all these are purely for online… hoping there’s one out there… 😢
Hey there, interesting question. I did not try that out yet but might be able to give it a go the next days. Normally I would say that these overlays should be able to showcase AI cars, just like the original iRacing stuff does. - Rene
Hi, great video, but I have a problem, when I activate the overlays and go to the game, my toolbar appears and when I press alt + enter to go to full screen mode, my overlays disappear. can anyone help me?
@@davisantos5207 the game has to be in windowed mode for overlays. Atleast that’s how it was for Ioverlay. Try the game in windowed mode instead of full screen.
I’ve had iOverlay doing some pretty weird stuff while in iRacing. Has anyone else experienced this? Like the throttle got stuck or iRacing crashed. I never ver have had these problems when not using iOverlay.
Guys, I'm getting a severe micro stutter whilst running iracing in borderless windowed mode, every ten seconds or so. It stops immediately if I put it on border or full screen. Any ideas? It's driving me nuts. Task manager isn't showing anything unusual. Obviously this is a problem because I want to use ioverlay with borderless window mode but I can't due to the stutter.
Can't say for Kapps, but iOverlay is a far lighter programme to run vs Racelabs. In RAM terms, it's 1/3 to 1/2 of the RAM, Racelabs uses a comical amount of memory for what it does.
The issue here is the one overlay is in KPH instead of MPH as we go by this in the US. Now you have to purchase the subscription, fail. Sorry had to bust on your balls here but that’s the facts
I can absolutely assure you, that we have not been paid by any of the different tools/overlays. If that would ever be the case, we would clearly mark that. But of course people have different opinions regarding which overlay they prefer (for me it would be RaceLabs right now, might change who knows).
