I've got one in the black planet matte, not a bad guitar at all for the price! As others have said, the tremolo on these isn't the best (it's not bad, but I've noticed after some use it doesn't like to settle back perfectly in tune after a dive but a quick wiggle of the whammy takes care of it). Also I dunno if I just got one that didn't get the care it deserved but I've got a high fret, either the 2nd or 3rd. It's still very playable but you'll notice a little extra buzz on the B and e strings.
I'm torn between this one and the rg550 genesis. I dont have any guitars with double locking tremolos so I'm wondering if its a good idea to get a lower end one to mess around with or just springing for the rg550 because it has the original edge and its made in Japan.
Don't mess with lower end double locking trem guitars. Been there, done that (yes the Edge Zero-II too). Get the RG550. You'll thank yourself in the future. Just my 2c.
RG550 for sure. U ll not regret it! All the hardware is lot better than low end Ibanez's. Also the edge tremolo of the 550 is awesome! It never gets out of tune. Also gotoh tuners and MIJ instrument! The only upgrade that u need and not necessary is the pick ups.

Go with Japanese made everytime, if you don't enjoy the double locking tremolo you can get a tremelno and turn it into a hard tail
