thank you for this video, very helpful. I just got my scout but I haven't had time to open box. I had a sizzix sidekick but hardly used it and I don't know what I did but it only partially cuts now. I had been hunting for something small and I'm excited to try this. I need my electronic die cutting machine for my hands but for small, quick pieces I'm have high hopes for this.
I took this little guy with me this week to the hotel to work on Gina K new release for next week and WOW. I am impressed! My video skills not so great. But little buddy is definitely my new hotel crafting companion.
I can't justify it because I have the little one from Honey Bee and it works great. This Spellbinders has a slightly bigger platform which would be nice.
I preordered mine as well. Sadly, my machine doesn't grab the plates ea.and every time. Spellbinders has informed me that it needs to be "seasoned". However, i have my machine on a silicone mat and standing for the pressure and once the die gets near the roller, the plates won't go through each and every time. The handle turns, but the rollers don't always. I feel i have a defective one and that I'm out my money. Anyone else having issues?
Mine worked perfect right out of the box. I saw a video where there may be oil on the rollers. You can rub the rollers with a paper towel. That might help the machine catch the plates.
Another hint for any machine… leave some space at the top of your cutting plate before cutting. It can’t grab the plate if the very end going into the machine is too thick. Hope this helps.
Exactly what I said on my video. For people who are limited on space. I travel a lot for business this handled most of the dies I took with me for cardmaking. I used it in thr hotel and made several cards. I originally purchased it for my daughter. There are people who craft in travel trailers or crops. There are many benefits to a smaller die cutting machine you don't need a larger one for.
Apart from what you say, also some people are not mixed media artists or something where you need huge dies. There are card makers that just need to use small dies, specially if you are just cutting the stamped images with their own dies, its more than enough for that. And this machine you can have always just on top of your table and always at the ready to do some cutting. I love my old Turquoise Sizzix Big Shot but god does it weight a ton each time I have to get it out of its cupboard and set it out to cut, its a pain. This is much more useful for daily use.
It's so little and cute. I think. I think this little cutie machine may or may not gave already found it's way onto my crafting wishlist.
It’s the cute factor. Oh and the fact that it’s purple too! There are so many colors, I know I don’t need them all. Hah!
I’ve wanted a small cutter. This is absolutely perfect. Mine arrived yesterday and it’s simply adorable

I don't have a small one. Brought it to the hotel and used it last night. Perfect little companion.

Try adding an extra paper shim? Paper thickness matters. Thin papers don't always grab.

I am having the same issue. 😢
I had the same issues
Do you drive on your trips? I can't see hauling all that on a plane. They are very cute though.
Yes I am always on the road for work I used it last night at the hotel and it worked great.
Why would anyone want something like this that is so limited in the size of dies? Maybe for traveling or for a child as a beginning crafter?
