    They should not expect jump thru hoops to get it to work appropriately. You aren’t new to die cutting machines. I was going to invest but now I will just carry on with what I am doing. Who ever heard of seasoning a machine it isn’t a cast iron skillet. 🤪

    Did you show a clip of you using shim F as I can clearly see it off to the side both before and after the update. I'm not siding with them, but there were so many bad reviews followed by all their influencers loving it. Thanks for your honest review. I'll look elsewhere for a travel die cutting machine.

    I tried the scout last night and it worked well with no issues. Vianney had issues with hers as well.

    Now I wish I had seen this before preordering mine. I have 3 levels of Diecutting machines, all of them Sizzix, and have NEVER had a problem that was machine related.

    Oh yikes. That's too bad that it didn't work as well as expected. (I have only been die cutting for about 4 years and haven't heard of having to season a machine like that.) I wish you luck in getting this resolved. Please keep us updated if you can! ❤

    I received my lilac one on Friday after waiting over 2 months on pre-order. I have used it a lot over the last two days and it has cut like a dream. This evening the plates kept slipping to one side and the roller was rolling but not pulling the plates through. Going to try it again tomorrow but if the problem persists it will be going back to spellbinders for a refund.

    Rhonda I got the same response you did…So I called back and left them 2 emails. I’ve never had any issues with my other Spellbinder Machines or any of my other die cutting machines!

    It looks to me like your tension is too loose. I think a shim or two might help. Just a thought.

    Rhonda, I received the same canned message today, the funny thing is my Lilac Scout has worked perfectly for the last month, since I received it. I don't think they even read my email just hit send once they saw Scout in the subject line. I am now waiting for a follow-up response to my response. How can a machine work for a month now it won't even pull the sandwich through, it stops and pivots to the left and that's it? I am not amused.

    My machine was so tight that my husband could not get the sandwich through. Sometimes I would get a cut, then I was hopeful that the machine had finally adjusted. But no, the next attempts would be failures. I tried many times, with many thicknesses of paper. For most crafters, I am guessing that this is not their first machine. It was frustrating to have Spellbinders gaslight me, and blame the customer when I obviously got a defective machine.

      I got mine Saturday & took it out tonight for the first time & I’m having the same issue. I’m hoping they make this right because these machines are not cheap!

    You did exactly the same thing. Tried to figure out the issue. I could not the machine just would not cut. On my second email they told me to try it 10 times. I have used the machine more than that so I tried putting the die through ten times. It still did not cut. What a huge disappointment. I wish I had seen this before purchasing. I’m sending it back.

    That’s insane!!! Need new cutting plates by the time it’s supposedly “seasoned”🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️this is nuts of SB!

    I had problems with mine as well. It worked fine the first several times and then all of a sudden it would not pull anything thru no matter what I did. Sent 3 videos to Spellbinders and they finally sent me a return label to return it and will refund me. It is also no longer available on Spellbinders. I did order the blue one from an independent craft company so we’ll see how it goes.

    Ugh. I bought the same blue mist one and a friend bought the white one. We both had issues right out of the box. My friend wrote an email to Spellbinders about her plates skidding to the side as they went through the machine and she got the same cookie cutter reply that she had to hold the machine while running dies through or put a non slid mat underneath and they implied she doesn't know how to use a die cutting machine. That's laughable since she has a handful of other machines.
    Also, you should never have to go both ways. One pass through dhould he sufficient. My "Thank you" die also doesn't cut all the way through but it cuts on my other machines.
    Spellbinders needs to take a class in customer service.

    That is so sad. I received mine but now I am afraid to use it. What are they going to do about this? I bought the bundle.

    NO! NO! NO! You shouldn’t have to do all that to get a machine to work properly. NOPE! Very disappointing. It would be a send back for sure. I would have them send me a prepaid return packing slip too. I have several mini die cut machines and have never had to “season” them to get them to work. I have Anna Griffins, Diamond Press, Crafter’s Companion. They all worked right out of the box. Thank you for being so honest. More RUclips bloggers need to be more honest rather if your sponsors or affiliates. ❤️🙋🏻‍♀️🤗

      I totally agree with you @DiEtta! I just got the Lilac shimmer and it worked right out of the box. I never seasoned any of my machines Tonic Tangerine, DP Marquis. This is not acceptable.

      I had problems years ago with a new Platinum 6. The rollers were so tight I could not get a routine plate sandwich, without a die and paper added, through the machine. Spellbinders gave me a run-around. Said it was my fault; said I was not using it properly, etc. Refused to take it back. Wanted me to return it to the vendor I bought it from even though it was clearly their product. I was not impressed by that company’s customer service. I won’t take a chance on a Scout.

      Absolutely. I’ve got the Scout and trying to make it work for 3 weeks now. I’m 67 years old, and it’s just too hard for me to make it work.

    Rhonda my Scout is too tight and the dies will not go through the machine…. So I’ll be contacting Spellbinders

      Mine too! That little Flower will NOT go thru the machine...the Plate bends sharply and I'm NOT breaking a machine. I will contact them AGAIN tomorrow. They are a good company, I believe/pray they will do the right thing!

      Hi. I just ran across ur video and my scout came in yesterday. Tried it tonight after seeing ur video. My die did cut. However, the wheels r not grabbing my plates when it gets to the die unless I use my body against it. The handle just keeps turning!!! And I threw out the shipping box this morn. Oh lord!

    Shim f is the white shim to your left- try adding that it should help and try differs dies to see

      Oh no! That is very disappointing. Did it help if u run it back and forth a few times? I know i have to in my platinum 6 fir some dies but not all so strange

      I have the Stampin Up version of this machine. It is made by Spellbinders’s and it has all the same issues that everyone is having with the scout. I wish I had returned my SU one.

    Too many issues w/ SPB new machines. I will continue waiting for Gina K’s Intricut to come back in stock. The idea of being able to adjust pressure w/ out adding shims is genius!

    Going to be happy with what I have. Not going to get frustrated and worry; I call that a fail I am disappointed that they have given any one that response, and that they think we are that stupid to accept that kind of answer. The truth is so much better, even though we do not want to hear the right answer and only to be disappointed. I am keeping my pocket closed.

    I have had a white Scout for five days. I cannot get it to cut properly. I filed a complaint with their Customer Service and have received three boilerplate responses. I am using all the shims, putting lots of pressure on the top (so much it is bending my plates) and still it will not cut. It will not cut the middle of any die. I tried with a spellbinders die, a Tim Holtz die, a Sizzix die and a Paper Roses die. None will cut on the Scout. I have sent them a picture of the non-cut. I would like a refund or a new machine that works. They keep sending me emails saying I do not know how to diecut and sending instructions. I am a 20+ year papercrafter and have used lots of different die cutting machine.

      Omg I am having the same issue! I can’t even get mine to run through the machine! They told me I needed to apply more pressure…. Pretty sure me standing putting all my weight on the die plates to try to get it to cut isn’t normal. I haven’t been able to use mine at all yet!

      I emailed spellbinders again letting them know nothing worked and that my machine is still not working. I let them know i don’t seem to be the only one with this issue……this was their reply…… “We will send a return shipping label to return the machine, once we receive it we will process a refund.”

    Sounds like an excuse to me. It should cut right off the bat. Love my diamond press cutting machine also, never fails me.
