- I told you I’d be back! :D Today we’re going to take a close look at 6278 Enchanted Island from 1994 - one of my all time favorite sets!
As always, the music, artwork, video footage, and photography (with the exception of the old eBay listing photo), are all created by yours truly.
If you’d like to stay up to date with channel news, sneak peeks, have a chat, and all kinds of other awesome stuff, follow me on Instagram. It’s just @ Trikbrix.
Thanks for all your kind words and comments over the past five years, and especially thank you for your patience! It feels good to be back! 😎👍
I can't believe this is actually happening!! 😍
Neither can I!
Wild, isn't it?? 🤯
🤣👍 Me either! 😂

"Welcome back...to TrikBrix" I got chills
Thanks! It was fun to say that! 😎👍
Same!
Holy crap what a Christmas gift
Merry Christmas! 😊👍
As someone who found your channel after you went on hiatus, it feels incredibly awesome to be here for a brand new upload. I’m really looking forward to this new era of TrikBrix :)
Thank you! Me too - it’s good to be back! 😊👍
*The Return of The King*
Watching these videos is like a warm mug of coffee on a cold rainy day. I know there a quite of a few videos out there complaining about copy and paste Lego set reviews, but to this day, the editing quality, music, connection to lore, and storytelling of your videos have no peer in the Lego RUclips community IMO. You have inspired my content and continued love of the hobby and you can see by other content creators (some in the comments on this video!) how your influence has spread. I completely understand needing to live your life outside of Lego these past five years (my partner and I moved across the country and had our first child in those years 😮), but I am grateful for you being back and joy/light you offer! Thanks Jamie! I’m excited for the next steps of the journey. Play Well! -A Brick in Time
Thank you so much, that really means a lot! I’m so glad you enjoy the content, and I hope I can continue to earn your viewership? Thank you! 😊👍
YOOOOOOOO HE'S BACK
Yes indeed! 😎👍
Imagine my surprise when I saw a video by TrikBrix in my subscription feed. A truly amazing surprise Ithought I’d never get to see again. So glad to have you back.
Thanks so much! It's good to be back! 😎👍
Welcome back! It's an audio drama, so it's not exactly conclusive, but it's implied that the lady Islander was indeed the wife of King Kahuka (called Quextil in Germany) in the German audio drama Die Insel der Schaurigen Maske, where she is given a name, Amaritza (but no dialogue.)
She's the mother of Kahuka's two sons, Thu and Kothu. (These characters, though nameless, were identified in US Shop at Home set descriptions of King Kahuka's Throne as Kahuka's two sons, so that bit of lore was carried over.) Interestingly, the name of Kothu used as the chief's son can be traced back to the cancelled Island of Mist comic book, where the group that eventually became the Islanders was originally conceived as a group of isolated Aztecs.
Oh, wow, thanks for sharing! Very interesting stuff… I’m so jealous the Germans got all the radio dramas! 😂 Thank you! 😊👍
So glad to see you back! What a wonderful surprise this is❤️
Thank you! Hope you enjoy it! 😊👍
2019 was an intresting year. The Area 51 raid, the fire of the Notre-Dame, the bat soup, and i found your channel. I still remember how when i came home from work (after a night shift) instead of going to bed in the morning i watched your newest reviews, because sleep can wait.😅
Haha, and as crazy as 2019 was, it was nothing compared to what came after! 😂 And I’ve lost plenty of sleep watching old Lego reviews, too, so you’re in good company! 😄👍
The best LEGO reviews on RUclips. Excellent production values, impeccably written and warmly narrated. Thank goodness you're back.
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoy them! 😊👍
Not only is TrikBrix back but he comes returns with the most iconic set of one my favorite sub themes
Nice! I’m glad you like it! 😊👍
CLASSIC PIRATES REVIEWS ARE BACK BABY RAAAAAAAAAAAA
@@Sasuri You better believe it! 😎👍
Great set to return with! When i was little, this set was one of the ones i wanted the most! I loved all factions in Pirates, and the Islanders were such a great addition to the theme! The difference in the presentation of those two sets of instructions was pretty sad,but also how I feel about the difference between modern and classic Lego. That professional set photography and alternate builds need to make a comeback. Thanks for the review!
Of course I get out of Lego for a couple months and the legend comes back! I’ve always loved Lego since I was 4 years old in 2006, but of course had my dark age in my late teens. I’d always had an appreciation for the old sets but never really connected how much I didn’t like the newer ones design philosophy. Your channel was a big part of me realizing that I didn’t stop loving Lego, I just stopped loving NEW Lego! The very first theme I collected was pirates because of you. I’ve rewatched your videos over and over again because you really immerse the viewer into the world of adventure and creativity these sets offer. I’ve never seen a channel get that feeling across even half as well as you do. I’m very excited to see you back!
Although it should be mentioned RR Slugger comes very close to capturing that feeling!
That's so awesome to hear! I'm glad my videos helped you rediscover your love of old LEGO! Thanks so much for watching! 😊👍👍
Welcome back Jamie! It's great having you back uploading fantastic reviews! Anyway just wanted to share my younger cousins would often mix my Islanders with their Adventurers Jungle sets when they came over for visits, as a sort of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" idea. Gave Achoo a few more henchmen and using the striped shirt pirates gave Senior Palomar some much needed muscle as well. Though I was already into my Dark Ages, this was always an interesting idea to me. It was the only times during my Dark Ages I would join my younger cousins in creating fun stories. I can tell you with utmost certainty, attaching this set along with Amazon Ancient Ruins made both sets feel like you were deep in the Jungle or on a very Enchanted Island!
Thank you! I wanted to mention how well the Islanders sets go with the Adventurers Jungle sets, but this video was long enough as it is, lol. I’ll save that for another video! 😊👍
@@TrikBrix Can't wait! :)
Great review! There was always something about the sets with something curved about the baseplates (the river here, but the Aquazone base also had a curved baseplate situation) that made me want to own four of them to make a circle. This set would form a little lake with an island, for example.
Same! If you look at the catalog shot, you can see where they added to the river a bit - I definitely want to do that someday! 😊👍
Oh I’m remember watching these when my LEGO obsession was at its height.
It has simmered due to lack of space, but I still can’t wait to watch all of these high production reviews of the sets I missed!
Thank you TrikBriks! Love the new logo!
Thank YOU for watching! And the struggle for space is one I’m very familiar with! 😄👍 Glad you like the new logo!
I bought a big bulk lot of Lego and this was one of the sets within. HOWEVER, an absolute MANIAC that previously owned the set had SUPER GLUED IT together. This caused a number of pieces to break over the ensuing years and being tossed in Lego bins. Seeing the raised baseplate brought so much joy, only to end up feeling gutted when I realized the full situation.
Great to see that you’re back Jamie!!
Oh nooooo! 😬😫 Hopefully you can find one that comes apart! 😄👍 Thank you so much!
Welcome back, Trickbrix! I was never a big fan of the Islanders back then, but I can't deny how impressive this set is and how it is indeed quite the review to return with!
Thank you! I thought I’d start off big! 😄👍
I had to double check it because I thought my eyes have decieved me! TrikBrix is back with a new review!! And it's Christmas! This is the closest we can get to the childhood nostalgia! Thank you! Can't wait to see this one!
For real! It’s such good timing
Thank you! And Merry Christmas! 😊👍
No way ! You're back ? That's huge, no one to this day topped your lego videos !
Aww, you’re too kind! Thank you! 😊👍
The joy this fills me with is immense, talk about an early Christmas gift!
@@lazlotakahashi4150 I’m so glad! Merry Christmas! 😊👍
The best Lego youtube channel is finally back. You have been missed
Aww thank you! 😊👍
JOY TO US. Jamie is back. It is nice to hear you again.
Thank you! It’s nice to be back! 😊👍
He’s back!!! I Found your channel several years ago on a business trip out of town and, funny enough, the many fun videos provided enough entertainment to distract me from how much I missed my newly married wife. The business trip ended up lasting two weeks rather than the intended one, so it was actually really hard for me. So thank you for all your past work and looking forward to any new videos!
Wow, I’m so glad I could help out during that time! I know being apart like that is difficult, so I’m happy the reviews took your mind off things. And thank YOU for watching! 😊👍
Welcome back man👑🌟 Awesome video (as Always ) - music, narrative, opinions expressed, atmosphere, just Everything spot on👌🏻💎 Thank you for transporting us and allowing us time travel to our childhood.
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it! 😊👍
@TrikBrix oh man enjoyed is a serious understatement 🌴👑🗿
Awesome, just plain dang AWESOME!!!! The Lego community is whole once more. The King is back, baby!!! WWWWOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
The only thing that could make today any better for me would be if I could somehow manage to move some instructions over on Rebrickable for my narrow gauge Lego steam locomotives.
Excellent job, Trikbrix, excellent job! And good job too for picking up where you left off before!!!!!
Slugger, you may commence the celebration and victory screech!!!!!
Rockatoa, a very happy Brickticks out!!!!!
Thank you! Glad you liked it! 😊👍
"Guess who's back!?" You are one of my favorite legotubers and one of the few that I subscribe to. A real Christmas miracle. 😅😅
Awww Thanks so much! And Merry Christmas! 😊👍
@@TrikBrixThank you, Merry Christmas to you too. I hope you will stay with us for longer!
Welcome back!!! R.R. Slugger sent me. 😊
Thank you! So glad you’re here! 😊👍
I don't know how to describe those old product shots but they are so beautiful. Feels like entering a fantasy world, as opposed to just looking at a picture of the thing you bought.
Agreed! They are SO much better than pretty much anything we get nowadays. 😊👍
Shrunken heads...well....Something to add to my pirates layout. Glad you're back.
Haha! Definitely! 😎👍 And thank you!
Can't believe you're back AND reviewing the Islanders sets, this couldn't be any better!
Enchanted Island and a couple other small Islander sets were a huge part of my childhood, despite being born long after their retirement. My parents managed to buy the island, Crocodile Cage, the King Kahuka set and a couple extra minifigs in the early 2010s for absolutely nothing compared to what they sell for now (if I remember correctly the island cost them a mere 30€ and an extra 10€ thrown in for the rest). I was first exposed to the Islanders from the Lego Battles Nintendo DS game, and became absolutely obsessed with their design.
I had so much fun playing with the island throughout the years, long into my teenagehood and past that, and god knows those baseplates were the centrepiece of so many attempted MOCs and builds. I recently rebuilt it all and combined the smaller sets, a few extra palms and additional details for some of the emptier areas off of bricklink, and it's the absolute crown jewel of my exposed Lego sets.
Again, I can't express how happy this new chapter of your restrospective makes me. Keep up the good work, so glad to see you back!
The Islanders were truly in a league of their own! So glad you got to experience them, and it’s great that they’re still a big part of your collection!
Thank you, it’s great to be back! 😊👍
You have the perfect voice for this, such good voiceover
Thanks so much! I just got a new mic, so I’m glad to hear that! 😊
I discovered your channel late last year and when I found that the last video was posted like 4-5 years ago, I was almost sad I missed the boat, but now, I am really happy to see you back, your content has a charm that I found no other channel can match
Thanks so much! So glad you enjoy it! 😊👍
Thank you very very much for this detailed review. The best on RUclips for this set. And welcome back. For me, this set is a lived childhood, hundreds of hours of endless fantasy. No set reminds me more of my Lego childhood than this one. It has at least three things that are unbeatable and irreplaceable to this day: King Kahuka (the best minifigure ever created by Lego), the real palm trees (and yes, the ONLY real monkey and also the best crocodile) and in addition this....atmosphere and certain opacity of cannibalism (yes/no), the colors, the canoes, the printed corners. Oh yes...three things.
This set got lost in my Dark Ages, now it has a place of honor on the shelf again. Of course, all with the huge nostalgia glasses, but isn't that exactly what we so often long for. 🤩
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed the review! And you’re right - so many things about this set are amazing. And it’s great that you get to enjoy it on your shelf! Nothing wrong with a little nostalgia; that’s what my whole channel is built on! 😄👍
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Welcome back to the BEST Lego RUclipsr of all time!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!
Thank you too! I don’t really think I’m the best, but I try! 😄👍
Great to see you back! It was worth the wait
Thank you! Glad you liked it! 😊👍
OK, I didn't expect THAT.
What a set to resurrect this channel ❤
Not a fan of Pirates, but I have all Islanders' sets 👌
Nice! I thought I’d start off again on the right foot! 😄👍 Islanders rule!
finding TrikBrix years ago made me so happy as an early teen, watching all these classic sets with a strange phantom nostalgia. Its so good to have it all back. I hope everything is going great for you Jamie
That’s awesome! Thank you! 😊👍
Great video, lovely to have you back.
This really highlights how LEGO used to be more about play than display. Such a fun set, I’ve always loved these old ones despite not being around at the time. I love these raised baseplates, as they encourage to build more on the baseplate and add our own ideas (like all those palm trees!)
Also I had no idea the crocodile came only one year after the dragon - considering how much longer the crocodile lasted.
Finally I have to say what a great observation with the shrunk skulls lol, that’s so unexpectedly dark
Thank you! It’s good to be back! 😊👍
I agree - so many things about this set exemplify why 80s & 90s LEGO was so great. The emphasis was on pure imagination, rather than trying to fill in all the gaps for us.
Yeah, as a kid I would’ve thought the shrunken heads were the coolest thing ever! Lol 😄
Wow, that was sooner than I expected! I need to prepare! 🎉
😄👍
Soooo glad you're back. One of the best out there, next to ol' Slugger! Can't wait what you have in store for us 🖤
Thanks so much!! Lots more to come! 😊👍
I am so glad you're back! Your channel sparked my interest in classic lego, thanks to you i am now a proud owner of many old sets!
Thank you! And that’s awesome! 😊👍
As a male in his mid 30’s with a family and living comfortably enough to purchase most anything I could want, this was truly a Christmas gift to me. Thank you for coming back. Love the attention to detail you put in your vintage Lego reviews. Keep up the good work.
Aww that’s awesome! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! 😊👍
Felt fantastic to sit down and watch another TrikBrix after such a long hiatus. Thank you for starting back up with my personal favorite theme/subtheme of all time!

One of my best surprises ever was to find that TrikBrix is back. I could not been more delighted. And, thanks for reviewing the fantastic Enchanted Island. Great review, graphics, music!

That's so funny, I literally just got this set yesterday! What perfect timing, welcome back TrikBrix!
Thanks, Brian! And what a great coincidence! 😊👍
I completely forgot about this channel but I never forgot about the FIRE reviews of adventurers sets 🔥🔥🔥The lego community missed you 🥰 very excited for more, especially because I love the islanders stuff 🌴🔥🗿🛖
Edit after watching:
I never noticed all the gnarly details alluding to cannibalism and shrunken heads. That’s actually metal asf 🔥
Glad to hear you’re enjoying it! 😎👍 And yeah, the Islanders went hard! 😄
Hey Jamie, I watched all of your videos a few months ago and fell in love with your channel. I was wondering what happened to you and your interest in LEGO, but I accepted that TrikBrix was over and simply rewatched your videos over and over. I’m glad to see you back and I hope you’re having fun making these videos!
Thanks so much! I’m glad you’re enjoying all the reviews! 😊👍
Worth the wait👌welcome back! And you chose one of my favourite sets of all time🏴☠️Your reviews are one of a kind 10/10

Thank you! 😊👍
Ace video Jamie, welcome back
Thank you! And thanks for watching! 😊👍
It's so wonderful to see you back! Missed your voice and wonderful videos. Your videos inspired me to go back and build my old 90s sets again. Thank you for what you do!
Thank you! I’m so glad to hear that, and I’m looking forward to doing many more! 😊👍
The King IS BACK!!!! Can’t wait to see future videos😎
BTW loved the “dark” Easter eggs in this set. I never thought the Islanders were cannibals and had severed heads🫣
Thank you! And yeah - I could be wrong about all that stuff, but it sure looks suspicious! 🤣
I really hope this set is next on the LEGO Icons/neo classic set remakes
Meeee too! That would be amazing! 😍👍
@@TrikBrix it makes sense, first they did a Pirates focused set, then the Imperials, only logical to do the Islanders next
and if it were to happen, my prediction is 2026, as there does seem to be a pattern to these Icons/neo classic sets
2020: Pirates of Barracuda Bay
2022: Galaxy Explorer and Lion Knights Castle
2023: Imperial Trading Post
2024: Medieval Village
2025: Blacktron Renegade
I'd say we're due for a new Pirates set
Fingers crossed!
@@TrikBrix I'm afraid that this won't be happening, unfortunately. TLG (The Lego Group) would likely be wary of potential backlash concerning the "stereotypical" portrayal of the Natives.
For the same reasons, TLG won't be re-introducing any time soon their past 'Western' theme due to, of course, the involved Native Americans/First Nations. 😕
This is the world we live in now.
@ I know… I just had this conversation the other day, actually. What I find interesting, though, is that they’ll still release Islanders and Indians in the CMF series, but not in a theme. 🤔
Welcome back, and fresher than ever!
I never mind the length of your videos because they are cozily paced and very well researched from pieces to stories. I also noticed some new camera pans and angles that gets me excited for future presentations.
Islanders is a subtheme that has always fascinated me, especially in LEGO Media such as LEGO Racers, but I've owned very little such as 6236. And no matter how much I gazed at this set in the catalogs during its 2001 reissue, I never would have guessed on all of its nooks and crannies for play possibilities. Retro LEGO is great at offering the "less is more" approach as a result.
Time for me to re-binge the channel (again!) in the joy of your rebirth! And I do hope you pace yourself and enjoy every aspect of the video experience :)
Thanks so much! And I’m glad you like the new filming style - trying to keep things spiced up! 😄
That’s what I love so much about 80s & 90s LEGO; your imagination had room to breathe. Don’t get me wrong, I love tons of detail on modern sets, too, but most of them don’t have the same magic as something like this.
And I definitely plan on pacing myself! I’d rather go slow than not go at all! 😄👍
Glad to see this upload! Genuinely one of the best reviewers on RUclips
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoy all the reviews! 😊👍
This is the Christmas gift I didn’t know I needed. ❤ Islanders theme RULES! Welcome back, TrikBrix!

Welcome back! You are so right about the instruction booklets. They used to be so inspirational sparking fantasy and creativity, but not anymore sadly..
Thank you! 😊👍 Yeah, it really seems like LEGO has lost their footing when it comes to boxes, catalogs, and instruction manuals… they used to be so much more fun to look at!

Thanks so much, Chris! So glad you enjoyed it! Lots more to come! 😊👍
Gasp! You've returned! Huzzah! Edit: The island covered in palm trees is just awesome.
😎👍
It’s a beautiful day for me. Your reviews and collector’s taste perfectly align with mine. Your reviews from years ago were a huge inspiration, and I always admired the passion and detail you put into them.
What’s more, you’ve brought back memories, and slowly, slowly, I’m rebuilding my own Adventurers’ collection…
I’ve known this channel for years and must have watched every video dozens of times. On top of that, I’ve even shown your videos to my kids, explaining to them in Polish what their dad dreamed of as a child with LEGO.
Today feels like a Christmas gift-I’m overjoyed! I might even start an Instagram account just to find out what’s been happening with you, TrikBrix, over the years.
I’m so glad you’re back, and it was worth the wait! The quality remains as high as ever, and I’m looking forward to more in 2025!
Thanks so much! That’s so awesome to hear that you’re passing it on to the next generation! 😊👍
Welcome back!!!!
I still have both this set and 6246 from when I was young and have to say I NEVER made the connection about the shrunken heads theory! That's so cool! 😂
Thank you for another amazing review! Merry Christmas! 🎄
Haha, glad I could inform you of that gruesome detail! 😂 Thanks for watching! Merry Christmas! 😊👍
Welcome back. ❤❤❤❤ I have missing you and your videos.
Thank you! Sorry it took so long! 😄👍
Really enjoyed the quality of this review, glad to see you back
I appreciate it! I’m really enjoying making these videos again. 😎👍
Merry Christmas! So good to hear from you again Jamie! You summed up my childhood exactly in the opening minutes. I also always included the middle of the coin sprue as a kind of 'super coin' (a doubloon?)! The staring at catalogue images, longing for specific sets. My only islanders set was crocodile cage, and you have given me a morbid new appreciation for the design! I hadn't clocked that yellow head on a bloody red pole until this video. Nice! Can't wait to see the rest of the theme reviewed.
Merry Christmas! I’m so glad you liked it and could relate! And yeah - the shrunken heads are a bit gruesome; I love it! 😄👍 Thank you!
So glad to see this channel back, and an Islanders video no less! Islanders has got to be one of my favorite lego themes ever. I put King Kahuka on my apron when I worked a seasonal position at a lego store
Thank you! And that’s awesome! 😎👍
What?? I just discovered the channel a few weeks ago and was quite sad to see it's "dead". How amazing that you are back.
Also, the added palm trees make this set look so amazing! In wonder if someone tried to add some background art in a cabinet/display to try to simulate the gorgeous sunset from the cover arts.
HES BACKKKK YEAHAHWHAHAH!!!!!!!!!! I know it's only been 5 years but I have so much nostalgia for the old pirate set reviews, welcome back
That’s awesome! Thank you! 😊👍
The return if a legend. Been watching your channel for a long time and loved your videos. Best Christmas gift ever
Thanks so much! And Merry Christmas! 😊👍
I'm glad you're back I started recently watching your content it's really relaxing
Thank you so much! I’m glad you’re enjoying it! 😊👍
When the needed him most, he returned. Welcome back, I honestly forgot about the channel but still love the older videos.
Thanks so much! 😊👍
Now this an end of the year surprise! Welcome back
Thank you! 😊👍
I just found your channel and couldn’t be happier more videos are going to be coming out. As a massive fan of lego (particularly the late 80s to 2009) I cannot wait to watch the videos as they come out and catch up on old ones. Really incredible stuff, I wish your channel all the best!
That’s great to hear! I’m so glad you like the content, and lots more to come! 😊👍
A few more thoughts sprang up on me?
5:59 And in a few Belville sets as a sand pile, along with light yellow.
14:42 I dearly miss the brick-build statue faces. I'm glad LEGO Indiana Jones did feature a few of them, I just wish there were more.
15:12 and potential suitors the princess fancies?
15:38 Or both?
All good thoughts! So many cool things about this set - the biggest of which is that it’s so well designed it really gives you the perfect canvas to create your own storylines! 😊👍
The GOAT is back! You and Jang are the ones that got me back into collecting in 2020. Thank you so much!
Thank you! And that’s awesome! 😎👍
Welcome back! A fantastic set to kick back off with, making really good use of printed baseplates and the classic colour pallete. Hope you can put together videos at a sustainable rate without burnout. Wishing you the best!
Thanks so much! And I’m glad you enjoyed it - I thought I’d start off (again) on the right foot! 😊👍
Oh praise the Islanders, YOU"RE BACK!!!!!!
😎👍
I was sad when your uploads stopped and I was happy when I saw this video today. Based on the other comments here, a lot of people feel the way I do about this. If you feel the need for another hiatus in the future, I am confident that you would be welcomed back again, without question. Find a pace that fits your circumstances and don’t worry about ever disappointing anyone. Your content is great. You offer something unique and valuable with your perspective and hard work. Good luck with future reviews, I will for sure watch them!
Thank you so much! I definitely plan to pace myself this time - I’d rather put out fewer reviews over a greater period of time than none at all! 😊👍
I'm so glad you came back!
Thank you! Me too! 😊👍
Glad to have you back! This is one of my favorite, most iconic sets from the 90s and probably my favorite lego faction! It's always great to have more than two parties in a theme, I wish lego did this more today. I always thought the yellow pip in the pot was a piece of gold, but your theory seems very likely lol
Thank you! And it’s one of my favorite, too! And yeah, I think they were making some minifig stew! 🤣👍
