Thank you for saying it 🙌 for many yrs some of us old fashioned grown folks was considered haters for speaking up on this topic or simply "too old fashion" when in reality we were being the parents we are sent to be. Again, thank you.
No, but let’s talk about it. Someone gifted my daughter an LOL doll and i hated the way it was dressed. I quietly threw away the doll and kept the car that came with it. The more self-aware kids become they start to question their identity and value and try to protect and validate my kids as much as possible.
I remember when I first had my daughter I was toy shopping with my mom and I told her never buy my daughter one of these bbl dolls, I rather her play with Barbie
Whats crazy to me is I think back to maybe 2008 and up until the early Instagram days. Seeing some random girl with a bbl was not some standard. It was rare and wasn’t being praised an it’s truly interesting to see a lot of people just go along with so many people getting surgery these days. I know we can’t physically stop them lol but it’s just I interesting that this is the new norm And that whole lol doll thing. I remember seeing that mom group years ago talk about it. I thought back to when I use to get Barbie’s and bratz back in the day. I can admit the bratz doll skirts were very mini but I don’t think they ever had those girls in savage Fenty vibe clothes. It was all about fun and bright clothes, doing different themes like being a rockstar or going to Tokyo. The lol dolls could of been a cute thing but it’s so many undercover perverts working at a lot of these companies and when you have parents who don’t really pay attention that’s exactly what these people want. I’m always happy to see parents speak up and call this bs out.
FYI: the Bratzs dolls have been out since 2001, looking like blow up dolls. Why buy the dolls if you do not agree with them.. weird. The biggest display of outrage is not purchasing the dolls to begin with.
As far as dolls are concerned. I can remember the Barbie doll being a huge issue for two reasons. One being the lack of diversity within the product line. And the last concerning the Barbie doll being the ultimate standard of beauty not just for little white girls, but AAALLLLL little girls. The "oversexualization" of women is apparent everywhere. As a fan of comic books, video games and Anime, i rarely see any female characters who weren't "shapely" so to speak. I commend you again sis, for using this platform for pointing out these issues. An as an aside, great choice in your usage of select nature backdrops.
When I was growing up (I'm 41), the song that comes into mind was Sir Mix a Lots song Baby got back. Now, I'm not going to get into all of the nuances of the song, but what I will say is that there's a lot of context that isn't discussed, and that's where I blame the parents. Even though my son will be 5 in a month, I try to teach him boundaries and not expose him to sexual tempting things (he thinks every pretty girl he sees is "his girlfriend" which considering today's landscape on black boys, it's a good problem to correct, but i digress). The irony is that it costs far less money to go to the gym and earn your more sustainable "butt" than it does for these damning surgeries. Unfortunately, just like in relationships, we live in a society where people prioritize having maximum results with little or no effort.
@@GiGi52020 they’re fashion dolls and there’s nothing wrong with adults liking them. They ought to market them for children and do so appropriately. They know they have a market for adults and so that should be separate. It was so weird seeing my first LOL OMG doll with her bbl hips lmao.
This is going to sting some people, but this trend has been fuel by BM, and we all know it. The bigger the better is all we've heard for a decade or so now. It's gotten beyond ridiculous, it's cartoonish at this point. It's a weird obsession, let's just be real about it.
I think the American Girl doll brand is appropriate. There are also fabric dolls that Target sells for babies and toddlers that are appropriate; discernment is key here. None of my Barbie dolls growing up were inappropriate personally nor did they ever make me feel insecure or inadequate about myself.
There are dolls that are appropriate for girls 7+. I had to really look and research thru many to find appropriate dolls. I refused to get those too grown looking dolls and accessories for mine and any other little girl. One of the dolls I got was a Healthy Roots doll. My daughter was never into Barbies* as much. I wasn't either, as a child. I loved the realistic type of dolls.
My thoughts on Breast Implants, Women with a partial or full mascetomy. should get implants. how ever for the life of me i can see no reason why A BBL is needed. I try to use my imagination but in reality i dont see a reason for it. Not even cosemtically. I guess if a woman was morbidly Obese, They could take the fat from their stomach and have it put in their butt.
but both are cosmetic procedures that aren’t beneficial to one’s physical health, stemmed from societal pressures about what a women “should” look like & both women would be getting them out of insecurities beyond their control.. i think it’s hypocritical to say, “get unhealthy implants because your breast were removed to better your health, although, it’s equally completely unnecessary, besides, making you more confident.”
The Issue i see with the whole discussion that the younger women are having is their definition of the word Beauty. Gen X we understood the difference between Beautiful Women and Thick Women. For instance Cardi B and Megan The Stallion are considered beautiful. BEAUTY would be Lori Harvey or Tyla or Nyakim Gatwech or Lola Chuil These women are considered beautiful according the male gaze. Today it seems that being thick or curvy is being made to be synmomonous with being pretty or beautiful and its not. On facebook some years ago there was Memes made of Oprah Winfrey and Whoopi Goldberg with Big breeest and big hips and booty to match, Although im not remotely attracted to either one of them, if they bodies look like that i could sleep with them, Im just not attracted to their faces. i think there is a delusional ignorance of the fact being thick and curvy doesnt make all women pretty. It just makes them have nice booty and they will get more offers for hookups than they do relationships. My generation inherently knew this, Thats why women with bigger breast usually wore baggy clothing, to kinda hide their shape as not to be objectified by men, because if a man sees how good her body looks he will become purely fixated on her being top heavy and only want her for one thing. Women i have met on the net who had a natural big ole booty usually concealed their deariarie until we met in person. Had some of the women showed their whole body i might have shown more interest in them. i remember one girl sought me out, i wasnt really feeling her at first, Until she came over and she had all junk in trunk, The type BBLs wish could have. i digress, the other issue i see is chickens coming home to roost. Also another adage is i remember years ago With barbie, Sistas in my generation complaied dolls didnt look like us, They were paper thin or dress size "0" with no his and butt like all black women have. No curvy dolls, It looks like they got the memo and now we complaining about the dolls being to sexy. i remember seeing barbie in the 80s. One of girlfriends had them. YES i started having relationshuips with girls when i was 8 years old. But i remember ole girl having a barbie doll and even back then it was still sexy, with nice set of knockers. as my girlfriend got older of course she grew to be more thicker than barbie. But todays dolls arent as thick as she was when was in highschool together. Even my highschool sweetheart who was naturally athlethically looking has way more booty than any of those those you shown here. My main point is, No one is ever gonna be happy. Gen X women complained about Dolls and Models not having curves, they said the dolls were a dress zero and the models were too and all black women have curves. But then turn around an jeer and insult black girls who were thin, saying they need to eat something or only a dog wants a bone. Now all the skinny girls want to get fat so they can get BBLS, I seen some fine fine sistas i use to work with under the age 23 all of them started over eating to gain weight. Because they wanted to be thick. The issue is this, there is never going to be a diversity of beauuty. One reason is the female gaze and male gaze are drastically different. Men have to set points, What we think is fine fine, and what we think is FXXCKABLE. Both are never the same to us men. I cant speak on how women define beauty in other women, because i have seen too many women say certain women were so beautiful and they seem to be serious or geniunie but me with male brain i be thinking they are lying or just pandering to certain women. They cant be serious. Because the type of girls we as men see as beautiful like out of leaguage fine fine, these women will say she is not all that, or she average, or put her her down like she is not attractive. But over all the chickens have come home to roost. Because my generation complained about dolls and models not being thick enough, Now even in adult films we have contend with BBLS and other BS and some of the runway models today have apparent BBLS. i think the whole body posistivity movement is whats pushing this agenda. An the need to be thick.
This is the same conversation people have been having about dolls for years. Instead of the dolls being skinny and YT, now the dolls have BBL bodies. You didn't contribute anything new to the convo or provide any solutions. Nonsense.
Why comment if you are going to be impolite? Furthermore, your response did not provide any constructive feedback or solutions to the issue at hand either.
What kind of parent gets their high school age daughter a bbl? That's just sad...😔

Very interesting. I get it.
A BBL is stupid
At least the second woman… the black woman has a chance. She is stunning in the face
We, as black ppl, have completely lost our God-given minds, smh. I don't see anything getting better for us.

I knew this world was going to misdirect these kids when i seen a “pregnant Barbie, that gives birth”… like 🤬
Wow. 😮
My sister had that Barbie... It was called the Heart Family
They should never get a bbl
Do you know how much land we would own if we never touched BBLs?
BBLs are not necessary! Stop risking your life for this nonsense..
To keep it up, you have to get multiple BBL's i think every two years you need to upgrade.
That just sounds so dumb
Every 5 to 10 years, how ever you also need to follow a strict diet and maintain the same weight. It’s a crazy and useless surgery
It’s best to just go to gym and eat right
