Your literally the only RUclipsr who has posted anything about 2a hair , I have been trying to do so much research and still have no idea where to even begin. So thank you for coming back to RUclips ❤️❤️
emma evans THIS! I just started trying to get my waves back. I didn‘t follow the cgm strictly, instead I modified it a bit. Today was my second wash day with my new routine. My Hair is like something between 2a and 2b, I don‘t even know. But there‘s not a single youtuber with my hair type...
I agree!! I've just found this channel, and my hair is a similar wave pattern. There needs to be a Wavy Girl Method. The first rule would be that you can brush your hair 😂
Thank you for this video. I have just started 2 to 3 weeks ago with my wavy hair. I love your channel. Mostly because I feel your hair is the most like my waves. One of the biggest reasons that I hesitate doing this is because of all the rules and some of them not working for me hair. Thanks again. It's so nice to feel like you are given permission to do what you need to do for your hair and your life.
type 2a wavy hair is sooo unrepresented, is so hard to find hair tutorial for our hair type. I´m so happy with the content of this girl Hi, from México :)
I tried it for a year. It was awful. I was so afraid to wash my hair “wrong” because there’s no way to fix it. You can’t use heat, so if there’s a lot of frizz/you apply your products wrong, your hair looks gross for days. You have to rewash it again.
Same girl. I’ve had fun experimenting with the cgm but have been looking for the most simple routine that gives me waves that aren’t frizzy or frumpy. So far it’s still sulfate/silicone free shampoo and conditioner and then a tiny bit of cream curl enhancer. Thank goodness you’re making videos because you’re the only one with your hair type I’ve seen on RUclips!
I love Melanie's hair as it is now, it is lovely and I wish mine looked as good. I would like to ask if Melanie's hair is highlighted as it is a lovely blonde.
I am so glad you posted this! I have a very similar hair type just thicker and you’re the only youtuber I can find that has hair like I do. The CGM is just not working for me like I thought it would. My goal is to get where you currently are so I’m happy to know I don’t have to follow the CGM strictly to get there! Also I HAVE to brush my hair, so thank you for that 🙌🏼
Hey guys! Leave a comment down below letting me know what curly girl rules you tend to break in order to get the best out of your hair💁🏼♀️💁🏼♀️💁🏼♀️ Also, leave any ideas for videos you want to see from me! Love you guys💕💕💕
I break all of them LOL. Like u, I became obsessed over it. I was watching every CGM tutorial there was and constantly on my phone looking for products in my area. It got to where all I could think about is hair hair hair and the more I worked on my hair and the more products I bought the less happy I was with my hair. After 10 months I threw in the towel cause my hair was looking the worse it ever had. I went back to straightening it. About 2 months later I decided to style my hair natural using just regular products. Sulfates, silicones and everything in between and my hair looked 100% better. So I style my hair with old fashion products and I don't have all the stress and money lost on trying to do it "health way" or "correct way" or "better way" . I honestly felt like I was following a cult 🤣🤣 right now I'm using mane n tail shampoo and conditioner 😲😲🤭🤭 shameful 😂😂
I just found you and already you have helped with my 2a hair! I was curious if you've tried the denman brush? Using it on my 2a hair will give me a little bit of 2b. But I'm still having trouble getting great results. Would love to see your ideas and how-to with the denman brush. Thank you 😃
I don't do the 'curly girl method' either. I have my own simple way of taking care of my 2b waves. I'm happy that you found a way to take care of your hair. You gave me a few good ideas that I might try for my hair. We don't need to obsess on our hair. I have found myself overthinking my hair and feeling very frustrated and I realized that I needed to make changes. It's your hair! Do you what is best for you. Thanks for the tips
I have the same hair as you and I’ve been using the devacurl wave for the last few months and I let it dry naturally and it looks awesome afterwards... however, I’ve just started to hear all the horror stories about devacurl which is alarming 😳 I desperately need to find a new product that does the same? I’m glad you are doing what’s right for you now and it’s working as your hair looks beautiful 🌸🌸
Hi there. Great video. I feel like with my wavy hair, I feel like my options are unlimited and it should be a fun time to experiment. I too followed the cgm pretty much to a T and my hair was so weighed down and oily. I have now since realized that the cgm is a method for Lorainne Masseys hair and it’s not bad if you do a method that works for your own hair 😀
Whatever you’re doing, your hair looks really really great! I just started embracing my natural waves and my hair looks like your beginner cgm hair. I’d be ecstatic if I could get as wavy as you. You’ve got a new subscriber here. 🤞
Your hair sounds & looks very similar to mine. It's thick & heavy & prone to looking fuzzy & frizzing up when blow dried. I color it to cover grey & get highlights which I don't plan on stopping. My hair always has an S curve in it & i guess depending on length & layers & weather conditions it's 2a - 2c usually a 2b. Right now it's pretty long with minimal layers. I just wanted to have an easy wash & wear hairstyle, no blow drying or heat styling required because with my thick hair we're talking a 90 minute process & I ain't got the time for that. So yeah I was looking for tips on textured hair & found the CGM too. Oddly enough certain things I'd already figured out like scrunching & plopping & air drying but I struggled on 2, 3 & day 4 hair & dealing with the tangles. I've just started trying curly girl approved styling products & if they don't work for me I will go back to my 2 products that did. And I brush my hair dry too. Especially before I wash it. To distribute the natural oils & detangle it. I think CGM has some good advice & tips but you needn't become rigid about it especially if it doesn't work for you & your lifestyle or is making you miserable or obsessed. The goal is to have healthier hair not perfect hair.
It's funny because you said you couldn't deal with the routine, but what you described is more than what I do... But I did as much research as I could so that I could start the curly girl method with as little effort as possible. I use 3 products, but I don't have a refresh routine. I just watched yours and then hearing you explain why you brush your hair here I might have to go buy a brush (plus it sounds like we have the same hair: dense, fine, 2a). I only don't have one because I stopped using my brush for anything but parting my hair long before I started the curly girl method, same with using heat on my hair. -I do use a silicon shampoo every once in a while because Real Life Curly Girl says that's necessary for wavy hair, so I'm glad I found her channel before I started because she's right.
I love this! My friend with type 3 curls has told me I prooobably have wavy hair, but I feel like the CGM is too extreme. Definitely subscribing and will try your tips!! 😄
Your video is really helpful. I’ll try to brush my hair before refreshing. And I’m glad to see I can still have highlights and wavy hair. I think we have the same type of natural color (are you ash blonde?) and I can’t live without my blonde highlights ☺️ not feeling myself either without it.

Beneda Reisinger Girl, I totally get the “cult” feeling! I’m proud of you for just going with what works for you!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Nancydawn13 Aw you’re so kind! I hope your new hair journey goes well!💕
Your videos are so refreshing.
Maybe 2A's need to brush because I agree, not brushing just doesn't work for me either.
You have the most beautiful hair I've ever seen on anyone, ever, period. Sigh. It's perfect.

I don’t shower completely upside down and brush my hair sometimes. ❤️ Your hair looks awesome!
Erin Jessica thanks girl!💕
You felt you had no control over your life because of your hair?? Bit extreme - don’t you think?? 🙄.
