I can’t believe he’s 34. He won’t be around for much longer and that in itself is a real shame. He left the best till last. But he lost in the final to a supreme player and the following year gave him a real scare. Hats off to Jan-Lennard Struff and a guy that certainly won’t be forgotten.

Fortunately, in this sport there is still a player like Lehecka. He just does his job without any emotion and not gives a point regardless of whoever is in front of him. You should never see a 25 year old guy beaten by a forty but that's enought in tennis. Really unfortunate for this "next gen"...

This is far from Lehecka's best tennis. He withdrew from his QF match in Dubai through injury, missed Monte Carlo and this is his first tournament on clay this year. He is still coming back. Early 2023 was probably the best we've seen of him so far, getting multiple top 10 wins and going deep in some tournaments. He's still only 22 so likely has his best tennis ahead of him. His first tournament of the season on his weakest surface after a short layoff is hardly going to be his peak.
