I have the MB card and my first annual fee is in January. I don’t have the vanilla but I’m thinking of applying for the vanilla and cancelling my MB in Jan before the product change.
Hi Sebby, love your videos! Now since the new PRG has 4 points on Supermarket and Dining, plus the dining and airline credit, is it still worth/necessary to get the Everyday card? Could you do an updated video regarding the Amex Trifecta? Thanks!
What if I have the vanilla plat and apply for the mercedes plat now? Will I have to hit min spend prior jan 19 to get the bonus? I don’t pay annual fees and I’m interested in another plat.
Hey Sebby, how do you buy gift cards to take advantage of the AMEX Aspire airline credit? Through an App or you have to go to an airport? I honestly dont know. Thanks
Hey I already have the vanilla card and last night I applied for the Charles Schwab Platinum Card. My AF hasn't hit yet for the vanilla card but I did accept a retention offer for 20,000 points and have already received those points. My question is will Amex get pissed off if I cancel the vanilla card when the AF hits since I did use the retention offer? I figured they might not get pissed since I now have the Charles Schwab Platinum Card.
@@Eltartaro_2050 I'm not sure if my retention offer was related to how much I spend; they didn't say that it was but I probably spend between 25K-30K which isn't much considering many people spend that every month.
Citi cards are lacking a lot. Their best cars probably the DC, it at least means 2% back on anything, which is the best I could find for medical bills and other odd charges. There is nothing special about their service compared to other companies. Their customer service isn't bad but they're is nothing special either. They are defiantly better than Comcast.
Hi Sebby, would you make an update video how to pay property taxes strategically using plastiq with which credit card? Idk if the last one.you made is still accurate as far afor the promo? Would CSR be one of the good roi for this case?
comel09 unless you’re meeting a minimum spend, CSR would be an awful card to use because you’d only be earning one UR per dollar spent. Even a freedom unlimited would be better since you’d be getting 1.5 UR. The short of it is to find a card where the return on spend eclipses the fee to pay taxes with a credit card (usually 2.3%).
Has anyone actually tried cancelling an Amex Card within the 1st 12 months? Did they actually claw back the bonus? I have one I want to cancel but it won't hit a year until February.
The Coin Alley yes. Because there are so many flavors of the Platinum card, common parlance in the credit card community is to refer to the regular Platinum as the vanilla Platinum. Vanilla, after all, is a euphemism for saying bland/boring.
I had a Chase Zappos, but it was changed to the Freedom Unlimited fairly quickly after I had gotten it.
Any news with the Ameriprise gold and Platinum? With the Mercedes Benz cards and the PRG changes, i don't know what to expect.

Darren Drake make sure to uses the credit that become available in January before canceling the card.
Hi Sebby - I currently have the Schwab Platinum card. Will I eligible for the Vanilla Platinum sign up bonus if I apply for it on your website?
Yep :)
Chase for sure. I don't know that they will however. I think that they might have found the credit card thing is not that good for them altogether.
Dont think Mercedes will go anywhere else. The benefits of the Platinum Mercedes seemed marginal.
I concur, but like BMW, they may op to come out with their own more indepent CC after receiving the buzz of having had a credit card with AMEX.
Isn’t it just basically $1000 off a new Mercedes?
I think the biggest perks of the Mercedes cards were related to leasing.

Evan Li get the Amex Blue Business Plus instead of the Everyday.
Trifecta would be: Platinum, Gold, and BBP.
Evan Li true, but given how malleable/broad the definition of a “business” is, many people are eligible.

I guess you cant apply for this card since the beginning of this year. 😒

Adam Smith can you please tell me the range of how much you spend the past year in order to get the 20k retention offer ?

Retention offer usually requires you to keep the account open (they say something like 8-12 weeks in the call when they read the terms IIRC).
What if Barclays takes mercedes card?
I wish Amex let you transfer MR points to Southwest.
Rishab Gangopadhyay Agreed!
Would love to see AMEX take Southwest away from Chase.
Can I product change the Citi Costco card?
I wouldn't think you can, but I would call Citi and ask them. They may be willing to do something if your a good customer.
Arthur R I would like to think of myself as a VERY good Citi customer and they do basically nothing for me!

You can PC to the Citi Costco, but not out of it: ruclips.net/video/EhCq1Pz_jA4/видео.html

Min spend (welcome bonuses) are still the most ideal, if you're able to add a new card.

vloh168 thank you! I don’t have Freedom Chase yet.. but i understand what you mean by it.

Bryan Wildes I suggest to call then and check if they can offer some points which sometimes upset the annual fee.
Angel Arias I Did and they gave me 10,000 points for 1500 in spend. I’m worried about triggering an FR or a clawback if I close the card
I believe that if you wait for annual fee to hit and pay it and then cancel within 30 day after paying it they will reimburse you the money, not sure
Which card do you want to cancel ?
Which credit card takes care of the disputes better?
Main none. They will build out your credit file, but you need to take care of collections/disputes to have good credit.
Someone please tell me wtf the Vanilla Platinum Card is??
the regular one
regular as in non-metal?
The Coin Alley the regular one is metal.
So the one with the $550 annual fee and the Uber credit? Why not just call it the Platinum card
The Coin Alley yes. Because there are so many flavors of the Platinum card, common parlance in the credit card community is to refer to the regular Platinum as the vanilla Platinum. Vanilla, after all, is a euphemism for saying bland/boring.
