Caught their show in Brisbane not long ago, got to hang out with Derek, Charlie and Ricky (or obnoxiously just hung around them lol) but stellar guys, outstanding performance on all fronts. New album seems a new lease of life for the band. Frank, you will be missed, but the legacy goes on...

I bought Effigy of the Forgotten in the year it was released. 20 years later I had to sell it to a second hand record shop for the sum of a measly pound. 2 weeks later I saw the said album hanging off the wall, like a prize moosehead selling for an astonishing £500! Fuck me, ain't I the ultimate moosehead. Ah, well, it was either that or starve or death...
Bro I know the pain. Sold my whole record collection for $7,000 last year I needed money. Was easily worth $30,000

This is the pinnacle! Absolute pleasure. The musicality is off the charts. Beats out the new Cannibal Corpse by an edge because of the drumming. Suffocation can be more quick and precise because of that. This record is immaculately produced. You can hear every minute thing clearly (only the bass is a bit low in the mix, but still works by broadening the sound). And Terrance, oh God, Terrance! He puts you into bliss. The Hobbs/Errigo onslaught is a thing of beauty and perfection.

I remember running into Ricky at a Suffocation show in Austin in 2015. I figured Sarcolytic, who is from Austin would be opening. I had no idea he was taking Franks spot until i saw him onstage.

Great new vocalist. He fills the spot nicely despite us obviously missing frank. Amazing drummer and bassist too. Hobbs is a guitar god as always. The only thing that could make this band better is getting mike smith back. He started this style of drumming ffs lol
Not saying the new drummer is any slouch hes kicking as much ass as mike used to. Even the cover art is great i love that they continue with the theme and artist. Im amazed how great this album is. Hobbs just keeps getting better when you think its impossible. Love it.

Waited a while for this one and it does NOT disappoint. Mr. Hobbs, you and the rest of your crew delivered a stunningly heavy and killer album. On my list to get of course, as I have all the other Suffo albums, EPs and demos. And props to Ricky for his studio debut on vox with Suffocation. He doesn't need to be Frank, nor is he a replacement for Frank. He is part of the continuation that is Suffocation's place among the elite in death metal and extreme metal. Huge smile on my face listening to this. \m/
i dont know. its good but i prefer the previous vocalist. his lyrics are sick and the delivery is very unique. the new vocalist is kinda typical... as far as the delivery of words

A third priceless emerald in the Death Metal Crown of 2023 - with Chaos Horrific and Make Them Beg for Death😈☠️ But - what makes this album very special and outstanding for me personally is that amazing subbass kicks (or was that downtuned bass string?) in some crescendo riffs. Tbh, couldn't immediately figure out what specifically was used to create such a doomsday bass kick effect

The Bass is just perfect...you can hear it clearly but its not too loud....I like those fingerslides on the strings you can hear here and there... vocals are sick af...such a brutal masterpiece of an album...suffocation and dying fetus never dissapoints

After listening Suffo 33 years they still suprises, like in the first album...This one needs lots of digesting like all the others. And I like there is lots of dynamics and I heard some black metal tunes...Nice! Ricky fits there like nails in the coffin, Brutal. Nice job guys, I wait to see you live again...and come to fuking Finland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes. Finde ich auch. Aber das CC Album ist auch nicht schlecht. Wie du sagst. Das Suffocation Album hat die bessere Qualität. Mit Abstand sogar. Bedeutend besser gemischt und produziert. Ich liebe trotzdem alle beide Bands. Ohne diese Bands wäre der Death Metal Markt langweilig. 😉
