Mick Jagger wrote this song with future Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood at Ronnie’s house. They recorded it there with Bowie on backing vocals, and Willie Weeks on bass, Kenny Jones on drums. It’s a Stones song with very few actual Stones on the studio version. EDIT: forgot to mention Keith recorded over much of Ronnie’s guitar after Mick showed it to the boys, making Mick & Keith the only (official) Stones on the recording. Shout out to Dan Hartzog for catching that!

So here I am, up on my uncle’s shoulders, watching ladies ripping their tops off and throwing their panties on stage while Mick prances around with this ridiculous outfit: a football jersey cut off at the midriff, cut off sweat pants with strings hanging off of them and those ‘70s tube socks with three different colored stripes. BTW Linda Ronstadt came out to sing ‘Tumbling Dice’ with Mick. My lawd, I was never the same!

"Time waits for no one" is sauce. "Heading over to Australian and Hawaiian Internationals, and then me and Mick are going to wing on over to London and jam with the Stones."
Love that quote from Fast Times😎

I love watching Andy. He steps right into the tune. He mentioned the garage band sound and he said it right because that’s what it really is.

Your love of music, the enthusiasm & analysis are fantastic. Thanks for helping others realize how amazing this old guitar based music is.

I have to tell you guys how amazing you are! Not to creep you out or anything. Haha. I’ve heard all the songs you critique probably thousands of times over my lifetime. I hear the words and the story they tells for the mood they put me I. And the same with the music. You guys pick it the aspects of the song with changes and their meaning or or tones or rhythmical elements. Things I never paid any real attention to. Anyway. Great job. And if you want more Rush, listen to Battle Scar by a band called Max Webster. Canadian band from Toronto Canada like Rush. If you like what you hear, The Party and/or Diamonds Diamonds. Growing up Max Webster/Kim Mitchel had the ultimate outdoor festival kind of vibe.

The Stones' Get yer ya ya's out is one of the best live albums ever recorded-jumpin jack flash, midnight rambler(amazing!) honky tonk woman, street fighting man, sympathy for the devil and chuck berry's little queenie and carol.
