I always loved this video. I saw its premier on the Midnight Special late night TV show as a teenager. I guess it was 1974. This was Mick Taylors last album with the Stones. Mick Taylor is the blond guitarist. Taylor had a very serious heroin habit and had his doubts he would survive if he kept up a Stones lifestyle. Also of note is that poor Charlie Watts almost was drowned by the bubbles. It's hilarious as his drum kit disappears in bubbles. Rest in Peace Charlie!

The answer for me to the old question "Beatles or Stones?" Beatles music is awesome, but nothing beats the Stones. And they stayed together as a band and as friends.
Keith Richards is notorious for his partying lifestyle. Drinking, smoking, drugs, and women. So many rockers who have lived the same way have not made it, but "Keef" is still kickin'! And you have to admire Charlie Watts for keeping the beat going when he's covered with foam in this video.
Yes the Stones, especially Keith Richards (lead guitar), were extreme partiers but I can name a dozen other bands that partied harder than Kiss! Like Led Zeppelin, The Who, and later bands like Def Leppard and Guns and Roses were extreme partiers! 💕🎸🎼 It's only rock and roll!

No I'm sorry but Keith Moon took extreme partying to another level but you can't really say " The Who " as a band were really hard partyers. Pete drank and done drugs a bit as did John,Roger was the most boring rock star ever, hardly drank,no real drugs etc a few groupies was it. Also the same for Led Zep,Jimmy Page and John Bonham YES but Robert and John Paul Jones didn't really party to the same level,so I don't think The Who and Led Zep can be said to be on the same level as the rest for partying because as a band they were a lot tamer than others BUT some of their members were real party animals, Keith Moon takes top spot according to all their peers,Eric Clapton felt he didn't have a problem after getting smashed with Moon all day ( Eric was drinking 2 bottles of brandy a day at this time 😂)
Just a correction here, Keith is not a lead guitar. He's famously the best right hand in the business. Ronnie plays lead in the Stones. This being said, Keith is the king of rhythm and riffs.
At 5:00 you see someone walk out and a few seconds later Taylor and Richards are laughing. True story, Charlie is the drummer seated while everyone else is standing. Turns out Charlie almost drowned and had to get out cause he was chocking. The guitar players were laughing
Im Keefs book he when they did this they completely forgot that Charlie was sitting down, Keef said he looked around and all he could see was the top of Charlies hat
Mick Taylor is the second guitarist in this video, but he didn't actually play on the song. Ronnie Wood, the current second guitar played acoustic guitar on the record and Keith played electric guitar.
I didn't recall offhand that Mick Taylor (the blonde guitarist) was still in the band at this point. But that's definitely not Ron Wood (his replacement). Huh. I always thought the lyrics were about Mick feeling burnt out by the pressure of being creative ("dig down deep in my soul, spill it all over the page") and being angry at the audience, that he feels is never satisfied ("Would it be enough for your teenage lust? Would you think the boy is strange?"). But the chorus is his calming himself, telling himself he doesn't have to be deep and profound every time, there's nothing wrong with just plain "rock and roll", as opposed to the deeper work from earlier in the decade. Which, fair enough. This is an old favorite of mine. (The "suicide right on the stage" lyric got me good.). But OTOH, the songs from the late '70s do seem simpler than the Nixon-era songs. Which is why "Sticky Fingers" and "Exile on Main St." make the "greatest albums of all time" lists, and "Some Girls" and "Black and Blue" don't. It's not just that Mick Taylor was a better guitarist than Ron Wood. (Mick often played LEAD guitar, relegating Keith Richards to rhythm. Whereas Keith has pretty much always been the big dog with Woody in the band.) Next? Maybe "Monkey Man"? (It's not racist.). Or perhaps "Let It Bleed"? (Mick does like to sing about blood, doesn't he?) Thanks for the good work.

Mick apparently works out prior to each and every show the stones perform live. He delivers a high energy show only which is a hallmark of they’re success and being labeled the best rock’n roll band ever! I tend to agree.

Mick Jagger had been a question as to whether he would still be playing in a band at the age of 3o. Most of the people and groups that the Stones came over with during the British Invasion in 1964, the Sound of Motown, Woodstock, the Summer of Love, the hippy movement, the Beatles, the Doors, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Brian Jones, and other trends had cone and gone, how much longer was he planning to continue in a Rock-n-Roll band? This song and album came out in Oct of 1974. It was answer to the question as the Stones were still a popular touring group. I remember hearing the song on the radio during my junior year in high school in Bedford, Mass. As the 7o's were turning into a period of softer reflection following the Vietnam War and disco was beginning its ascent, my friends and I claimed this song as our anthem. We loved the loose jamming rhythm and biting lyrics, as Mick and the boys, and David Bowie's guitar, just what needed to hear. We also heard about their audacious use of a giant inflatable phallus onstage, which got them into trouble with authorities the following spring. This song played on the radio and everywhere for most of the next year. It's still my go to song when I need motivating almost 5o years later. The reason is simple. Because, I KNOW IT'S ONLY ROCK-N-ROLL (BUT I LIKE IT). Yes, I do. Other songs, HAPPY HEARTBREAKER, and by the way, the Rolling Stones love country, too. Checkout SILVER TRAIN and FAR AWAY EYES. Enjoy.
LOL, and Keith Richards is like the walking dead, homeboy has seen some shit in his lifetime as far as partying goes. Every time I see him all I can think of is Bernie from the movie "Weekend at Bernies"
Mick Taylor (The Blond guitarist) joined the Stones in 69, but by '74 the rough and hedonistic lifestyle of the band was too much for him and he left for his own health's sake, to be replaced by a guy who fit in with thier image more--Ron Wood, who's still with 'em today. And yes, Lex..there's some recent performances by the Stones on utube,-they're the most energetic old geezers I've ever seen!
The funny thing about the promos for the material from It's Only Rock ‘n’ Roll (1974) is how engaged Taylor seemed before departing. On the “Ain't Too Proud to Beg” promo, he's moving and singing and smiling even more than here. That was never the case in the other promos or documented live performances during his tenure with the band. He seemed much more comfortable in 1974.
Drummer Charlie Watts like all the Rolling Stones collected cars, Watts never had a driving licence, preferring to view his cars as beautiful objects. Charlie Watts was also a fan of cricket, and had a collection of cricket memorabilia. Watts expressed a love-hate attitude towards touring,[34] stating in 2003 that he "loved playing with Keith [Richards] and the band" but "wasn't interested in being a pop idol sitting there with girls screaming".[16] In 1989, the Rolling Stones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Watts did not attend the ceremony.[16] Watts's personal life appeared to be substantially quieter than those of his bandmates and many of his rock-and-roll colleagues; onstage, he was always laid back in counterpoint to his flamboyant bandmates. Known for his loyalty to Shirley, his wife who he married on 14 October 1964. They remained married until his death in 2021.
there is also an official video where they perform this song while soap bubbles start coming in to the set and building up. the bubbles got so high that the band finally fled the set to avoid being smothered to death.
Kiss may have had a reputation for partying, but most of them have been sober for years. The Stones, on the other hand, were hard-core partyers. Keith Richards is especially known for his party days.
Fun fact: Keith got busted with heroin judge dismissed it cause a blind girl came forward ad told her how Keith would make arrangements for her to go to their shows ( in the early days) andget home safely. If that's not R&R Idk what is 🤘
Interesting fact, although Charlie Watts is in this video it’s actually Kenny Jones playing the drums on this track and on the album track. Always found it amusing when Charlie passed and the radio stations kept play this as a tribute and it wasn’t even him playing 🤣🤣
Back in that day and time the older folks hated Rock and Roll and thought it would be the ruin of us young people. Many of us young people at that time believe in peace, love, free speech and not always following the sheep and questioning the establishment

Yes, I do.
Other songs, HAPPY
HEARTBREAKER, and by the way, the Rolling Stones love country, too. Checkout SILVER TRAIN and FAR AWAY EYES. Enjoy.
Love their concerts. Haven't been to one since the Sars benefit in Toronto. But I've seen them about half a dozen times since 4th July 78 in Buffalo
Buffalo always a great Stones city.
LOL, and Keith Richards is like the walking dead, homeboy has seen some shit in his lifetime as far as partying goes. Every time I see him all I can think of is Bernie from the movie "Weekend at Bernies"
You took the words right out of my mouth!
Seriously. Personally, I think he died 20 years ago - it's just that his body refuses to admit it and lay down.
I think Tina Turner would give them a run for their money.
The Mick Taylor years! Best of the Stones.
Stones for Ever😈🎼🎩🎸🎶🎶🎶👅
It’s like a terrible accident, you dont want to see it, but cant take yours eyes off it. 😂 one of the best stones songs for me.
Watts did not attend the ceremony.[16]
Watts's personal life appeared to be substantially quieter than those of his bandmates and many of his rock-and-roll colleagues; onstage, he was always laid back in counterpoint to his flamboyant bandmates. Known for his loyalty to Shirley, his wife who he married on 14 October 1964. They remained married until his death in 2021.
2:45 Lexi ,”They probably partied more than kids”. LOL! 🤣
Lexie does a great Mick Jagger impression., Brad likes it. So do i.
Keith is a little weathered looking 😆
there is also an official video where they perform this song while soap bubbles start coming in to the set and building up. the bubbles got so high that the band finally fled the set to avoid being smothered to death.
It’s this video clip watch the end and Charlie has suds all over his face
Yes Keith Richards was inspiration for Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean…..
Yep he parties Keith Richards did very much very much very much
I SAY ... PROLLY THEIR BEST SONG ... WELL MAYBE 'START ME UP'
It's only Rock and Roll but Lex "Liked it"!!!🤣
In those days few people asKieth Richards. Legendary.
My favorite Stones song
React to "Love Is Strong", and "Hey Negrita", by The Rolling Stones
I really enjoy the Black and Blue album
This was one of the coolest videos ever recorded.🤘
Who but the Stones could make something as crazy and funny as this ?
Y'all need to listen to Love in Vain by The Rolling Stones live from Get Yer Ya Ya's Out
Kiss may have had a reputation for partying, but most of them have been sober for years.
And Ronnie Wood co-wrote it with Jagger, whilst he was still in The Faces, and didn't get a co-write credit.
Rocks off by the stones. Lex will love it
I get real encouragement from the fact that Keith Richards is still alive(?) as of this moment. If he can survive his lifestyle I can survive mine.
Mike Miers SNL did some awesome Jagger imitations.
Mick Jagger is pretty well spoken. When he talks, he has a typical mannered London accent.
Back in that day and time the older folks hated Rock and Roll and thought it would be the ruin of us young people. Many of us young people at that time believe in peace, love, free speech and not always following the sheep and questioning the establishment
I haven't seen this video in along time and it's with Mick Taylor. To me him leaving the Rolling Stones is like giving away the golden goose.😅
Their logo is the big lips. Few people can open their mouth that far AND sing.
