I bought the Kramer Striker / Black with Maple Neck HSS and the pickups turned out sounds fantastic! I'm not sure if it's a fluke with these guitars, or they just made some of the best sound pickups I've heard in decades. It has those stupid barrel input jacks. I very carefully drilled out the hole on mine to fit a Switchcraft jack and bought a input jack plate for a Gibson Les Paul. They fit these bodies very well and carefully predrill the screw holes very slowly through tape on the body so you don't crack your gloss paint job. Use painter tape for the large drill hole for the jack as well. Then remove the tape and wire it all together. No more sh@tty wiggle barrel jacks that wear out so easily to me. I also had to change my tuning keys to some nice GHOTO's. 21mm posts since Kramers headstocks are thicker than regular guitars, and I sanded the neck profile so it was not a baseball bat. A bit more thin, but not a speed neck like Ibanez. It now plays like a $1,000+ guitar, easily for about $445.00US. But I thought about getting this one you have, and maybe some day I will. But yes these black guitars have swirls in them. They just don't take the time. But I love your guitar!

Yes the 59 on this one does sound amazing! I like it for sure. The finish is really good on it I just anticipate overtime it will start to get some marks on it😀

"going to wait the 24 hours before unboxing it" - this is the most ridiculous myth in the freaking world. Sweetwater also fucked you with the poor setup - I'd be asking for a refund on the Plek - they should have had an impeccable setup with the Floyd. Same for the jack. Yout got screwed.

ive heard of acclimating hardwood flooring but never a guitar until i heard it on youtube when someone got a gibson. it is ridicules but its also not my guitar or money so lol. waiting wont do anything cus its already waited 41 years. whatever was gonna shrink has done so long ago. watch this be brand new and just a throw back model and im retarded. stil wouldnt have to acclimate it tho. i like the guitar tho.. to be positive..

Ha! Yea same thing I was thinking, I was on the fence about waiting the 24 hours but we had a ridiculous cold snap right in the days it was shipping (Day it arrived it had been -20 overnight) first guitar I ever waited to open, The Tremelo was pretty decent when it arrived as far as being level but im ocd about that stuff and wanted to adjust it a bit, the input jack is a bummer but didn't happen for a few weeks after getting it.

Poly finished guitars can be opened right off the truck on a freezing day. Gibson figured out they could cause checking by freezing and heating in their nitro and probably thought huh we can blame our poor fit and finish on the customer they opened the box too soon, it’s ridiculous if I get a new toy I’m opening it that day, the only thing that could change is the way the setup feels due to temperatures so you probably should wait a day or so to set one up if you don’t want to be chasing your tail. You acclimate wood floor because it expands and contracts if you lay the floor before it’s adjusted to the climate of your house, you’ll wind up with gaps and bulges from the expanding and contracting while it’s settling to your climate. Dylan talks tone left a couple of his guitars in his car over night when temperatures were below freezing brought them in and started playing them immediately and said that it felt the same setup wise and everything, pretty much busting the acclimatizing your guitar myth.
"the crack at the nut is due to customer opening guitar too soon" non warrantable customer caused fault 😂

    1. It’s not “the” holy grail. Only a real 83 is.
    2. It’s NOT spec’d like a 83. Different pickup, etc.
    3. Loose parts are UNACCEPTABLE on a $2200 guitar.
    4. For its features it’s about a $1200 guitar, not a $2200 one.
    5. You’ve been had by Gibson/Kramer marketing.

Ibanez gives you two more pups and a superior trem system for around 1000 dollars with the 550 Genesis MIJ and incredibly versatile.
These are too expensive for what they are, 1200-1500 would be a fair price, Japanese guitars have been increasing in prices creeping up to about the 2000 dollar mark for average MIJ guitars. What factory builds these for Gibson? I’m not knocking Japanese guitars I prefer them as the best made most consistent and the cost for quality puts anything built anywhere else to shame. Gibson is counting on nostalgia expecting some 80s babies finally having disposable income, 2200 for these lol , you can find plenty of OG real deal used for that kind of money, when the reissue costs as much as the real thing why wouldn’t you just get the real thing. Gibson shooting to make Japanese guitars 3-4 k so they can charge you 1500-2000 for a Chinese Epiphone and eventually charge custom shop prices for regular Gibson USA guitars wouldn’t want those things winding up in the hands of working musicians or hobbyists.

I will say its not for everyone, but it was exactly what I was looking for, I knew it would be a one trick pony but I wasn't expecting it to be anything other than that, granted the pickup is a 59 and yea was a bummer a few weeks after getting it the input jack came loose (wanted to give an honest review on it) but to be honest, there isn't any of my guitars I haven't tweaked or had an allen wrench or screw driver to making some kind of adjustments to it. Don't know about the Kramer/Gibson marketing angle never really paid attention to it, I just enjoy playing and like guitars that put a smile on my face and this one does just that x 10! I have everything from a 200 dollar Firefly (Which is great btw, gonna do a review on it!) to my RR1, KM6 some LP's etc. and this one hands down plays better than any of them. But to each there own, However I can say I really do enjoy playing this guitar and am very happy I got it.

@ it’s your guitar and I agree I’ve always tinkered with mine to at any price the thing about Kramers is they were assembled in the US with foreign components they were basically selling parts casters someone figured out let’s get some great necks made and pay people enough to assemble them and set them up correctly. I think the OG Kramer guys realize Gibson isn’t going to grow and allow any innovation in the Kramer line, that’s kinda how I feel I bought a Beretta special just to mod and have a hokey/ banana headstock even though it’s not exactly the same but I felt a little guilty ultimately giving money to Gibson the MIJ Wolfgang’s are close to or a little over 3 k I actually think the new Japanese Kramers are really cool just too expensive for me to justify you can get into some used boutique super strats for 2200 but if it’s a top of the line Kramer that you want these are the best they have and you gotta pay to play. As long as you’re happy with it is all that matters.

@ mine wasn’t playable out of the box like many reviews say but for the money it’s about what I expected definitely better than any 200 dollar guitar was back in my early days playing
