I have to disagree, Vic, I don't think this was always Xbox's plan. I think Game Pass was the plan for Xboxes and PC, but it failed to do the numbers it needed to for how much they were spending on third party content. Then Xbox fumbled their IPs and franchises, fell way behind Sony and Nintendo in hardware sales, and then got the mandate from the c-suite to put their games elsewhere to make up that difference. I think, now, they'll become a third-party with some of their own hardware, but because the c-suite wants money and Game Pass subs, not because that's what Xbox wanted to do.

I think multi-platform was always the goal.
@EPN I think that was just wishful thinking because the Switch is portable and everyone wanted to play everything on the go. I think that was before devices like the Steam Deck and Ally too. Xbox was in a better financial and hardware place too, and before their biggest acquisitions.

I love the direction Xbox is headed in. Gamepass Ultimate and xCloud letting me stream games right on my smartphone paired with a phone controller like Backbone. It’s all such an awesome time for gamers

First off, I love Forbes becoming part of the EPNU, having loved Paul Tassi's articles. Your passion for your favourite franchises are always a friendly reminder of why I avoid 'anti-woke' outrage. Am I concerned about how Yasuke is portrayed? Of course, but not enough to steer clear of playing another fun Assassin's Creed game, especially in Shadows' Japanese setting. As for Spidey, diversity is nothing new, besides when you've got Colman Domingo (Fear the Walking) and Zeno Robinson (Attack on Titan English Dub) playing Norman and Harry Osborn! I dig its animation too! Also, I've always considered Nintendo to be in their own ballpark and outside the console war. While Microsoft hasn't been purrfect, I still prefer their direction under Satya Nadella and Phil Spencer, especially ending their side of the anticonsumer console wars. Being in the PC master race, I never cared for exclusivity anyway and find holding onto it childish. Thank you for sharing, Vic!

I really want Forza Horizon and Fable on PS5, so i'm very happy they are bringing Xbox games to PS5.
Plus Microsoft bought so many good studios like Double Fine, Bethesda, Obsidian, etc. I want to be able to play their games.

I'm an "old" gamer - first started on an Atari 2600 and playing SMB 1 on a stand-up arcade machine at Chuck e. Cheese way back. So I've witnessed - and been embarrassed by - all the console fanboys. I think it's a fantastic time to be a gamer right now. I own all the consoles and am a heavy PC gamer too.
Right now I'm playing Starfield on Xbox Game Pass (PC version) via GeForce Now using a PS5 controller - imagine telling yourself a decade ago that that would be a thing. I love the direction gaming is heading, love Game Pass, and would love to see more platform agnostic games and "exclusives".
If I can play a game on a Radeon or RTX card, let me play on either a Playstation or Xbox. Let the fanboys complain/brag about specs instead of exclusives.
I'm definitely a fan boy who complains about specs. I gave up on console gaming entirely because I got tired of nearly all the games running at 30FPS. Once you play PC games that run at 120fps, you can never go back to 30fps. I'm so spoiled with PC gaming, that I no longer even like 60fps. Like you I also game on PC with a controller. I use the XBOX controller. I don't like the Playstation controller because I find the thumbsticks are spaced too close together. Feels awkward in my hand.
more of that terrible 15fps "animation" that gives me a headache...i don't get it at all, is it super cheap to create?

I've stopped playing AC games for a while now. Was hoping Shadows would be good enough to get me back into them but looks like Ubisoft didn't really improve much and now half the game is just a hack n slash type game and the combat still looks clunky. But South of Midnight looks amazing! That and Doom and Ninja Gaiden 4 I'm very excited for! Thanks vic for great videos
Ghost of Tsushima was a good game, but it sure dragged out way too long. The game should have been about 30 hours shorter. I believe it took me close to 70 hours to finish. I spent about a full month on the game. 10-15 hours is the perfect length for a game. But I don't have a problem with games being even shorter than 10 hours. I'd rather a game be too short than too long. Another really good game that dragged out way too long was Days Gone. One of the longest games I've ever played.

Games are way too expensive to make now, why would you limit yourself to where you can sell those games. And too expensive to buy these days, I usually wait for sales on games unless its on Game Pass

Thing about ac is I love the history of the setting origins was so good I love Egypt mystery. But when they start adding giant wolves as mounts and such I loose interest.

I have given my opinion on this on Twitter the other day. I think we the consumer are going to lose here because of Xbox is putting everything to all consoles it will not have Sony in a state of competition and competition drives innovation it drives forward new ideas creativity all comes from competition one trying to outdo the other. So again I'm going to say I respectfully disagree with you Victor. I think this is the wrong road for the industry to head in. There's already almost no games and just remakes and remasters happening nowadays because Sony has no competition they've never seen Nintendo as a threat which I do think they should but they don't. I think Nintendo is the only one here that has that in mind and they prove it all the time that it doesn't matter the hardware power it matters what they create on that hardware and I think Sony has lost their way and same with Xbox. I get the frustration of seeing a game on a certain console and then not having that console and you have to go out and buy more and what not but this is the way it's been and it's the way it should be. The only thing I have in rebuttal to that would be is when certain franchises start off multi-platform and then they turn to exclusive rights that is not good we the consumer lose but as always can't wait for another classic episode of EP see you Saturday #playforever 💕💕

Honestly I couldn't care less about historical accuracy, the assassin's aren't historically accurate (obviously) but no one seems to have an issue there because they can't commodify that as political discourse. Why must everything be a scandal for online engagement? It's an industry unto itself and it's corroding the medium. I'm going to play it, enjoy it, then move on with my life.

I'm so bored with open world games. Open world games drag out way too long, and are always extremely repetitive. I much prefer to play a short linear games game like Resident Evil, Dead Space or DOOM. Those games are the perfect length, and never become repetitive fetch-quest borefests.

I liked Tenchu, if playing with the woman is like tenchu it might be ok. The world is made pretty. Yasuke has no place and time in this game.

Its a historical sci-fi game, the internet lost its collective minds because RACIST are utilizing the fact that a massive amount of Ass Creed and non Ass Creed players forgot Ass Creed was never historical accuracy period peaces.
