The number one killer of infantry is indirect fires, often preregistered or corrected by drones. All the time you spend concentrating your eyes on a linear, 2D, horizon is seconds lost, getting to objective or cover, and thus out of the way of called support.
This is what is chewing up the Infantry in Donbas. This is what is stupid about fighting a FLOC based rather than interpositional combat system. Because the dirt doesn't care who owns it. No matter how many times you water it with your blood, it's still dirt.
