I don't get it, you are using a talkbox, but using a talkbox patch that generates the talkbox sound? Why use a plugin, when you already have the real deal?
Did I overlook something in this video?
a talkbox patch is just a patch that sounds good while playing it through a talkbox. hes using massive as the synth that plays into his mouth.

thanks for the info on using massive for the talkbox, ive been searching the whole web and couldnt find the right vst to get a nice smooth roger troutman effect. i didnt and couldnt use your patch cause a error message came up but i took time and manipulate my own sound. will be puttn up the track soon as i finish. thanks dilliot2k

Ay for real though, thank you for making this patch, I have been looking for a decent DX100 vst for a while with no luck. But this is literally the best sounding patch for massive that I've come across yet.

hey man, I really love talkboxes and i also play the keyboard, but I've checked online and it seems there's really expensive talkboxes and some really simple diy talkboxes etc. Do you think it's doable to build a talkbox that can be amplified (as in containing a membrane microphone or something) and what's a good,cheap talkbox to get to begin with?
Reversed82 yes it is very easy to build your own talkbox. You can start off with a Banshee talkbox, but beware , it will break down if you use it alot.
Just use a cheap amp and 6" speaker, and stick a kitchen funnel over the speaker and attach a plastic tube to the end.

How in the world did you get the vocals through the patch?
His vocals aren't going through the patch. The patch from Massive is traveling into his talkbox, and that sound travels up through the tube and echos around in his mouth (which he didn't show or explain in the video). That's how a talkbox works. It can be done with a synth, an electric guitar, a bass guitar, etc.

OHB 500 The Talk Box is always recorded the exact same way...... through a microphone. You simply create an audio track, connect your mic to your audio interface, and start playing and recording..... the same way you would record a plain ol’ vocal track.

OHB 500 I’ve never used FL Studio before in my life, so I made that comment thinking that FL Studio is just like any other DAW. Is that not the case? A typical DAW allows you to record audio tracks, instrument tracks, and midi tracks.

I'm probably just stupid but how the hell do you get massive to work as a vocoder or talkbox in the first place? Or is this patch just a patch to use as the synth for a vocoder?

it's not running as a vocoder. he has routed the output from the vst to a physical output (probably through an audio interface) and into a talkbox like the rocktron banshee.

The preset available through this video is pretty good for signal input, besides that, you just need a reliable external talkbox device to merge your vowels and the synth signal. I recommend the Rocktron Banshee.

how do i use this effect inside of fl studio? like what hardwares should i buy????!!
Get something reliable like the Rocktron Banshee, connect one output from your audio interface to the input of the Banshee. Then you grab another cable to connect audio going out from the Banshee to an available input on your audio interface. Setup a recording track in FL Studio to record the incoming audio from the talkbox output cable. Make sure you have a cool synth like Massive sending sound to your talkbox device. You have to be flexible and willing to wire things up.

Skyvoice Official The way a talkbox works is you have an analog keyboard, where the actual sound of the keyboard goes through the tube, which creates this very awesome kinda filtered sound.
The reason you put it into your mouth, is because you can shape the sound with your mouth, to generate humanly words. So now you kinda have words coming out of your keyboard, through the tube. To record the talkbox, you simply put a mic up to your tube, or in other words, your mouth, and then you will record the tube in which the words are formed. You won't have any of your voice's characteristics, since no sound is coming out of your mouth at all, you are just shaping the sound. The only sound that actually comes from your mouth, is when you pronounce the consonants, like the t sound, s sound you name them, so you actually have words that can be understood.
I know your comment is old, but hopefully this gives you a little insight on how it works.
The more you overdo the shaping of your mouth, the more the words are gonna be clear and understandable, so you need to practice mouth and throat shaping.
