Would prefer it in 1/18 scale for compatibility with action figures. However, I'll take what I can get at this point. Definitely, looking forward to seeing more VF-1 Valkyries in larger scales.
I want this, but as a true 1:18 (I guess 1:20 will suffice) kit that can go into Gerwalk, Jet, and full on Battroid mode. Then I can deck it out as Jetfire, and use it with 1:18 scale action figures. The possibilities if they sold booster kits, weapon packs, modification kits. If we assemble it, we can disassemble to modify. It would need a metal skeleton with plastic skin pieces. So, so cool!
Wow just saw this now! I’ve preordered the Prime1 and can’t wait for it to arrive next year. I wouldn’t mind this as well! Next month I’ll finally be getting the KitzConcept 1/72 VF-1S Roy Fokker after much delay. This is a beautiful kit though I’ve never painted one before. Still want this! **Edit: Just saw its sold out of course
It's a snap fit kit but if you want to use cement or glue for that extra fit works too : ) . Would recommend using extra thin cement if you choose to go that route .
How difficult would it be to assemble this? Would i need to paint this myself? How long does it take to do a model kit, never done one before but i really want this.
$1,500 dollars? I mean he looks absolutely amazing forsure! But $1,500..that's crazy. I rather get an HT Hulkbuster. Great video and have a merry Christmas. 🎄
Very nice detail. I'm not buying it because I'm not into toys like this but I'm sure it's the best GERWALK/Guardian mode Valkyrie anybody's produced. Certainly should be accurate at that scale and price! I can't see why you'd need a display piece bigger than that. A nearly 2-ft model is nothing to sneeze at! The reason why it doesn't transform? It's expensive to produce a ONE-MODE model kit at this scale, and, face it, the fighter and battloid modes at least would be deformed (dimension-adjusted) to make the transformations work. If you've ever compared the line drawings to the transforming toys, yep, they've squashed them a bit to make the TF's work. I'd rather buy the Macross series on Blu ray for that amount of money but I still wouldn't do that without subtitles! Glad to see they're including different headstyles. The VF-1S Skull One is still my favorite all-time mecha.
I'd love to get a subtitled Blu ray set of the original Macross, too, but it's not happening. It's the damned licensing squabble between Big West, Tatsunoko, and Harmony Gold. I think Harmony Gold will be out of the spotlight shortly since they are set to lose the rights to the animation footage that makes up Robotech. That footage all belongs to or is distributed internationally by Tatsunoko. HG is losing the Macross footage (the MOST POPULAR part of Robotech!!!) because they didn't pay the license fees Tatsunoko felt they were owed from streaming and whatever else HG has done with Robotech for the past 10 years -- which is not much besides trying to get a live-action movie made from a TV show where they CAN'T use any of the classic mecha designs! They're legally barred from using anything that resembles the classic VF-1 or SDF-1 designs. Good luck selling THAT movie! I can tell you right now people will NOT like a film with generic designs that do not resemble the TV series vehicles people grew up with. Right now, the only part of Macross I own on Blu ray personally is the 1984 film, Do You Remember Love. They released it on a budget Blu ray over a year ago in Japan. (At least it wasn't edited or censored like the movie was when it was released bundled with a game for the PS3!) Of course, it's not subtitled but I know the story well enough to follow it. They DID release the SDF Macross TV series on DVD in the US but that was nearly 20 years ago and the last licensed, pressed DVD release went out of print over 10 years ago... They did an English dub of SDF Macross around 2005-2006 but frankly the Robotech dub was better...
Transformers And Power Rangers Toy Reviews itll come out, prob like 2000 hold reservations before they start production and only release like 2500 like how takara does it
Just imagine, twenty years from now, we'll probably have kits that transform at this scale with this level of detail... This can do for now though LOLZ #DoWant
bruh what do you mean cheaper? ok you dont need to add 150 euros of shipping tax but all recent pg (unicorn lighting exia red frame and so on) are all around that price range
Touche i suppose but a Cybertronian's Robot Mode is their more interesting form. A Valkyrie's is rarely the Gerwalk Mode. That's just a derpy intermediary form like some Pokemon evolution chains; you don't get a Squirtle to have it as a Wartortle, you evolve that mofo in to a friggin Blastoise. Also there are Gundam model kits that transform. (Or at least some Master Grades, The Perfect/Real Grade Zeta and some High Grades) This thing is probably stupidly expensive due to it's bulk anyway and it's not even like a Perfect Grade which, because they're so big, can have all the necessary features they should have but this thing can't even transform at it's immense size. It's an expensive paperweight. (But then again, what else are you to do with a statue)
pennyfortheguy the real question is why don't we have it already? I have a bunch of the 1/60 and a couple PG as well I think unicorn and banshee would be awesome at two even 4ft tall lighting included of course . Especially with a automatic transform mode that would be a excellent build. Sinanju also needs a 1/60 kit asap.
pennyfortheguy I definitely know that anyone will buy anything if it's marketed right. Don't know about business? Then tell me why any that are bigger than 1/60 sell out so fast. People like you with that kind of negativity is why we are so limited on things available because it's not"feasible". That narrow mindedness is what limits a business instaed of the sky's the limit model. You may know "business" but apparently you don't know about the consumer and what they are willing to pay for.
pennyfortheguy hmm immature I just know that any time they do limited runs for Stuff over the 1/60 grade it always sells out so who's stupid now? Just because people are a fans of stuff doesn't mean it should have it's limitations to what they can and can't do with it or buy because of it. Yes us fans live in the fandom, yes we may see something or have an idea to want to see something made that is thier personal preference. Is that not what a fandom is? I mean come on people are building life size Star Wars vehicles and movie accurate costumes and selling those. How many superfans of Ghostbusters, anime, Marvel, Dc, and other fandoms make their own stuff and sell it on Etsy? I don't expect a corporate person to understand fandom but just be mindful of those who do. That which may seem childish and dumb to you may be something representing something that held a person together through the roughest parts in their lives. So you can mock anything you wish get mad as much as you want but I'm sitting back here laughing at each statement because it shows your ignorance to what a fan or super fan of something is.
Aka Jetfire, yup, they borrowed that character from Macross. Interesting read here: www.denofgeek.com/movies/transformers/31240/the-strange-story-of-jetfire-and-other-transformers-toys
There’s no way that any normal person will be able to get this for $320 because every scalpers gonna buy them up and try selling them for $600 minimum it’s all bullshit Bandai never makes enough kits for everybody so only a few people will ever be able to get their hands on a retail price kit for $320 good luck I’m not wasting my time trying
So what it’s a plastic model kit & only a few people have to talent to make it look as good as what we see in the video & $320 for a plastic kit we got to paint we got to build is way overpriced for something this common . it would be better to buy the working toy model that’s already painted & looks Beautiful for half the price. Now if I can get a already painted working replica half this size for $120 wouldn’t it be better to just make a working replica twice the size for $240 ya makes a lot of sense doesn’t it ? Now how do you feel about a $320 non painted plastic kit that cost them almost nothing to mold that you have to build & paint your self ? Ya out of the hundreds of thousands of kits they’ll make how many will end up looking as good as what you see in this video just saying..... & yes I know I’m very bitter I’m just sick of all the bullshit scams that businesses do to get peoples money leaving most unhappy 😞 & unsatisfied when it’s not that hard to make something that almost every one would like & can afford but that’s just me.
you know a lot of us can actually get a model kit to look this good. not me mind you, but I am slowly getting there. also, it is a model, not a collectible, its meant for people who love getting their hands dirty to make their works look like what they want them to. if you just want a cool vf1out of the box then you should get a statue, but model kits are not a scam, they are just meant for a different audience that is in love with making something unique out of their kits. collecting is also cool but what can I say, that's just not my style ;)
The first generation Macross is still the best!

Omggg I love it!!! Someone should pick up this franchise and reboot it!
OH MY GOOOD
Wow, I so want one
Max of Max Factory.
If I get that, I would be so tempted to just mod it into a fighter mode, or try to make it so it could be displayed in either fighter or Gerwalk.
Awesome! Love it!

You should check out how some of the builders have modded their VF-1 Gerwalk Macross ! You should get this kit!
Holy crap!?😳👍 look of the size !!
Better buy it before it goes out of print
Awesome Toys want to buy ,but out my budget money 😭
They will be water transfer decals, that is standard for the PLAMAX line and its sublines
Thanks for the clarification!
I love Robotech and I love Transformers. This satisfies both. I'd buy it and paint as Jetfire.

Thnx 4da newz guyz!! love tht monster of a kit!! ;)
So this is an actual model kit we build ourselves, or is it ready-made?
You have to build it
That looks insanely awesome!!! Very huge, is it going to be snap fit or glue together?
It's a snap fit kit but if you want to use cement or glue for that extra fit works too : ) . Would recommend using extra thin cement if you choose to go that route .
Thank you for the info ! :)
Is it made to fit in scale with own Max Factory Figmas?
Nacho Fernandez Gonzalez its 1/20 scale basically not the same scale with figma. on the other hand figma are 1/12 scale btw..
So when is Macross The Movie: Do You Remember Love? Going to be available for North American Blu-ray and DVD?
Until the licensing lawsuit is settled, probably not
You can import it on eBay. I have it plays just fine on NA players
Things I would buy if I were rich:
Ferrari: nope
Big house: nope
A boat: nope
A 1/20 scale Super Valkryie: YES
# high five hell yeah

It's from the movie "Macross : Do You Remember Love?" Animated back in 1985 or so, still stands up as one of the best animated films.
Jefuemon thanks. I hope to watch it eventually
do they ship orders to the philippines? how come there is no price conversion of japanese yen into dollar?
plenty of online hobby stores in japan will ship to your country, if not, use BUYEE.COM
@@AwesomeToysTV its an auction company i n japan. the disadvantage is that the price becomes more higher.
Not much choice as quite a lot of stores sold out very quickly when this thing was released as everyone is excited to build such a big scale VF-1!!

if we are not mistaken, good smile company is the distributor and most of the stock is already sold to retailers. Best bet is to wait for reissue.
