Don, you really outdid yourself this time. This video is prime time TV show quality. Packed with many beautiful wildlife shots and showcases the beauty of Arizona which brought me here in the first place. Your friend Scott is so great with snakes. Wish more people would do that rather than kill everything that moves. Keep up the great work. We need to get together again soon too! 🥰👍 ~Pam
This was just beautiful! Great job of showing the gorgeous Southeast Az. scenery! Most of us that have lived here almost a lifetime don't get to venture out to see these wonderful settings. I love our area after the rain. I hope we get MORE! Great presentation. Can't wait to see all you've done around your place!
That plant at 7:04 with lilac colored flowers is called Trompillo ( Solanum elaeagnifolium )and it produces a round, yellow fruit the size of a marble, filled with seeds and we use it to curdle the milk when we make cheese. The cleanest and most natural way to make cheese I know.
Awesome! Boggles the mind the diversity of a small area (Arizona, vs. USA, vs. world), and the wonderful sights to be seen in just a day-trip, almost anywhere you are. Thank you, I greatly appreciate your efforts recording, editing, and presenting this wonderful experience.

Hi Don, watching your video was the high point of our day today. Thank you so much for what you share. Your tour of South Eastern Arizona brought back tons of joyous memories for us because that was one of our favorite stomping grounds when we were younger. We had a thought that we didn't know if you were using or not, have you ever thought of using a Sun oven or solar oven. We use ours in the summer almost every day and we live in Coolidge near Phoenix. We just thought that might be a cool addition if you don't already have one. Maybe you could put it on your Amazon wish list 😃
Hi pmelick1. So delighted that you found such enjoyment with this vid! Yep the solar oven has been on the amazon list for a while. But its pricey so it might not come my way which is also fine. I get so many lovely gifts!
Your channel reminds me of the TheNorthwoodsman1. Very calming and real. I have enjoyed every video from your channel. Thank you for identifying the various bird species in this one.
Watching the videos in order Don I’ve finally come back to the very first one I saw and enjoyed watching it for a second time. I always notice pine trees because they are Majors favourite foods cool to see them in your part of the world. No Majors there of course but how nice to see Hummingbirds. The broad billed is so beautiful and glossy and you got such great footage. It must be such a thrill seeing the desert turn green and to go into the mountains and see waterfalls like that. Keep this stuff coming Don. 👌 🐦 💖
Bec so delighted you enjoyed this particular video. It's been fun to have subscribers admit they are birders too! You want to know something amazing? Those pine trees in the Chirichua Mts used to house parrots! Yep who would think the USA would have native parrots. Thick-billed Parrots from Mexico colonized this area years ago but sadly have been missing for a few decades as they have become scarce. I can see giant pine trees on the mountains in Mexico right from my backyard! I just need to put the scope on them. Glad you enjoyed the broad-billed hummer section. Love that little species. Hummers will be migrating through my yard in the next few weeks by the dozens! Can hardly wait!
What a nice surprise to have some birdos following along on your building adventures Don (maybe you will keep throwing the birds in). And so cool about the parrots!! That is amazing! So sad that they aren’t still there Don but a very cool history. And fun to dream they were still there! Good thing you have that scope Don! to be able to scan the mountains. They look so beautiful - what a view! ! I loved all of the birds in your video Don but yes of course the highlight was the broad-billed. Incredible that you will have all the fairies coming through again soon eeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk get your camera READY!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙏🏻
Beautiful nature footage and great info, Don! Another enjoyable video to watch and learn from. What a variety of wildlife to enjoy. There will always be projects, and mixing in some play with SO MUCH hard work is necessary to recharge to keep doing all those projects. Thank you for that reminder as well. Cheers! - Chrissy

Hi pmelick1. So delighted that you found such enjoyment with this vid! Yep the solar oven has been on the amazon list for a while. But its pricey so it might not come my way which is also fine. I get so many lovely gifts!
Enjoyed seeing this very much. Looking forward to next video.
Thanks so much Karen! Lots more vidoes coming!
Sweet adventure
Amazing! Really nice, Don. Thank you!
So glad you enjoyed it Wanda! It was strategic to retire in an area so bird rich... grin.
Awesome video dude, long time birder.
ZZtop090. Yes I figured it was about time to share some birding adventures since I know some of my subscribers are birders also.
Hi Don, I absolutely loved your video. Thanks so much for sharing.
So delighted you enjoyed it Teresa! Its a bit different from my off grid project vids so wasnt sure if folks would find it interesting.
What a great way to start my day! Tks.
What a lovely thing to say Juana Hernandez. I love that you come by and watch!
Nice video. Who knew there were so many birds in the desert? Looking forward to your next project.
Yes! One of the reasons I retired here Bob. Birding is nonstop fun here. Yep got to get back to work and get that water system hooked up!
Your channel reminds me of the
TheNorthwoodsman1. Very calming and real. I have enjoyed every video from your channel. Thank you for identifying the various bird species in this one.
Wow, thank you! So appreciate all of the encouraging comments Mitchell. Love having you here. Hope you subscribed. Lots more coming.
You will film them won’t you? Now I am just making sure.
Cheers! - Chrissy
Many thanks Chrissy! So delighted you enjoyed it! Yep definitely more energized after going away for a spell.
Don, great videos. I love seeing what people are able to do put there. I hope o can make it to my land north of Douglas someday. Still trying to save to get things going.

My father found and photographed Coppery-tailed Trogans in Pinery Canyon. You might try there, also. And, Don, don't miss a visit to George Walker house in Paradise, AZ. Jackie, the owner, is a wealth of information.
Great video!
AirofDoubt Pinery does have some cool stuff. Like Mexican Spotted Owls but South Fork is usually more productive for the trogons. Yep definitely saw George Walker House. Chatted with some folks staying there briefly. Thanks for watching!
