Thank you from California! I found Ice in my bucket cleaned it out moved ice cream out of the way so the unit is free from any items installed a new water filter and left the settings alone. We are headed out to church and will be back later today I will check if we have ice tomorrow 24 hours from now! Thank you again my modle is Samsung RS25H5111SR/AA. I bought in 2014 I have had no trouble with the ice maker at all. Or any other problems with this refrigerator I do need to be more dilligent in changing the water filters on time. You videos are very informative and helpful, I am a female at 57 years old and was able to understand and do it myself!! Thanks again! Have a Great Day!

Good tip about changing the temp on the freezer during warm weather, I'm definitely got to do that, we find our cold water warm in mid summer here in nj

My fridge has an internal water container on the fridge side that is used to make ice in the freezer side.
My issue is it doesn't make ice anymore even though the water container is full of water.
One more thing to check for new units. My brand new Whirlpool side by side would not make ice. Turns out, the electrical connector at the back of the ice maker was never plugged in when it was assembled at the factory.

A simple RO filter system takes care of 2 things.1) taste and sediment (the built in should last). 2) the 3+ gallon storage tank will allow water to cool to room (cabinet) temp.
I have a 2 year old GE built in side by side. The ice machine has always worked and then 2 days ago just stopped. I live in Florida so right away I lowered my freezer to -2, good tip! My water comes in around 80 degrees so that will help for sure.
I do use an aftermarket filter but I’ve gone through a few without issue. Can I just remove it and test without buying a new one? Or does it need a filter?
I would think you have to have a filter because the water goes through the filter (unless there’s a way to cap off the filter line. Our Samsung is 2 years old and I’ve been using an aftermarket filter (half the price) for over a year now with no issue until recently. Tonight I pressed the reset button hoping that will fix it
I used aftermarket filters a couple of time with no problems then I put in a new one and ice maker started turning out 'small incomplete' cubes. I checked 'everything' and EVEN replaced the unit with NEW and a new aftermarket filter with no change. Finally (even after buying a stand alone counter top ice maker) I put a factory filter in and after a day everything went back to normal operation . . . . Cost me several hundred bucks to learn a lesson about after market filters. p.s. mine won't run without a filter cuz as mentioned in the video the water path IS thru the filter. BUT in my case there is a 'filter eliminator' for trouble shooting ... it has all the connections of the filter but nothing in between allowing a free flow thru the filter housing.

Tip # 4 - how do you get those bits of ice out if they fell into the slots? Is that stripper assembly removable?
Yes it is removable but it is cheap plastic and you need to carefully bend it to get it to release from the tabs that lock it in. Google your model number and some appliance parts websites have videos on how to remove this. It is easier to remove than put back. Have patience.
Can you tell me why the ice maker is building ice on the right hand side of the tray to the point tha it can’t be removed ?
I had an issue with my KitchenAid French door refrigerator/freezer ice maker. I noticed no ice. I unplugged to investigate, decided to just order an aftermarket version instead of really troubleshooting. Plugged it back in and a couple hours latter, 2 trays of ice were in the box. "Great I fixed it!" Next morning no new ice. So I bought a new unit, hooked everything up, a few hours latter... ICE! "I fixed it!" Nope. I just came back home from work and it's the same as the other unit. Maybe 2 trays and nothing else. As with the old one, there's ice in the maker, but it's just not dumping. At this point, I'm frustrated and almost ready to call it and buy a new one. Please advise.

My GE icemaker is not delivering ice. It just jams up or something and won't come ount in front. We've had this unit since 2005 and it's always been reliable. During the hurrican Ian, we kept it running part of the time with no power (used a generator) and saved our food but perhaps it took a toll on the freezer icemaker. Any clue????
I have a 2006 GE with the same problem. It makes ice but when I try to get it to come out front out of the door the ice just stays in the bucket. The auger in the bucket will move by hand and the crush blades are not jammed up now that I took all the ice out, but there is some kind of contact between the auger and the front lever that isn't letting the ice auger to move the ice forward.
I think it is the auger motor that turns the auger that is inside the bucket. The motor is behind the bucket. Look up the RUclips video called: "GE refrigerator ice bucket auger motor replacement." It shows how to replace the motor and what the part number is. You can buy it on Ebay or google the OEM part (costs double) by giving the part number. I put this here for anyone here who has the problem of ice not coming out of the door even though ice is making and in the bucket.

no but if you don't connect the water supply you want to 'turn off' the ice maker else it will continuously cycle dry. Daughter recently replaced fridge with ice maker and moved old one into the garage for extra space ... did not hook up the water for the ice maker. Visiting I heard the ice maker cycle ...... lifted the bail to turn ice maker OFF.....
I don't use a lot of ice, and I've heard ice makers will shut down if not used/emptied. How do I re-trigger it? See no reset button.

Replace old tubbing and clean the line with vinegar; flush it with vinegar.
Why in the world would they install a laser (just one more electrical problem to go wrong) rather than a mechanical limit switch?
I did the button test and the right side of the tray causes it not to rotate fully. What do I do? We’ve had the fridge for a couple hours.
It sounds that LG intentionally makes the ice machine not work as soon as you, as soon as the fridge recognizes the filter you replace is not LG. Water is water. It makes no sense for the ice maker to stop working because it's not an LG filter. It just shows a product is no longer yours even after you paid for it.

My LD French Door Refrigerator Model LRFDS2503 does not have a reset button. Do you have an alternate method to reset the icemaker?
My LG refrigerator ice maker has a small hole on the left side. I was able to insert the end of a paperclip and depress for maybe 3 seconds and the ice maker cycled.
@@Jointerdude I read your comment and picked an small sharp pin from my phone and wen to the LG side by side opened the compartment tryin find the whole just find it out of nowhere and did the reset thing and a noise came out and the job is done. THANK YOU With much love.

I had a similar problem. In my case, there was too much ice build-up and excess water sprays onto the ice tray. I had to use a blow dryer to unclog huge clump of ice and that helped fix the issue.

I have a refrigerator LG LSXS26366 and the ice tray bin is stuck. I cant get it out. No ice in the bin. There is some frozen ice cubes on the upper right side of the bin. I want to take the bin out and remove the frozen ice I see and if there is any other frozen ice I can not see....BUT I cant get the ice bin tray out! Any help is greatly appreciated.
I had the same problem but I was able to fix it with a hair dryer , the problem is that it keep doing it.
@@JuanSanchez-pq7xn me too. Keeps doing it and I dont know why. Grest idea with the hair dryer. Well at least it safer than using a mallet and a steak knife as an ice pick and chipping it away. How long did it take with the hairdryer?

@@masfishing1 I told you before that it kept doing it and by watching another video I found out that a area where the water comes out was frozen and it was deviating the water to the right side where it was getting frozen and therefore making it difficult to remove the tray. I turned the ice maker off for a couple of days and it seems that it took care of it. It’s working ok and so far it hasn’t build any ice on that area. I’ll keep and eye on it for a while and see what happens. Good luck.
How come the ice maker won't work
My ice maker stopped working, I turn it off and back on again and it tries to dump but isn’t able to. There is no obstruction. It’s a Ken more elite in door maker
I have the same problem. The reset button is under the unit, on the left. That used to get it going again. Now it’s just not moving.
