I'm always a big fan of villains having specific objectives and then retreated once they're accomplished.
Many years ago in a high level D&D game, I guest ran a secondary encounter as the double sized player party split down two narrative directions. My scripted primary combatants were two high level Assassins and a lot of "red shirt" warriors. In the end, the Assassins killed who they could and then successfully escaped with their lives. When later confronted by the main Game Master about why I "robbed" his players of a source of loot, I pointed out that you have to be a smart assassin to reach the kind of power levels that everyone was out. Dumbfounded, he ended up agreeing. Sometimes the bad guy can achieve their secondary objective and then flee. Being a villain doesn't mean that you have to always go down in a suicidal blaze of glory.

Good stories (and games) often have asymmetrical objectives. The Dawners wanted the place, the hedonites wanted a bottle. Both won under their own terms. This side of the crusade has been more interesting so far.

I agree, and it's. a great depiction of that very concept!

You are such an inspiration to me. You've made me fall in love with AoS even though its still in its infancy of delevoping out its story, i want to write and create for this setting to make it even better than both Fantasy and 40K combined. Even though you aren't the most popular youtuber, i wish you nothing but success cause you deserve it a thousand fold.

That town and the civilian half of the crusade is screwed, the entire river that is providing them water is contaminated with Ushoran’s blood. Also there was a story on Warhammer Community that showed why the chaos guy wanted kings blood wine. Apparently unlike everyone else the Slaanesh guys can drink it and not get permanently driven mad…side note does anyone else think the ideas of a mad vampire, ghouls and blood getting you high in AOS was stolen from Vampire the Masquerade? Cause now that I think about it this kings blood thing is starting to sound like what happens if a Malkavian gave their blood to a normal human like Heather in VTM: Bloodlines.

it's not the slaanesh followers that can drink it and be unaffected, it's only Glutos because he's built different just like that and even then, he still gets affected by the delusion for a second

Not sure if I like the implications that chaos and death can't be really corrupted by the FEC curse.

Oh this is not good for the dawnbringers, they might be able to survive... but there chances are slim.
