PS3 3D Glasses Won't Charge or Turn On? The Fix

- If you can't get your Playstation 3 3D glasses to synch with your 3D TV or can't even get them to charge (the red light doesn't come on when charging) then there may be a very simple fix.
Mine doesn't turn on even doing that :(
I know this is an old video but I completely forgot about that ridiculous on/off switch when I dug these out from years in storage. I'm sure others also thought you could just long press the top button like just about everything else on planet earth! Thanks Chris, you saved a rare 3D night.
I tried this on a new pair and it didn't work work. This didn't work on the two that came with the TV either and those are used.
Update :bought another new pair and had the same issue no charge even with these instructions. These glasses were made very poorly.

So what if I have it plugged into the TV's USB port, the battery switch in the ON position and there's still no charging light?
Mine sadly still wont charge, I think they just hit there lifes end.. Actually had no idea that on off switch was there tho ! So that helps for when I replace the battery
Bought mine used. No instructions. Sure, I could have read online somewhere but, I'd rather hear the instructions then read them. And yes, I can read. lol

Wow what miss leading title my glasses don’t turn on or charge with the switch on just blinking light. You do nothing what’s so ever to fix the glasses! Your just charging them. What’s the next video how to Chang a light bulb

Its weird but mine were switched to the off position since they were new. Switched to on and tried charging but nada. Ive never heard of lithium batts going poo like that. In all 4 pairs i have. All are in mint condition and were never used, stored properly in off position yet the cells still died apparently. I thought only nimh batts did that.

Lithium ion batteries fail over time, as well. Particularly if they are left at 0% or 100% for extended periods. Last I checked my Sony 3D glasses, one of the 3 pairs wouldn't take or hold a charge but the other two were still working OK. Before you give up entirely, make sure you try a few different cables and wall adapters. Sometimes they'll perk up if you hit them with a higher amp charge. Does the light come on at all or no?
Same case with me, I hadn't used them for a long while and now they won't even show the red light anymore, tried already with different cables and such and no results so far
@@ChrisBoylanone of the 4 mint condition ones I have is able to blink a light for light a second maybe that could work this idea??

I have bought 3 pairs of these glasses now. I just got in a brand new pair and yet again, still won’t charge. The red light won’t even come on!
Yeah I’ve gone through the same thing I don’t understand man 🤦♂️ and doesn’t seem to be an answer out here either
@@DomthaDon727 ok dude I know what it is. I finally have a pair that works! If the red light doesn’t come on when you plug it in. It more than likely means your battery is shot and you need a new battery! A retro tech repair place should be able to fix it!
@@DynamiteNunchucks that’s really it? That’d be amazing news, I was gonna look around for the other Sony branded 3d glasses they made around the same time and see if I have better luck with those. But still crazy to me how I’ve had 4 brand new PlayStation 3d glasses and all batteries are shot on them somehow. I do have one that blinks for like a second then back to nothing.
These batteries do wear out after a while, particularly if they are left with no charge for an extended period. Just like a cell phone battery, eventually they need to be replaced. Unfortunately, this battery isn't super easy to access. Requires a few screws removed and careful prying of the frame parts, then removing and replacing the battery with a soldering iron. You can get a replacement battery online for around $15 if you want to try it. Or ask at a cell phone or video game repair shop to see if they will do the repair for you.

Edit: The light was on for a bit, but then went blank and now won't come back up. Maybe the battery is dead? Not sure where to find it on those glasses though.
If you still have them... the replacement battery is coded WEP200. Hope it helps.

Hi Chris don't know if you can help me, mine work but only on the left glass, when the active 3D kicks in, a black type of surface covers the glasses, and that's when the 3D is on, but mine only activate on the left side wereas the right side stays "blank".
+Esteban Menchaca - the glasses getting darker means that the active shutter is activating, but if you are displaying valid 3D content on a compatible display and one of the lenses is staying fully dark, you may have a defective pair of glasses or a defective display. Can you try a second pair and see if the behavior is the same? Also, what display are you using them with?
Chris Boylan I bought the Playstation 3D display that comes with two pair of glasses, the tv it self and the motorstorm game. I popped in the motorstorm game and put it on 3D mode at the beggining and activated one of the pair and they worked fine, it's beautifull, then tried with the other one and didn't work. I even tried turning of the first pair and turnining off and on again the second pair but still didn't work.
Well I would make sure the glasses are fully charged, but if they are, then it sounds like they are defective.
+Esteban Menchaca I have actually the same fucking problem, it's like they're giving you the second pair for free because it doesn't work. I'm going to surf the Web until I find how to fix them, if I do it I will send you a message. I'd be great if you can do the same dude.

I got the red light for 10 seconds and then the glasses died. 😒
Mine didn't even get the red light, I guess the battery is dead somehow, which is weird since one of the pairs I had never even used.
