"Marianne" was the Italian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest '68, performed in Italian by the singer/composer Sergio Endrigo (lyrics by Giancarlo Bigazzi). Following the Contest, it was rewritten in English by Bill Owen for Cliff Richard to record it.
