I can't get my text to warp and it's driving crazy! Can you help?
@@lynnh.419 Hi. it really should be as easy as creating some text, selecting the text layer you created and choosing "Warp Group" in the layers menu on the top menu bar then choosing a warp type. You can also select the Warp option at the bottom of your layers panel next to the FX. It's difficult to help when i cant see your project and the issues you're having.
@@MJWMediaStudios I've done all of that but when I drag the top line of the text box the box warps but not the text.
That's really strange. If there is a way you can make a screen recording and send it me on my Facebook page or insta in a message, I will have a better idea of what's going on with your project and try and help you solve it. Social links are in my description 🙂

You're welcome. I do recommend moving to V2 while affinity still have the 40% launch discount on offer. Some of the changes and new tools are really useful, and hopefully they'll introduce some more requested tools in future updates.

Thanks for covering V2! I was going to wait before upgrading, given that Serif have a habit of breaking stuff with new releases (anyone who remembers the Plus range knows what I mean) and also the new features added are all things they've been promising to add to v1 for years - and there's still lots missing. But, well, 90 quid ain't too much to ask. Let's hope they fix some of the glitches pronto and add the missing tools we want before version 3.
V2 Definitely isn't without its flaws and I imagine I'll come across a few more issue while making tutorials. I agree that the new features should have been introduced long before now and for some people it's not worth the upgrade. Hopefully we'll get alot more in future updates with missing tools. I can't argue with £90 for the universal licence as it's the first time I've paid for an update in many years, and hopefully will be for many more.
That "text glitch" exists in V1 as well, and has never been resolved. Not sure if it only effects Mac users.

Could you specify exactly what file types are used? What is the group logo? I need this info. This is not very useful as is.
The content used in the video are just vector shapes and text that was created in Affinity Designer and placed into a folder to group them together.
If you want to warp pixel images (jpeg etc), you have to switch to the pixel persona workspace in Affinity Designer and choose the warp option. Pixel warp wasn't available during the recording of this video, but has now been added in a recent update.

Yeah I'm still alive lol. Just been so busy with general life that it's been impossible to create new content. Plus I've been waiting for the affinity V2 applications to see what was new as I didn't want to keep creating for V1 when everyone will probably upgrade. @@MJWMediaStudios I just got the v2, seems good but i was exêcting the auto vectorizer for designer...anyway, maybe on futur update or whatever, still cheaper than adobe crap. I can't stand adobe, subscription but also the interface and how non intuitive adobe is overall.
I completely agree. I still occasionally use photoshop for mockups, but the amount of menus and sub menus you have to go through to proform a simple task isn't intuitive at all with all of the Adobe products. I love affinity and think the new update launch price is definitely worth it considering that it's the first update we've had to pay for in around 8 years. Affinity Designer is definitely still missing some features, but hopefully will come in time.
