oh wow that is easy. I always wondered how to do the sloped driveway. I'm loving all these tutorials with constrain floor elevation. I had no idea how it worked but after seeing these videos i have a better understanding of it
Sooo… I’m 7 years late but I have question 🙋♀️ can you add stairs from the basement garage to the normal house? Would love to have a door from the garage to utility rooms like laundry ect and then be able to go upstairs to base level. Thank you 🙏
Great vid, James! That really helped - I had no idea it would be so easy! :) Question (this is not about the sloped driveway): I notice lots of great builders do a "sunken terrain" for a basement in their houses, instead of using the basement tool. Why do good builders do that? Is it for looks, or does the game play better, or is visibility better? Lots of builders don't like the basement tool. Do you know why?
Could you please finish of the Island building thing that you started, please? I love that let's play because it shows how creative you can be, but I still love every other video because you're great.
Hey, come close, I have a secret don't tell anyone, this hasn't been shared yet; _check back on my channel on the 19th of February, that'll be 5 years to the day since I started RUclips. Shhhh_ ;)
You mentioned something about going deeper then basically trailed off to finish the first part of the tutorial. What was it you were going to mention by going down even further? Is it simply to have the foundation be lower.. like an alt foundation?
Something I think you should do in a house building video is put multiple houses in there like one for the parents kids and maybe grandparents just something like that
How did you create that raised garden bed? I'm currently working on a house in TS3 with (hopefully) a little raised garden by the garage. Someone please respond, I'm so confused!
Type cheats 'testingcheatsenabled true' and then 'moveobjects on' and then hold Alt while you move intems. That way they can overlap freely and you can place them wherever you want
Correct me if I'm wrong, but did you put green carpet on the foundation along the driveway to make it look like grass/soil and then top it with plants?
TheSimSupply I used one that I saw in an other youtube video. You literally lower every square on it's own until you reach the garage door. It included a lot of clicking as you can imagine. oh man. xD Looking back I really could've made my life a lot easier ^^
i feel kinda stupid asking this but.....how would you do a attached grage. to foundion with the sloped driveway? (im dislexic so i cant always spell thing right sorry)
TheSimSupply ''ConstrainFloorElevation False, ConstrainFloorElevation False, ConstrainFloorElevation False, 3 stairs, 3 stairs, 3 stairs'' I will remember. Building is fun, great videos ! Thanks !
Hey i used ur trick worked great BUT i reloded my game the next day and my garage was flooded and my driveway was too i was just wondering if u might, kno why this happened and if u kno how to fix it lol and i dont have water anywhere just so u kno thanks ur videos are awesome
My mouse refuses to do one click when lowering the ground so my slope is to steep and not working like yours sadly cant do this super easy simply cool technique....):
I tried creating my own sloped driveway in my game and for the most part it worked but when I tried to get rid of the ugly angle it created it altered the actual slope any suggestions on how to make it not do that would be much appreciated :)
I’m having a problem with the TS3 I just placed a 64x64 lot down when placed my house on it the the terrain was too low and didn’t level up to the side walk, and my sims won’t go home cause they can’t get in a house with a uneven lot. Anyone know how to fix this?
Actually the problem might be... most tutorials fail to mention this part. Nothing will work in the cheat menu unless you put in "testingcheatsenabled true" first.
marzymeowz No, that is not true at all. You do NOT need to enter "testingcheatsenabled true" to be able to use "constrainfloorelevation false". The times you will need to use TCE is if you want to use the "buydebug" cheat or a vast array of other ones. You do not need it for CFE.
Be creative, colour schemes, colour schemes, COLOUR SCHEMES! And try downloading some custom content walls, floors, and objects, then just put something together without any planning ahead, I mean that's what James does, and look at his houses, they're absolutely stunning! (Ps, I suggest modthesims, the sims resource, and of course, James's website, for sims content)
I had the same problem because I was starting from the walls. Start from the top edge of the ground, then drag it to the walls, if that makes any since.....
i had water randomly show up in my basement. what did I do wrong? I put a pond in the yard but it shouldn't have affected the house. honestly looks like a foundation of water.
+Amber Groeger i think you might have had your basement placed too close to your pond, or you might have made your pond also too deep or both things, be careful how deep you dig your pond especially, goodluck
It worked pretty much the same way, then you'd just moveobjects to place the driveway pieces and the cars. The animation of the car reversing out didn't play of course, but you could still place your cars in a sunken garage :)
This is the only tutorial for CFE that actually worked. Thanks James!!
It's great to see different ways of doing this. I usually bring the last row down to the same level as the garage and then start to level the driveway
oh wow that is easy. I always wondered how to do the sloped driveway. I'm loving all these tutorials with constrain floor elevation. I had no idea how it worked but after seeing these videos i have a better understanding of it
wow, i never knew that the constrainfloorelevation code could ever come in this handy for this many things, wow, its phenomenal
I was already missing this tutorials :D, lovely thing going on there, i like what you did with the foundation and the plants above.
This was the first thing I did with that cheat, but in the Sims 2... it used to take me so long, and now I find it so easy xD
Thanks. I've been struggling with sloped driveways for some time now and I could kind f do them but they never looked as perfect as yours do.
Thanks for the tip... I am a beginner at Sims and have been trying to make a sloped driveway since I was making houses!! :)
I am loving these tutorials. Thank you for taking the time to do them. :)
Sooo… I’m 7 years late but I have question 🙋♀️ can you add stairs from the basement garage to the normal house? Would love to have a door from the garage to utility rooms like laundry ect and then be able to go upstairs to base level. Thank you 🙏
@phanterleo Yes, you can! It works just like it does with regular levels of a house ☺️
Great vid, James! That really helped - I had no idea it would be so easy! :) Question (this is not about the sloped driveway): I notice lots of great builders do a "sunken terrain" for a basement in their houses, instead of using the basement tool. I can't thank you enough for this james! I was having such a hard time figuring this out by myself :D
Any chance you can put that demo house for upload and do a tutorial for the roof you did in Totally Tubular?
Super easy when you have a close look! It looks great :) Thanks James for this great tutorial now I can spice up my sims houses in no time! :)
Can you upload that demo house to the exchange? It's actually really nice
Thank you so much, you are awesome and i freakin love your accent lol i can listen to you all day XD
You're Brandon's gf
Great way to get a flooded basement when it rains. :D
every time i try to put the foundation in it lowers the wall. how did you add it in without the wall being lowered to the height of the foundation? :/
I have this issue as well. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong...
Could you please finish of the Island building thing that you started, please?
I love that let's play because it shows how creative you can be, but I still love every other video because you're great.

+The Sim Supply ooo
I have a lovely idea for a back yard now! Thank you so very much!
Thanks for that!! Its really helpful. You're my savior! :D Hopefull you would continue these tutorials even for SIMS4.
thank you so much James for your tutorials! It really helps me build houses more smoothly. And your right, it is pretty damn easy!
So glad I found this video! My houses can look more better now lol thanks!
You mentioned something about going deeper then basically trailed off to finish the first part of the tutorial. What was it you were going to mention by going down even further? Is it simply to have the foundation be lower.. like an alt foundation?
thanks for doing this video it really helps!!! But what do you use to film it?
thank god I found this your awesome James
Thank you! This helped me to make really cool houses for my sims x x
Thank you! Informative and concise.
Can you do a window tutorial - like how to place windows nicely and good combos?
Makes so much since I have had trouble doing it this will help
Something I think you should do in a house building video is put multiple houses in there like one for the parents kids and maybe grandparents just something like that
How did you create that raised garden bed? I'm currently working on a house in TS3 with (hopefully) a little raised garden by the garage. Someone please respond, I'm so confused!
Thank you so much these help me soooo much 😂
Thanks James! This was pretty helpful. :3
Thanks again James you are the best!
i love this man so much hes a master at sims 💓💓💓thx u so much
At 4:19 you talk about the rocks. Does anyone know how you put items at eich other? (sorry for my bad englisch) í hope you understand what i mean.
Type cheats 'testingcheatsenabled true' and then 'moveobjects on' and then hold Alt while you move intems. That way they can overlap freely and you can place them wherever you want
Very good man. That's help me a lot.
Amazing lesson! Thank you😘
The cheat code was all I needed, and I didn't notice until I did the entire process twice lol
Correct me if I'm wrong, but did you put green carpet on the foundation along the driveway to make it look like grass/soil and then top it with plants?
It's from into the future u could put plants on it without moveobjects on
What was you going to say from 1:48 to 1:52 ?
Thanks sooo much!
oh my god, James, thank you! I've always used a different method which was SO much more complicated. U_U Yours seems to be al lot faster. :)
Haha how did you do it?
TheSimSupply I used one that I saw in an other youtube video. You literally lower every square on it's own until you reach the garage door. It included a lot of clicking as you can imagine. oh man. xD Looking back I really could've made my life a lot easier ^^
Is this possible on ps3? And If you made the garage to wide you can mane put a normal door next to the garage door, I think that would look nice.
Thank you so much for this! :D
Yay :D ur tips and tricks are amazing
Is it possible to make curved driveway with terrainpaint?
Thanks for showing us :)
i feel kinda stupid asking this but.....how would you do a attached grage. to foundion with the sloped driveway? (im dislexic so i cant always spell thing right sorry)
Hmm. That was so easy it made me feel stupid.
Just because you haven't learnt something yet doesn't make you stupid :)
TheSimSupply ''ConstrainFloorElevation False, ConstrainFloorElevation False, ConstrainFloorElevation False, 3 stairs, 3 stairs, 3 stairs'' I will remember.
Building is fun, great videos ! Thanks !
Hey i used ur trick worked great BUT i reloded my game the next day and my garage was flooded and my driveway was too i was just wondering if u might, kno why this happened and if u kno how to fix it lol and i dont have water anywhere just so u kno thanks ur videos are awesome
ohmygod i love your stuff
This helps so much!
Can you do a tutorial on how to do the roof on Totally Tubular?
that's awesome now I can finally make a basement lol and a sloped driveway of course
Thank you my Aussie friend (I'm Kiwi) :D
My mouse refuses to do one click when lowering the ground so my slope is to steep and not working like yours sadly cant do this super easy simply cool technique....):
So cool thanks!
Can I DL that particular house you have there? it's a cute house...
Thank you :D!
I tried creating my own sloped driveway in my game and for the most part it worked but when I tried to get rid of the ugly angle it created it altered the actual slope any suggestions on how to make it not do that would be much appreciated :)
How did you make your left side with the tree?
I figured it out lol.
That actually is pretty damn easy! Thank you :D
Could you do a video of how to upload a lot to the exchange with your own pictures please?
1. Aluna Island - How to Share Your Lots
2. How to Change Images in Sims3Pack Files
The Sim Supply Thanks! I didn't see those
I’m having a problem with the TS3 I just placed a 64x64 lot down when placed my house on it the the terrain was too low and didn’t level up to the side walk, and my sims won’t go home cause they can’t get in a house with a uneven lot. Anyone know how to fix this?
How do you know all the cheats, tricks and techniques?
what do we do on the xbox? this is pretty much impossible on the xbox
How would you do this with an upward slope?
Just do the same thing but use the raise terrain tool instead of the lower terrain tool
You never went back to show us what you were going to do if you made it lower!
(@1:40)
I can't place a garage door🤔
Can you do this in sims 2 ?
Sure
I don't know what it is with my game but i can never use ConstrainFloorElevation False. I've went to multiple forums and nothing i do fixes it
Try typing it in twice, not in the cheat box but type it once, then open the cheat box again and type it in, hope that helps!
I'll try that next time i build a house. Thanks :)
Can u bring back create a world
How do you get rid of the harsh edges without altering the driveway slope?
Once you turn off constrainfloorelevation they should stay put. Even if you messed it up, you can just undo.
Can you please do a really simple tutorial on how to make a house that doesn't look awful? I always struggle with basic building :/
My foundation keeps lowering my walls to the same hight as the foundation when I try to place them does anybody know why?
I had the same problem because I was starting from the walls. Start from the top edge of the ground, then drag it to the walls, if that makes any since.....
i had water randomly show up in my basement. what did I do wrong? I put a pond in the yard but it shouldn't have affected the house. honestly looks like a foundation of water.

I love you james, be mein valentines ;-;
100th comment 🤗
do a house without any cheats at all
didn't it used to be harder on the sims 2 because of the placed driveways? or is that just my imagination?
It worked pretty much the same way, then you'd just moveobjects to place the driveway pieces and the cars. The animation of the car reversing out didn't play of course, but you could still place your cars in a sunken garage :)
+The Sim Supply how did you figure out alot of this stuff, Amen James
thank you very much
i feel stupid. but thanks alot
nah my garage went all wonky and bleh,
That was pretty damn easy, I thought it was going to be harder then that.
doesn't work my slopes are to steep
Now if only you could place a car on a sloped driveway and have it look nice... :/
I think u could with moveobjects on
Is this the same way people make walk-out basements?
Yes.
Cool, but I am not about to use cheats.
thats so easy
im such a dumb fuck
This doesn't work
