I met Willie out at his Luck, TX ranch the day he was flying out to Ray's funeral. He was so kind and generous even though he was brokenhearted. I'll never forget the sparkle in his eye. Willie is a lovely man.
When you have two accomplished musicians who can play anything they want & you align the stars. Both are favorites in every era of making their music. RIP Mr. Ray Charles. You brought your soul into everything that you ever did and it was always top shelf and the same goes for Mr. Nelson!!
I took a few years of guitar lessons with the left handed guitarist here, Jackie King. He taught me a bunch of Metallica guitar solos and was always super supportive. Good times.
Musical History. They surpassed racism and hatred. They loved the musical gifts that each other had and just pushed each other musically and enjoyed what they created each time they played together.

I love Willie but Ray has more talent in his pinky than Willie. A huge disparity in talent on that stage. Willie is an outlaw country iconic image. Ray is a total package.
