What I like about this is how Ray takes a good ballad, and souls it up and almost makes it a hymm out of it. What a loss to the music world. R.I.P. Mr Charles
Beautiful... I've discovered Willie Nelson not so long time ago, but I feel clearly how great musition he is. And here with another great legend, Ray Charles... It's just amazing. :)
Everytime I watch this vid I just love and enjoy Ray's bubbly personality. You can hear and see that in all of his song's Ray, sang with so much heart and soul. Two of music's greatest talents playing side by side, WOW! One day we'll see our angel again in heaven....R.I.P. Ray! For you Willie.....we love ya lots too! Love this song!
woa i nearly just passed out when i heard this always been one of my favourite songs, reminds me of my map r.i.p but wow ray charles what a voice for country !! never heard a better version top marks!!!
One of my all time favorite songs. I saw Ray in 1984 in Denver with my Dad & wife. Whenever I get with my Dad I play this video. He's 69 with Parkinson and we love talking about this song and the concert. Thanks Ray & Willie!
Ray Charles sits at the top of the pop vocal chart, side by side with Elvis. When THESE TWO vocalists sang a song, it was autographed and made their own. There was something EXTRA special, and no other vocalist could do that song better. Instant gold. Today's talent cant sign aa song anywhere NEAR the signature voices of Ray Charles and Elvis Presley.
How many people get to sit and play at the same piano as Ray Charles... or sit and play and sing with with willie... damn. I feel privileged and blessed to just get to listen... truly god has a BAND of angels.... hope I get to hear them all sing together....
anyone who does not understand or believe in the greatness of these 2 legendary singers, need only watch this video and realize that willie and ray's pure musical genius is clear as day and totally undeniable even by the harshest critic.........
This is my favourite song. I listen to metal and punk rock and loads of other music but nothing will be better than this. It was the first song daddy (I'm twelve and yes, I still call him daddy) taught me how to sing. I want it played at my funeral, and I want it played at my wedding. It's that special, that beautiful. :)
I was lucky enough to see Ray live at a small venue in 83, they blew the roof off the place and while he didn't have any current hit songs at that time he played not only his hits but new stuff as well. I don't mind saying I cried like I knew him when he went clear and to this day even with the huge success of the movie RAY, it will be many, many moons before people in general recognize him with the names we now hold as masters such as Beethoven, J.S. Bach, Vivaldi and others.
what can i say, Amazing song, amazing artists... The talent from both are just unbelievable, always was a willie fan, and always will be a ray charles fan for sure...
Beautiful song! You can see the scenes play out in your head as they sing. I love songs like this that tell a story. The song reminds me of an old western movie.
after i left my last comment i got messages from othe young fan of willi just wanted to say it good to see and here that am not the only one from my generation who can apreciate a great man with an amazzing voice 2 two geat men
Sometimes it's easy to forget what a great vocalist Willie is. Just another tool in his arsenal. The day Willie does really die will be a sad, sad, day. He's an American treasure.
i saw willie last year at the apollo in manchester.what a totally fantastic performer. The coolest most enigmatic person you will ever hear.If you ever get the chance to seem this man then just buy tickets you will not be dissapointed
i got goosebumps......and this song stirs feeling so deep that i cannot even begin to describe it......true singers....no matter what the lyrics ray charles can make u cry
this song reminds me of my childhood when i was still in s.a. texas, they always play this on the radio while my grandpa tells me and my cousins stories about the wild west... thanks whoever posted this beautiful song...
And when country music was down for the count in the early 60's it was Ray Charles that saved it and revived it. It is quite obvious that Ray loved singing country songs. Yes, our great-grandchildren and their great-grandchildren will be listening to this one.
Im Thirty now. I remember riding with my father hauling water in the oil fields in New Mexico as a child. One of my first memories is listening too this song. It still chokes me up.
When my father was asked to hear a song on my new computer system sound system this is the one he chose. RIP father I miss you since you passed on 6 months ago. Brian
Thank you wldcat57. I've seen both Willie and Ray and they are both incredible. Even my four year old daughter recognized the soulfulness of Mr. Charles' voice and asked who it was? All you racist people bring our species down and it makes me so very sad for my daughter that there is so much hate in the world. How could such a beautiful song could bring this on? We all bleed red. I don't wish any of you racists ill-will, but the Universe WILL bring you 'round one way or the other.

Simply amazing, two of the most beautiful voices ever and this was recorded live. You can't find anyone today that sounds this good in a rehearsal.
