      Thanks for your suggestion! Using a roll of black PVC pipe is indeed a simple and effective way to heat water, as it can absorb and retain heat efficiently when placed on a roof. Very good. That second method you used with the terracotta pot, was something similar to what I made. I used an old Calor Gas bottle. They don't give you your deposit back, so I kept it and made use of it. I connected the copper pipe to a radiator. Based on the assumption that hot water rises, I was able to heat a room after I'd modified the radiator. I was going to plumb it into the central heating, but she, who must be obeyed, wouldn't let me.

    • @HolicCreation
      @HolicCreation  2 месяца назад

      Thank you very much! Your method is very creative and useful in many cases. Do you think we should add a tank reinforced with thick heat-insulating layers? Then we will have hot water for the whole day in just a few firings.

    • @Jack_Warner
      @Jack_Warner 2 месяца назад

      @@HolicCreation Just one other point I forgot. You would need to lag (insulate) the pipe leading to the radiator, as it would lose a lot of heat if it was travelling to an upstairs bedroom. I've made a couple of wood burners from Calor Gas bottles, and I thought of the radiator accessory when watching another video years ago.

    I really appreciate both the cleverness of this design and the demonstrated craft skill. But, really, it looks like a Boy Scout merit badge project. How long do you imagine those plastic jugs are going to last at those temperatures in a high UV solar flux environment? In just a few years all of that work is going to have to be redone. I didn't pay enough attention to see how they were going to interconnect the fire jug with the solar part. No doubt both will provide hot water for a time but does anyone expect to have to build a fire to take a shower in the morning?

    • @HolicCreation
      @HolicCreation  2 месяца назад

      You bring up some excellent points! 🌞🔥 Plastic jugs probably aren’t built to survive that high UV exposure and heat for long-those things will likely start cracking before you know it. And yeah, the idea of building a fire every morning for a hot shower feels a little... rustic, to say the least! 😅 Definitely seems like a short-term solution at best. Have you come across more durable alternatives that could work better in a solar setup like this?

    日本人は浴槽に200~300リットルのお湯を溜めて風呂に入るので、お湯を確保するには圧倒的にお湯の量が足りないし、規模が小さすぎで、大規模にするなら管理が大変で面倒くさそう。
    結局は、初期費用は多少かかりますが、日本の昭和時代に流行った(今でも見かけるが)屋根にソーラータンクを載せて水を巡回させて天日でお湯を大量に沸かす機器は現存するわけで、ただ、今では太陽光電池パネル主流により新たには見かけなくなりましたが・・・
    最後、薪を燃やしてお湯を沸かすのは、いわゆる瞬間湯沸かし器のように使えるとは思いますが、火起こしにバーナーを使われていたのには本末転倒でw

    This is a novelty, but don't rely on it for hot water to cook with or to drink. Mold will form in the containers over time, from leaves and other airborn debris, and will travel through the lines.
    There was good reason historically why gas and electric water heaters were invented to work with municipal water systems.

    • @HolicCreation
      @HolicCreation  2 месяца назад

      Thank you for your comment! You're right, maintaining cleanliness in solar water systems is crucial, and mold or debris can indeed be an issue over time. Regular cleaning and filtration can help mitigate that. While gas and electric water heaters are reliable, solar options offer an eco-friendly alternative. I'm always looking for ways to improve the design-do you have any suggestions on how to enhance this system for safer use?

    • @rayrussell6258
      @rayrussell6258 2 месяца назад

      @@HolicCreation Sorry, but no suggestions required, because gas and electric water heaters require none of that and are already safer. There is no compelling reason to switch to something that requires MORE work. The Earth has functioned quite well for eons of years, and will go on functioning quite well without switching to far less efficient solar. My comment was essentially warning people to not switch, because of the strong potential for new health issues.

    Hot water from the sun in the winter isn’t possible in the uk. And wood burning heat exchangers are possible but are also illegal so hardly the solution for the uk. What you really need is a ten to 20kw solar 12v battery system for the hot water to heated and stored and insulated all the time so that you can use the water whenever. 🙏🏽

    • @HolicCreation
      @HolicCreation  2 месяца назад

      Thanks for the input! You're right, heating water with solar energy during the winter in the UK can be challenging. It's unfortunate that some renewable energy setups face restrictions in certain areas. It can be frustrating when local regulations make it harder to implement sustainable solutions. However, smaller DIY systems like this can sometimes offer a more flexible approach without attracting too much attention. Have you considered other alternatives that might be more permissible in your region? There might be creative ways to work within the rules.

      dappeken3115 ! Dass Solarmodule zur Warmwasserbereitung veraltet sind, stimmt nicht.
      Die Rohstoffverknappung ist Schuld daran, dass jetzt keine alten Kühler aus alten Autos und Lkw's zur Verfügung stehen. Früher hängte man 2-3 Kühler an einem Dreibein im Garten oder auf dem Dach auf und schloss im Haus ein 1000-Liter-Reservoir mittels Schläuchen an. Das Video zeigt das Grundprinzip, die Solarzelle machte den Strom für die Scheibenwischerwasserpumpe aus der Schrottkarre und transportierte das Wasser in einem ständigen Kreislauf zwischen Reservoir im Haus und den ollen Kühlern auf dem Dach. Bei fehlender Sonne und deshalb fehlender Erwärmung der Kühler war auch kein Strom für die Pumpe und der Kreislauf wurde unterbrochen, um das Warmwasser nicht aufs Dach zu pumpen, wo es auskühlen würde.
      Wer keine alten Kupferkühler hat, kann auch schwarze Wasserrohre benutzen. Wer keine Solarzelle kaufen will, kann seine alten vergilbten Solargartenleuchten umfunktioniern, wobei er die Ni/Kad- Akkus in den brennenden Ofen entsorgen kann, dessen Asche im Winter auf dem Bürgersteig hervorragende Dienste leistet.

      Thanks for your input! You're right-solar systems have limitations when the sun isn't out or in freezing conditions. That's why it's always good to have backup options in place. Have you tried any other alternative heating methods that work better in cold weather?

      Thank you so much ! Do you think we should replace it with a larger tube?
