    I've been stuck on trying to go from like a modified cartwheel to straight back. Doing the move from standing to generate momentum was the key for me to get all the way over back. Thank you so much

      Wow great, thank you for letting me know. This was also one of the main keys when I was learning to get straight over. Happy to hear it worked for you as well. Thank you! 😊

    I think this is the one of the step or last step to do back flip right? I wanna do backflip but I am stuck on this part. 😊

    • @thomas.inauen
      @thomas.inauen  Год назад +2

      Yes it’s one of the steps to backflip because it’s one of the most basic backwards flipping motions. After Macaco I normally teach Jumping Macaco (further variation of Macaco), Backhandspring before Backflip. :-)

    I learned to do this trick on one hand. Basically, I use the swing arm as a support while the other does nothing. But nobody does this this way. Did I learn it wrong?

    • @thomas.inauen
      @thomas.inauen  Год назад +1

      Wow okay, so that means you don`t support yourself with the other arm and you kinda swing and jump on your swinging arm? I think there`s nothing wrong as long as it works. So congratulations for achieving it this way. 👍

    maaan I've been trying this one for months but I can't seem to generate enough "pop"/ power with my hips popping up in order to go straight over my head. I can do backflip so technically this should be easy but somehow isn't . thx for the warmup tips though

    • @thomas.inauen
      @thomas.inauen  Год назад +1

      Hi Noa, thanks for your message. The Macaco was also difficult for me for a long time, although I already knew Backflip. The pop power of you should easily be enough. Try to focus on the arm movement. Do you pull the arm (pull arm) straight over your head and do you go into a hollow back like in a backhandspring? I think focusing on that could help you. I idea is that your upperbody kinda "pulls" your lower body over and together with the pop you come over head. 🙂

      You knew how to backflip before learning the macaco ? So is it worth first learning how to macaco then backflipping or just start with backflips ?

    Why it goes side while i do it

    • @thomas.inauen
      @thomas.inauen  Год назад +5

      Usually it is either the swing arm or the head (or both) that are moving too much to the side. Try to focus on moving the arm and head straight back over you and increase it step by step. 🙂

    I’m having trouble with this trick. I keep pulling a muscle in my right inner thigh when I kick over.

    • @thomas.inauen
      @thomas.inauen  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@cedr3505 I understand, then you need to change your method. Your leg is probably having to work too hard and compensate for other parts of your body. Maybe try to apply more pressure with the other leg, use your hips more, use your arms more. You can also strengthen the muscles on the inside of your thigh to make them more resistant.
