Do you all find the hunt for overhead bin space to be stressful as well? How do you ensure that you get a space for your carry-on bag? 😎
You taking a page out of Sebby’s book with that black shirt?!?
😂😋 looks good buddy
Hahaha! Unfortunately, it's navy blue. Need to pick up a black v-neck instead. 😄
Nice video. I prefer to spend the maximum time in the lounges instead of priority boarding. Rather board last than standing in queues like school kids.
I agree. Lounge time definitely beats waiting to board!
Trip Astute you are wearing a black shirt like Sebastian from ask Sebby 😂
Ha. It's navy blue. Need to pick up a black v-neck instead so I can match Sebby. 😄
We are lucky because our daughter is only two so we priority boarding!! But good info!! Thanks
Very cool! I guess it's one of the perks of traveling with young kids ... though I'm sure it must be so challenging! 😄
I waited an hour and a half one time to get my bag back that I checked onto an American Airlines flight after landing. After that annoying experience I got the Citi Aadvantage credit card so that I could at least check a bag for free. As a really tall dude, I need more space to pack. Airlines in general are annoying enough to charge hefty fees for extra legroom for the privileged of being comfortable.
Yeah, I feel like the seats keep getting smaller too. I remember hearing about RyanAir's plan for standing seats. I honestly hope the industry doesn't go that far! 😬
New sub to the channel!!! Please please can you upload the exact trip Astute iPhone wallpaper you use for remembering which card to use for which rotating category... I think its a great idea and could help many of us who have multiple cards with rotating categories and it's free advertising for you too!! :))
It's on our website 🤓: www.tripastute.com/credit-card-tools/
Preboard eligible. Not usually for bin space but just the time and not being rushed.
👍
Wow, i've never ever had an issue with overhead bin space so I always thought Priority boarding was simply to get on & off first. I guess I'll have to start taking this into consideration when getting my ticket.
It's possible that I might be more sensitive to it ... or just unlucky with always being on full flights. That's awesome that you've never had an issue with overhead bin space! 👍
I have never had an issue with overhead bin space either, and I always fly economy because it's easier on my wallet.
Thanks a lot for the video. I have the United Explorer card as well as the Southwest Priority card and I got approved for Global Entry this year so I've got those bases covered. I need to look into something for American Airlines and that will cover the airlines that fly out of my closest airport.
Thanks for the checking out the video. Looks like I forgot to include the Barclaycard AA cards, which also provide priority boarding. You'll want to check them out as well.
Even when you get Main Cabin 1 on Delta, sometimes you have to be at the front of the group just to be safe. It's crazy how many people board in Main1. Looking forward to finally getting Gold status with them later this year and getting ahead of the Main1 chaos.
Also, since United's general boarding groups go Window (3), Middle (4), Aisle (5) then basic, aim for a window seat if you're on a regular economy ticket!
Great tip on United. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Very informative! Good job!
Thanks! Glad it was useful. 👍
As a Delta Platinum Medallion I know exactly what you mean. Delta devalued Platinum Medallion this year and now they board after C+ and with Gold. It was frustrating, but the auto upgrade to C+ makes certain I have overhead space. And, make sure your subscriber's know that MB1 Is really not priority boarding since anyone with a Delta CC gets that also. That means pretty much everyone.
Good to know. Thanks for the clarification! 👍
Since I'm based out of Chicago, I'm pretty UA loyal and have the Explorer card. I find the free checked back and priority boarding incredibly valuable. There was a year where we were doing a lot of travel with UA and opted by purchase the Economy Plus subscription. We ended up saving money, getting more space, and priority boarding. I'd suggest folks look into that as it may be a viable option. We always buy Economy Plus so it made sense for us. I've also flown that more space option with Jet Blue and it was delightful.
I need to check out the Economy Plus subscription. It does sound like an interesting program. Thanks for sharing! 👍
We traveled on Delta this past week from Atlanta to Sacramento and Active Duty Military and their spouse (us) received priority boarding above diamond status members. Welcome surprise. Also, Atlanta was a 45 min layover hub transferring from a smaller plain. Was glad I checked my pilot bag otherwise we might have missed our connecting flight waiting in line immediately after landing.
Very cool! Glad to hear that Delta is honoring our Active Duty servicemembers. 😊
Hi,, the for the tips, the priority boarding with the brand cards, is buying the ticket or just showing at the counter...
The United Explorer card is connected to your account, so as long as your ticket includes your frequent flyer number, you should get the priority boarding benefit.
Do you know of any good sites or blogs where it breaks down how many points you need for economy/first class flights ? What airlines have the best redemptions to the city you want to travel
I usually start my award flight search at awardhacker.com. It gives me a good starting point on which airlines serve my origin and destination, how I should search on the flight (i.e., directly with the airline or through a specific partner airline), and which points I can use to transfer over. It doesn't show exact availability, but it helps to narrow the choices when I'm looking for award flights, even for first-class and business-class flights. Awardhacker also shows the points that are usually required for the booking.
Hope that's helpful! I'm definitely thinking of doing a video on my process for searching for award flights. 👍
Trip Astute thanks Ernest appreciate you commenting back :) that video in the future would be helpful 👍
Barclays aviator mastercard (personal and business) also gets you preferred boarding. (for you and up to 4 others)
on American Airlines
Thanks! I completely forgot to check the Barclaycard AA cards. 😄
Thanks 👍🏽
Thanks for checking out our video and channel! 😊
Great video. Keep up the great work 👍
Hey I recognized Sacramento airport in there for b-roll Are you based there?
No, we are based in Los Angeles. We flew up there a few months ago to visit Lassen Volcanic National Park. 😊
Very insightful. Thanks for making this video.
Thanks Todd. Glad the video was helpful. 👍
Great info, thanks.
Thanks Juan! Glad the video was helpful. 😊
The collapsible bag. Awesome idea. 😎
Thanks! It's definitely saved me on several occasions. 😊
