I just found your channel and all your lectures that I’ve watched are super helpful. For me as person who’s learning korean by themselves, books and websites are sometime cannot explain things better than a real teacher, especially a professor. I’m so glad I found your channel. Thank you so much professor🙏🏼
i like to review the grammars i've learnt during my korean class so i will look for videos like this. starting to get the hang of it!! thank you so much.
Because it is actually a defining word or an adjective or even a relative clause. 것 means "thing" and 는 defines it, like "the thing that...". For example 노래하는 것: the singing thing". That's how I understand it and I hope it helps!!
Remember that Korean verbs come at the end of the sentence. To "move them" into the middle of a sentence, they must be conjugated first. We conjugate them into nouns using either 기 or 는것. He teaches at a university. This is the beginning of a third class so his students have already had 6-8 semester hours of Korean before they begin to study this. This is about my level but it took many hours of study to understand. Good luck in your studies!

Can I know why prof yoon use 은 instead of 이 after 는 것 here? 6:51
Because it is actually a defining word or an adjective or even a relative clause. 것 means "thing" and 는 defines it, like "the thing that...". For example 노래하는 것: the singing thing". That's how I understand it and I hope it helps!!
고마워요
Yes 너무 갑사합니다!!! ^^

I'm still confused about 는 가 를 when it comes to 는 것 & 기
I know how to use them properly but when it comes to 는 것 & 기 i don't know how to use them
어제 이건 배웠어요..
When to use 것이 것을
것이 is used if there is an adjective and 것을 is used when there is action verb
것이 is when you want to make a verb as the subject of your sentence
Thank you so much
안녕하세요 선생님.
1 전 독서 하는 것을 좋아해요.
2 전 텔레비전을 보는 것은 좋아해요.
3 전 골프치는 것을 좋아해요.🙏
( 것을> 건 / 걸/) 👈 this point is most important . 감사합나다 선생님.
것은 = 건
것을 = 걸
것=거
것이=게/거가
것을=걸/거를
것은=건/거는
.
PRACTICE SENTENCES:
남들앞에 노래하기싫어합니다.
시간있어면 목공하는것을 좋아요
친구하고 한국말애기하는것을 좋아요
좋아해요*
because 좋아요
means just that somthing is good....
좋다 is an adjactive
하다
makes it to be an verb to like so
thank you soooo much
아 정말 감사합니다. 거의 2년 동안 한국어를 배우고 있지만 문법은 저에게 정말 힘들어요. 사실 옛날에 오래 전에 이 문법 이미 배웠습니다 하지만 문법의 이유/뜻을 모르겠습니다.
If u saw my comment can u tell me when to use each postpositional with "는 것" I mean 은/는 이/가 을/를 please
Thank you sir.
Can you upload by bdf ??
2024 I just found this very helpful
감사합니다!
hope someone will notice me..here's my question how can you translate 좋아하는것 and 어떤 게? thank you😊
I think 좋아하는 것 has a meaning of "like or liking".
I am an absolute beginner, hope someone else come and help us
좋아하는 것 what i like
어떤 게 Can be translated as what type (what kind)
Why is bowling 볼링치다 and golfing 골프치다?
치다 is an expression of "hitting" something
테니스 치다
배드민턴 치다
탁구 치다
배구하다
농구하다
야구하다
수영하다
Whats a different with ~는 거? Its same?
Yes, -거 is a simple form of -것. For example, 이것, 저것, 그것 can be said 이거, 저거, 그거, respectively.
@@ProfYoonsKoreanLanguageClass 감사합니다 선생님
What the difference between 는게 and 는건 ?
는게 - 는것이 untuk topik 는건 - 는거는 untuk subject
-하는 게: = -하는 것이 --> simple statement
-하는 건: = -하는 것은 --> conveys meaning of "difference", "contrast"
e.g.
수영하는게 좋아.
수영하는 건 좋은데 수영장이 너무 멀어서 자주 못 가.
pasatiempo
