    May I ask what is the difference between "TV 를 보다가 숙제를 했어요" and "TV 를 보고나서 숙제를 했어요" ? Thank you :)

    • @katya5573
      @katya5573 3 года назад +1

      The second sentence means that you “finished watching tv then did the homework”
      Lit. I did homework *after* watching tv.
      You can also use (ㄴ 후에) to mean the same thing..

    교수님 can i interpret -다가 as "after"? For example: 설탕을 마셔다가 지금 괜찮아요. Is the sentence correct grammatically? Thank you for your video, it is so good. The material is similar to standard korean language program's syllabus and your way of explaining is fun and interesting since you try to engage with the viewers as well.

    • @ProfYoonsKoreanLanguageClass
      @ProfYoonsKoreanLanguageClass  3 года назад

      -다가 is more like 'while ~' than 'after ~' because we use 다가 when the first action is not completed yet. In your sentence, there is only one action (마시다), so your sentence meaning is not clear.

    교수님 질문 있습니다.
    극장에 가다가 친구를 봤어요.
    쇼핑하다가 너무 좋은 옷을 봤어요
    As for me I would put 면서 to those sentences. Because action is still continuing while second action is happening. But it is how the original sentences were on book.
    So I wonder if there is another way to understand the native using of it 😊

    • @ProfYoonsKoreanLanguageClass
      @ProfYoonsKoreanLanguageClass  4 года назад +4

      When you use ~으면서, the status of the two actions are similar. However, if you use ~다가, the second action is more emphasized. For example, in the first sentence 극장에 가다가 친구를 봤어요, you want to emphasize you met your friend and "극장에 가다가" is background information.
