The material is similar to standard korean language program's syllabus and your way of explaining is fun and interesting since you try to engage with the viewers as well.
-다가 is more like 'while ~' than 'after ~' because we use 다가 when the first action is not completed yet. In your sentence, there is only one action (마시다), so your sentence meaning is not clear.

When you use ~으면서, the status of the two actions are similar. However, if you use ~다가, the second action is more emphasized. For example, in the first sentence 극장에 가다가 친구를 봤어요, you want to emphasize you met your friend and "극장에 가다가" is background information.
