    • @miou-miou-
      @miou-miou- 2 года назад

      not that all claves are made out of mahogany but.. there is NO tone-wood.. mahogany, hardwood, is found in/on most instruments.
      sorry but it was talked about soooo much when building guitars and such and there is just no truth to it.
      save your money and just grab to jenga pieces and wack them against each other and you will have pretty much that same sound.

    I was so thrilled when you reacted to Bad Company's "Feel Like Makin Love." The singer (Paul Rodgers) and drummer (Simon Kirke) from Free later formed Bad Company. But Free's hallmark was guitarist Paul Kossoff's sound. No one before or since had a tone like his. RIP Paul. Finally, bassist & pianist Andy Fraser was no slouch either. This song has that awesome bass hook in the middle. Of course, the appeal of this song is its simplicity. I've heard different mixes/arrangements of this song on box sets & re-issues of their albums, and they all suffer from too much production & polish. This (classic) version sounds like you're right in the room with the guys.

    This is one of the greatest Rock songs of all time. Free are one of the sadly underrated British bands of the 70s. Every bit as good as any of those considered to be major bands at the time, absolutely amazing. The singer Paul Rodgers and the Drummer Simon Kirke went on to form Bad Company. Well worth diving deeper into Free.
    I believe the girl/woman he's singing about is Gloria Jones, who was in later years Marc Bolan's girlfriend.

    The song was co written by the grossly underrated bass player Andy Fraser, who was 18 at the time, having joined Free at the age of 16.
    Not that anyone will see this, but on the off chance, search for Free at the Isle of Wight Festival and have a watch of the band perform "Mr Big" live.
    Sublime

    Another band you should check out is Humble Pie. “Thirty Days in the Hole” is probably their best known song. This is the band Peter Frampton played lead guitar in before striking out on his own.

    Random comment for Amber. Please react to Bonnie Tyler “It’s a Heartache” for female Friday!! Talk about grit which y’all are always talking about. Another one by her that made her more famous “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” Who else agrees??

    Many other rock vocalists and musicians will cite Paul Rogers as their favorite vocalist. They call him "the voice."
    If I recall right, his later band Bad Company (which you've reacted to before) was the first band signed to the Swan Song label, which was the label created by Led Zeppelin, so Amber's shirt is appropriate. 👍

    When this album came out these guys were barely 20, their first album “Tons of Sobs” is considered one of the best Brit blues albums “Ever”. Paul Roders has had a stellar career, considered best blues and rock voice in the UK. Lead guitarist Paul Kossoff as you can tell just set the band apart from music of the time. A must watch is “Free at Isle of Wight”

Music, and my soul, would never be the same. Could there ever be a better cruising song than this one? Ever?❤May rock live forever.

    When I think of great rock classics this is near the top. This gem came out in 1970 and hit number 4 on the charts.Paul Rodgers is Phenomenal. A lesser known song by Free but none the less a great song was MY BROTHER JAKE. After Free Paul Rodgers and his drummer started the band Bad Company with hits like FEEL LIKE MAKIN' LOVE and ROCK 'N' ROLL FANTASY.
