Brian it is hard to get a puppy trained, but when you do it is great. Patience and take time to train. You both will get through this, treats for good behavior.

Hi Brian and Meadow , i was thinking maybe you could put her on a 30 or 50 foot line and let her get use to it, and it would give her boundaries . Leash training would be good also. Hope yall have a great weekend.

Puppies can be quite taxing, but she'll grow out of this bad behavior. I adopted a Great Dane pup years ago and he chewed up three rooms of furniture. I was very frustrated because no matter what I did he just did what he wanted, but he finally outgrew this stage and became a wonderful, obedient, very peaceful boy.

Time to do some hard core training with your dog. And ya know, there's nothing wrong with hitching Meadow the a long rope sometimes to keep her out of trouble! I would.

Awesome channel Brian ! Nature is very exciting, especially to a young dog. Eating the mouse and fish and chasing squirrels is a way Meadow is practicing her survival skills as well as in her DNA. She loves her dad for sure.

Teenagers 🤦🏽‍♀️I didn’t know that phase when I got my pups. Thanks for sharing. I just got an 11 yr old dog from humane society in Cali. Completely different from what they told me. He was probably medicated (most are to stay calm in shelters). Lots of howling, crying & looking at me like the stepmom he never wanted 😂. Makes setting up camp difficult. But it will eventually work out. Right?! Take Care. We all miss Sierra.

love to you for taking in an older doggie. trying to help my 9 year old get over losing her companion. she is so depressed. does not want to stay in my room anymore. looks for pie all over the house. howls. sits and stares at me with an emotion i cannot name but it is like she thinks i took him away for meanness. then just walks to their room and goes in and lays down in their bed. am dealing with my sisters newly diagnosed breast cancer and a 92 year old mother who insists on staying in her house. she is fit and able to but i still have to make regular checks. hoping time will heal lily and she will forgive me. god bless you.

Btw some of my puppy's hyperactivity stopped when we switched his food... The food he had was about 60% carbs, NOT good for hyperactivity... Get a food that is high protein and as low of a carb percentage as you can afford and she'll probably start calming down. Can't hurt to try 🤷

I’m so glad my dog doesn’t eat dead things or roll in stinky stuff. But yeah, she’s behaving like a young dog. She’ll grow out of it. I used to get so pissed at my dog for misbehaving and now she is just so wonderful.

How old was Sierra when you got her?
Also, Meadow can feel your grief and it may be a heavy load for her to carry.
She is just a puppy and needs to be on a leash out there until you train her.
What if she gets bit by a rattle snake, she is so small and far from a vet, she may not make it.
You need to take time to train her on leash, then off, then Come, Leave It, Stop or Down, and go to your Spot.
I know you are very sad but Meadow is not Sierra. Meadow is Meadow.
    Luv you both❤❤❤

I can't do this thought of get rid of her but im like no i made a promise to her that shes my forever id never get rid of her fast forward 4 yrs and honestly i love her so much shes is not the same dog it takes time trainer told me to stop comparing her to my previous dogs shes not them but it was hard not comparing to the perfect dog from before time and love she will be the perfect dog . Dog discipline takes work every day. Most dogs dont just come around. They take routine. Also, i like your travels, but in my opinion, your land videos are the best.
    And with your traveling
We arent going to get those garden videos you talked about. Also maybe you could tie meadow on a lead, keep her under control. Oh wow, I've always said if it comes to a stranger or my animals, sorry strangers lose.

I hate to say it, but you need to discipline that dog and let it know who is the boss. Not like hit it or anything, but it isn't going to listen or respect if it feels its the alpha.
My suggestion would be pay and have someone help you for a month or too. You need to be really disciplined about it, but it will be worth it and make a great dog and companion long term.

She picks up on your frustration along with being a hyper puppy. Try to be calm, firm and consistent with her. Also, you don't want to foster separation anxiety in her by not being with her when she needs to feel secure.
