I truly enjoy the back and forth between you both. You can push back against each others thoughts/ideas/opinions with respect and understanding and love. Mostly I love The way you let each other be who they are without judgement or resentment. ❤ Thanks for sharing all this very personal stuff with all of us.

Girl preach🙌🏻 My husband and I have been together 29 years and we sleep separately. We have very different sleeping styles ( tv on vs not ,different room temps, and my hubbie moves in his sleep so much) and would never been able to sleep together. I don’t know why people need to know how you SLEEP ? I think people are trying to be nosey about something else without saying it.

    • @MyVanMonty

I think it’s more common that couples sleep separately than people think. There are no “rules”. So what works for your relationship… and it’s obviously working for them. (And you)

Thank you for being brave and putting yourselves out there. I actually see a lot of similarities between your relationship and the one I have with my girlfriend. I’m more like you Chris and my girlfriend is a lot like Linnea. I see how you love the way she lives life and think she’s amazing and appreciate the way she has come in and opened up your outdoor experiences. My girlfriend has done that for me. We both appreciate natures beauty and benefits. We want to experience the peace and freedom that comes from being outdoors, but our upbringings were very different and thus so are our comfort levels when it comes to conveniences. Last summer we made a 30+ day trek from Texas to the west side of Canada in her Toyota Yaris hatchback 🚗 with our pup! Wow! I had never done anything like that before and my comforts were challenged!! The compromise around our comfort levels and the challenge of finding the best time to express individual needs can put a lot of stress on a relationship. It’s been really helpful watching another couple like you guys going through and also trying to figure it out! Job well done! You’re not alone in this! Keep it up! Keep it real. I am wishing the best for you both just like I am for me and my girl ❤.

I love how everyone projects their own triggers and stuff onto you and the way you interact. I’m team separate covers and separate rooms when we’re at home. We even built our van that we can have separate beds. Helps a lot to not go crazy in small space😅 Been following girls for a while, first time on Chris channel. Like you and your energy guys❤ keep up the good work👍

I think why you are so good together is that you compromise and respect each other’s needs and wishes. You’re very independent souls and your differences is what makes your connection unique and your free and comfortable to discuss what makes you happy ❤❤❤

I came here thanks to Linnea as I had been following her channel for ages and figured... might as well get to know her partner since he has his own channel. I really enjoyed this podcast-style share because even if you're "just sitting and chatting" I like the video (visual) to go along with audio as I rarely listen to podcasts (audio only). I usually save these sorts of podcast RUclips vids for when working it's lovely to hear the conversation "in the background" (as I do online work and it helps trick my mind into feeling less alone).

Great podcast. I loved how Chris turned around the question about keeping score of compromises to say that he is able to recognize when it's his turn to compromise in terms of where you're sleeping. That and the fact that you two couldn't even remember the discussion that lead to Chris traveling in the 4-window bus. That shows that the compromise wasn't that big of a deal to you both. Not like there was this massive "discussion" that lead to that compromise. So wonderful to see.

I think relationship wise I felt like it was early on in the relationship to be 24-7. I like alone time, I am independent if I can get that time I probably get the Linea look in my eyes too lol. You were both so happily independent, so that blending in a freezing cold forest, “forced togetherness” is huge, I was actually proud you rolled out together in the end. Does it mean you are not soul mates because you enjoy solo time, or different things no way. You are two awesome, whole people, on your own. Together-amazing. Just keep showing up for each other even if it means freedom to solo trip. ❤

This is great for a couple of friends traveling together in operate rigs too. My cousin & I traveled some 3 years ago. I had to come home early due to my only sibling being ill. We lost him and I've been stuck in my grief since then.
We are about to head out again late spring. We travel well together because we communicate openly about our needs. We share a lot of things, she's in a van & me a tiny camper with a 4x4 truck for towing. It works out great, she does runs all the errands using my truck.
    It's all about the compromises.
    Safe travels y'all!!!

Ohmygod! It's so nice to hear people talk more positively about couples having separate rooms. My parents always had separate rooms (my mom likes it hot and quiet; my dad snores LOUD and he likes it freezing). I'd definitely want my own bedroom in a relationship where I'm living with a partner.

Don't understand that😆, the best part of falling asleep is cuddling or feelings the body of your partner next to you at night, sleeping alone might as well be single as well as having separate covers 🥴

I dont have a bus but I get how Chris feels about his bus, he put his whole heart into his build so has an attachment that one doesnt understand unless you've done that.❤ So enjoyed your podcast, live life to the fullest everyday. One more thing, the fact that Lennea can find peace out in the wild by herself speaks volumes to me that I cant even comprehend nor would find peace in doing so.❤ Wait, wait one more thing, you two make it work for each other, dont ever let go of your own space, I think thats the ticket to happiness and freedom.❤

I love the way your lives have merged, yet kept your individuality & sometimes separate spaces. You talk rather than sulk & blame. Seems to be a wonderful, mature adult relationship. Talking things out before any resentment builds up is so critical. I really like the fact that you're honest, not putting on a scripted show. I'm with Chris on the "showy, fake" stuff. I won't watch those channels. I enjoy your channels, the excellent videography, & the pups. Fortunately for me, the dog that has slept with me & been my best friend for 13 years only weighs about 30lbs. So, not a lot of fighting for space or covers. 😊 Thank you for the honest entertainment.

I am a gen x and I really wish it was more of a thing at that time to do something like this. It never occurred to me that I could live in a vehicle and travel around for a while when I was young. That would have suited my personality. That being said though, I didn't have a cell phone so safety would have been even more of a consideration and there was no real access for me at that time to internet to platforms such as this to learn and hear stories. It is wonderful that people are doing this now more commonly.

You are free, be free. its a challenge of lifestyles. know you will figure it out, but its never today or even tomorrow.. and the goal will evolve. But that spider bite was crazy AF.

Hi guys, I download as many films as possible incase I don't have signal, my question is perhaps for the future podcast, I know your vehicles are very different, what one has been more reliable, or easier fixed perhaps has less electronics to go wrong.

Kobuck seems very alert, like he’s on guard which is amazing and Akela is chill, searching the surroundings which is amazing as well lol
You have a wonderful family ❤

it sounds like Linnea experiences sensory overload as I do. Curious Linnea if you consider yourself an empath or if you have experienced empathic abilites?

Busses are made and have to meet FTC standards to save the lives of kids who aren't wearing seatbelts. It's a steel cage. A van is a van. Nuff said! ;-) P.S. I have a 4-window. I might be biased. I'll own that!

Hi, guys….my thoughts on compromise for you two is that Chris definitely compromises more. Love you , Linnea, but you aren’t the big compromiser here. And, as far as bus living goes, I see your points, but I think your winter off grid last year in Wisconsin woukd have been much less enjoyable without the big, comfy bus to go into. Linnea, I can totally relate to being negatively affected by the sounds of citites….and I also cannot abide the sound of generators out in nature! Chris, I HATE being “sticky” as well. I grew up in New Orleans and, in summer, I was always sticky….hate it!

@teslah2997 I’m glad you think you can judge an entire relationship based on a single podcast episode, the audacity. That being said, if you’ve watched ANY of their previous videos they’ve done together you would see that Linnea has ALWAYS been up front about who she is and what she wants her life to look like and Chris has always accepted that with open arms. In his own words, he’s said this in other videos. As much as I love RUclips and the glimpses into people’s lives that I enjoy and respect, I don’t expect that I know everything about them. It’s an hour out of their lives, we don’t know everything. So when people sit here and judge or act like they actually know some shit it’s infuriating. It’s the #1 reason I could never do RUclips. I would not be as kind as these two to people who think they know Jack shit about my life based on a tiny tiny portion of my entire life. 😒

@@ginabrytowski3564 while I appreciate your loyalty to Linnea and Chris, as I, too, greatly admire them…..your over-the-top outrage is very misplaced. I have watched Linnea from the beginning. I was merely expressing what I have observed, no attack going on. My observation was not meant as a criticism. They could think about it or not. So, respectfully, you can stick YOUR ATTACK, YOUR JUDGMENT on me up your you-know-what. My comment was merely to acknowledge, which I am pretty sure Linnea realizes, what a gem of a man Chris is

@@teslah2997 it’s not judgment or outrage, it’s aggravation over the arrogance. If you respect them at all (you said admire it’s different) you would realize you only get a snippet of their life and you are not qualified to make assumptions. Again the absolute audacity is wild.

In Linnea's QA almost a year ago, she spoke on the topic of children, frankly she wasn't so sure about raising children. And there has been recently times, I think when her mom came to visit that she voiced not wanting children.
So on the topic of compromise, knowing Chris' interest in raising a family, are you two going to touch on that again for public viewing? Or is that still something to be worked out amongst respective parties?
