Chris’s story about the friend who said “the place will always be there, but the people won’t” was the most moving part of this video for me. Thank you for sharing, as it is a thought we all should realize!
I really appreciated what Linnea said about “pushy males.” I have three young adult daughters - I’ve always taught them “you don’t have to be polite when people are not being polite to you or you don’t feel safe.” This teaching started when my 10yo was at the public library and a creepy man kept following and cornering her. She was afraid to make noise or be rude because she was always told to be quiet in the library. “it is okay not want to be bothered!” Preach this over and over!
I think that the two of you are such amazing people. I am SO Happy you met and are a couple! The two of you seem so comfortable and in sync with each other and same with the dogs. I enjoy seeing the funny joking around you do with each other. Also, the fact that you each are willing to go and do things that the other may enjoy more shows the depth of your love for the other. Take care and safe travels! Thank you for sharing so much with us! 😊❤️
Why is it SO RELAXING just sitting back and listening to you guys talk about "van life"??? I have NO IDEA why, but it is a whole chill vibe, and I am here for it!!! Good discussion!!!
Chris, your gut never steers you wrong! And there are some whacky people out there. Ya’ll stay safe! Maybe I’m jaded because we live in between two high crime areas, but always keep your head on a swivel. Not paranoid, just guarded.
Being flexible in your lifestyles is a positive. Towns/cities are villages...Having a network or entering for purchases in some format just validates/supports your presence within their boundaries... Nomads/flexible homelessness - blessedly "Living a journey". The Best path is what works and is sustainable for your journey - different methods/styles enhance trials and joys to the next step. Adapt as you can or want for your daily growth...also in patience and resilience. Enjoy 😊 💖
I see van lifers out near where I live all the time in cooler seasons. I live in Southern AZ. Come summer (I work in a school district), I'll be spending part of the warm season traveling with my dogs in my car
Great podcast u2. And that background is so so awesome, but of course that is why your there ❤❤ one shot with the dogs standing was so very cool as well ty so much for content. Chris I saw the butterfly 🦋 lolz he was really like hey ya see that without speech.. enjoy enjoy
I've had the police called 3 times in 30 days. I pitch a shade canopy in a park and within an hour someone has called that I'm camping. The nicer the neighborhood the faster the police show up
That is the beauty of having a dog, they hear everything, good protection. What salad is it that you guys love? Maybe you could pull a trailer with your pottery wheel and supplies. Just a thought. Good video 😊
Having a dog definitely helps with strangers! But also I always just bring the old Midwest man phrases out - alright well I better get back to it - and then just stare at them, and repeat yourself if they don’t get the hint. Most people will carry on! Also Chris saying that there are no distractions outside and me rolling haha.
I was driving highway 91, watching the sunset 🌅 along with Mojave Desert. Listening to your podcast as I reached the Piuate reservation. Eating a McFlurry! (Ironically) lol Looking up at the mountains and thinking to myself. Wow, you two are brave and inspiring. ❤ Thank you so very much. Appreciated and admired ❤
Whoa, in your talk Linnea about that spot you started going to te,n years go, my eyes got wet seeing the beautiful background. Wowie! Thanks for that camera view. Woo ha ooo. How about that sound!
Would be cool to talk about some more logistical things like insurance or registeration for a van/skoolie and details that come with the lifestyle. I’m currently building out a van and these things seem impossible to find sometimes.
Talking about safety way off-grid vs. close or in the city. I was camping next to a river during bear season here in Idaho by myself as I do...I had two male hunters with guns walk up and we had a nice cup of coffee together. But they approached very respectfully from a distance and said how they could smell my good coffee for half a mile. If that would of happened closer to town...that would have elicited a totally different response from me. I have never felt completely safe by myself in a city-safe enough to sleep but not with my door open for sure. I go in, get groceries, do laundry, go to a dog park, take a shower, and get out. The times I've spent the night in town were at Walmart, Cracker Barrel, Home Depot, or Costco or with a group of friends in a semi-industrial area. And the only time I've had stuff taken off my rig was in a city (my axe and shovel). I'm definitely not a city dweller but a lot of my vanlife friends are so I'll occasionally hang out in a city.
I have been wondering for a little while now if your relationship is in jeopardy due to the differences in what makes each of you happy. Wishing both of you much happiness and peace.
I’m like you Linnea, solo female feeling most safe out in the middle of nowhere, and feel like a fairy in the forest wanting to create and soak in the nature and solitude ☺️ Also Chris you got a great evil villain laugh at the beginning ☺️
I think it'd be kinda funny, but also really cool, Chris, if the next time you ended up filming yourself going into town on one of your little missions if you'd play mission impossible music, or something similar while you'redriving in. 😎🤣
Hello from England! With regards the public land, we do have some of it here, there are national parks and the like, but it is illegal to stay on it unless you have permission from the landowner, with the exception of Dartmoor, where you can wild camp without permission but not in a camper. In Scotland you can wild camp anywhere but again, only in a tent, not a camper. We are absolutely lousy with campsites though, they're literally everywhere, everything from caravan parks to a farmer's field without any toilets. Many people do park up places in their camper, too, and nothing much comes of it so long as you are respectful and move on if the police come and ask you to. I would love to visit America one day and go camping in the backcountry of Wyoming and Montana, around the Yellowstone area. It would be amazing to experience that.
I wouldn’t. I just done spent too much time back there and the rigs currently get pretty far back. Linnea said she will probably stick with her rig, but possibly.
Stay true to your self and your beliefs and comfort zone. We have been fed alot of BS to believe alot of lies that support the structure that many dont subscribe to...
We have a great space here called MakeICT $25/MO all access pottery, woodshop, fabrics studio, screen printing and more, for when you're staying near Wichita!
My ex was really into Jiu jitsu.. and we'd get to play fighting, and I would just start to giggle and go limp like a wet noodle. He'd say that was the best defense I could possibly have, because he literally couldn't put any move on me.. 😂
⬅️➡️You both have your unique desires, however they are opposite to each others true personal desires. I have noticed this about you both a while back. Each of you articulate your preferences and your both just accommodating each other, but that will weight on you both. I hope you both will come to a place where you lay down your lifestyles for each other, if you love each growing old.
I really don't understand the issue with the generator people. I don't own one i have never used one. I have camped with people using a generator. And I just don't know what the issue is. I don't mind it one bit. I understand that one would be going out there to get away from the noise...but a generator? I don't know i just don't see an issue with it. for some reason when i have been in bear country (i am in canada) and i hear a generator it gives me a sense of peace and feel safer in a way LOL Anyone else feel that way?
It doesn’t bother me as much as it bothers Linnea. When I use it near people, I always try and have it off by 8 or so, incase others are trying to sleep. It’s when it’s on all the time that I’m not a fan.

You two were my Friday night date. Thanks for the company. 😁
Love seeing their podcast 🥰
Thanks for joining 🙂
You two are so special, individually and as a couple. Chris, you looked especially chill. Must be the sunglasses. ✌️❤️🚐
Watching the dogs on the edge is freaking me out.

I’m really enjoying your podcast! Please don’t stop ! You both kick ass ! Thank you ! 👍✌️❤️

Yeah, for sure. Once you have some experience with bad people, you never forget it
The dogs were making me nervous standing by the cliff 😂😬
Happy Birthday Akela!
Such beautiful nature….helps me feel calm by just looking!❤

Chris, I respect your sleeveless shirts game and need some recommendations for companies that sell good sleeveless shirts!
Amazon 🙂 amzn.to/3xi8HyT
Ohhh perfect!!!! You da man.
4..5..6...How you guys nice view.. beautiful day .
Good video! When scouting, do you think it would be a good idea to use a drone to scout a road before going down it?
Possibly, but driving in a small car gives me direct feedback that applies to how well the bus will do
It's 💯 okay to be straight up if you find pushy people approach you.
Air down when going on soft ground

She is really birchy to him
@@vickistarz9380 No she’s not. They are both great people.

Thanks for the clarification on that, much appreciated 🤘🏼. And we hope you travel here as well!
Would you consider the next vehicle be 4x4 capable? The question is for both.
I wouldn’t. I just done spent too much time back there and the rigs currently get pretty far back. Linnea said she will probably stick with her rig, but possibly.

Take care.
I'm the type of person who you could leave your keys and wallet. Wish everyone was. I love you guys. Stay safe. ❤
Safety first. Sometimes you don't get a second chance.
testing one, two, three ...
While that sounds like an expensive meal with city friends, it’s worth it for being able to use their utilities
Hi guys at what point would you consider getting up and leaving a spot at night or even though the day .
When we run out of supplies, most of the time anyway.
@@theoffgridskoolie am thinking more annoying people or something like that .

Not to mention that round worms and hook worms that show up in your pets stool are contagious to humans. Please pick up after your pets please.

My 39 yr old son got his butt kicked in jujitsu by a 65 yr old man. (and my son is STRONG) it's all technique. 😊
