Danielle, this is a great video. You directed everything smoothly, i like the Jerry Q&A, the Navajo words were really interesting, and as usual we learned a lot about daily activities with the cows and horses out on the range. All with a sprinkling of humor. Really engaging. Whenever i watch your episodes, i feel like im seeing some of the last bits of western Americana, beautiful views of a waning life style, a poignant authentic slice of our nation’s history.

Navajo is so interesting to listen to. I would love to learn Cherokee. I'm part Cherokee (I'm a mutt, like 6 or 7 nationalities, so less than 25% of them all) but wasn't raised with my father's family. I got a natural knack for making dream catchers and I used to have the smell for deer like a bloodhound, used to track very well....but I'm losing my talents as I get older haha.

In my younger days I rode for George Cline down at Tonto Basin he said he would never hire a cowboy that wore at straw hat wore gloves or rolled his own cigarettes if there not getting off their horse picking up there hat their gloves rolling a cigarette.

So you end up keeping most of the foals? If not, how do you decide which ones not to keep? Man ued to ride 6 days a week. Some team penning and competative trail. My quarter horses were the best. I sure do miss em. Your horses are lovely!

Salty, Dash, Texas, and Tru Blu have all died. We put the mares with particular studs and try to make the BEST BABIES 😁

I am not familiar with the process of cattle branding, and I am curious to know whether it causes significant pain to cows. I saw the video and was quite shocked by what I saw. I want to make it clear that I am not accusing you of anything; I am simply an ignorant person seeking more information. Hi, I am a new Subscriber.
I’m sure it sings for a little bit but it sure helps ranchers in the long run! Plus it’s Arizona state law.

Right shoulder. It’s Arizona State law to have all roaming livestock branded.

Because that’s the designated branding area for our brand…. That’s how brands are registered in Arizona- they have an assigned spot.
