Just a little tip: You could have downloaded One more FPS mod, which only works if you have an Nvidia GPU, and in this case you do, its called "Nvidium" it is supposed to extended to the performance gains of Sodium, it could easily increase like a 100 FPS.
Yeah. I can confidently say that 100 more fps to his 14,346 fps would drastically change the game. It would feel smoother. 14346 is not enough.

Cleanroom team does an amazing job to optimize 1.12.2 for the people who still dev packs in that version, UniversalFix, VintageFix, CensoredASM/LoliASM, and the Mixins to make all this work, and that's without your average BetterFPS and other normal optimized mods setup (except Optifine, do not ever use Optifine for the loves god, and VanillaFix cuz it crashes with the mods mentioned) can get you amazing optimizations for ram usage and fps in general, it's thanks to them as to why is it possible to use java 20 to play 1.12.2
You can run the Titan that is Divine Jurney 2 with 2GB of ram thanks to their mods, absolutely crazy
lunar is ass, so bad u could get more fps on 1.20
A professionally optimized barebones Linux based OS could probably achieve the same on a device with half the hardware power if all other variables are equal. You should give that a try.
Finally! Someone says it! I'm surprised that this person didn't use Linux with an AMD GPU in the first place. Then again not that many people understand how much performance they're losing by using Windows itself.
fr this summer finally decided to trash windows 11 and installed a relatively new hobby-maintained distro of linux (PikaOS, if someone's interested) and WOW. I was told that installing drivers and running windows games from wine was super difficult but that couldn't be further than truth. All drivers preinstalled (nvidia was just a install button on the welcome menu), preconfigured protonGE which runs "non-native" games at x3 the fps...
Now I'm playing heavy modpacks on 1.18 with a 3060 at 600+ fps, so yeah fuck windows
Linux From Scratch + absolutely minimal window manager (like dwm but without bar and keybinds) + very optimized jvm + some minecraft optimizations (disabling light ticksz entity ticks, static random) will probably push this record far even on average pcs. I think the main goal here to be in "comfortable to play" range, so no custom worlds and no client modifications that change the way game works significantly.
I run Arch and manage 6000 FPS with a GTX 1060 and Ryzen 5 2600, so with a more modern build and even just a little work you could easily beat this record.
@@Ne-vc5pm Ah theres no real point to using LFS for that. Arch works perfectly fine. Even Gentoo. There won't be much of a performance difference if at all going from arch to LFS. Just a much harder install process and having to wait maybe 40 hours for compiling.
Back in early 2010s when the world was 30 fps, I thought that we don’t really need higher (30 fps is comfortable enough).. until I started playing on 60 fps! 30 fps feels like a pet peeve now, but I still think 120 fps is being extra. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if I start playing on 240 fps and wouldn’t stand 120.
Though I don’t think you really need to go higher than 960 fps at absolute best, the human’s reaction time can only go so far afterall.
when you go 60 to 120 its a much bigger differance than 120 to 240 so i would say 120hz is the best for the average consumer who wants to game. the limit to hz rn is like 540hz which is insane. nobody imo would ever need that.
For sure. For a while I thought streamers complaining about 60 to 120 fps being low were being stupid. Oh how I was wrong. I remember playing on 30 fps maximum on this old Pentium 4 Dell OptiPlex desktop I have, years ago, and it ran at 15 to 30 fps on all low settings on a small window. When I went to 60 fps on normal settings on a full window, on a GT 710 on another PC and it was huge. Then I went to 200 to 500 fps on a gaming laptop a few years later and that's just overkill. I can't notice anything past 120/144fps anyway since my monitor maxes out at 144hz. Maybe having a 360hz monitor would help me notice a difference but probably not nearly as much as going from 60 to 144 fps. I also was at 15 to 30 fps on Fortnite in 2018 on the same GT 710 but then went to 60 to 80 fps on a laptop I got. It was huge, but then I went from that to 100 to 150 fps, maybe 200 fps, on performance mode, and it was a night and day difference.
Could probably get a slight improvement by not just falling into the void and using f1 to toggle on/off gui to see fps.
Falling into the void means it has to process movement, health & death in the background
A few more suggestions that can make the fps higher are making a x1/0 if possible texture pack, making it black and white, making your cursor 1 pixel, deleting the game icon and name, disconecting every device except your monitor and mouse from your PC and lowering the screen brightness/disabling mouse + PC RGB. All of those should help getting to 15k xD
Yes we need that extra 0.1 ms frametime advantage

I haven't seen anyone talk about this but faster RAM should actually make the game run faster, if only ever so slightly. Also, IIRC, and the source was correct/good, 2x16 DDR5 should be the way to go for speed (6000MHz CL30 should be a good stopping point, but 8GHz RAM does exist, even if it may or may not be overkill), and it should be faster than 4x16 (because of the load on the controller somehow being significantly higher with four sticks).
Cant wait to get a 14,000 hz monitor to watch this
the video is recorded in 60hz…
I think this FPS video could be possibly improved by using Linux with a lightweight DE, as it seems JVM is more optimized on Linux than Windows (atleast in my experience), although if you are playing 1.10 and lower you might need to apply a patch or two to get NVIDIA to NOT apply threaded optimizations to MC (since it nukes the game's textures)
You could have also taskkilled Explorer during the FPS tests in Windows as Explorer handles the shell, (aka the Taskbar, Desktop (and it's icons), File Explorer and other things.) and will improve FPS, as well as taskkilling almost every unneeded service (including things like Bluetooth service and other things).
I tried Linux, but Nouveau doesn't have proper 4090 support yet so nothing can install.
I did actually kill explorer though for that final clip, and since I was on XOS there was no Bluetooth or other unneeded services - maybe just the ethernet handler?
@mcbyt I don't know if it would work, but if you use fullscreen and set the lowest resolution you should get more fps
@@mcbyt why not use the actual nvidia drivers? nouveau is not going to give you perf on a 4090
@@MenacingPerson True - the issue though is that all the Linux distros I tried use Nouveau by default, which means if Nouveau doesn't support by GPU, I can't even launch the OS to install new drivers

as for the OS, you could've forgone windows entirely and used something like linux gentoo (which was what some other people did) and applied some very specific compilation tweaks to the kernel as well as using a game-optimized kernel like linux-zen. paired with an extremely light window manager like sway or hyprland to minimize performance impact i'm pretty sure you'll be able to reach even higher. by compiling everything yourself you basically get down to the BARE minimum, even further than a custom windows version would. the only thing with distros like gentoo is that compiling takes a while and you have to be fairly knowledgeable with regards to how you set it up

Use the void world superflat preset, and don't let it fall down. The void effect is a shader, which will decrease your fps, and staying alive won't decrease performance.
1.12.2 is definitely a good choice, it's really fast. Same goes for Lunar, good choice.
My pc can hardly withstand 60 fps.
literally so true
mine can barely hold 30😭
Here's what I would do different (it's a long read so prepare):
-use an AMD GPU instead (they have better Linux and Wayland support which matters for some points below)
-use a ridiculously old version of Minecraft (We're talking early indev)
-decompile the game, optimize the code a bit to minimize draw calls, then recompile it with LWJGL linked with it instead of a separate library
--Note that draw calls and I/O bandwidth, especially in OpenGL at these kinds of fps, is the bottleneck, probably not the raw GPU or CPU compute
--To that point, replacing the entire texture atlas to be a single transparent 1x1 pixel would reduce bandwidth, although nothing would render anymore
so weather that's still Minecraft is debatable.
-run an extremely minimal install of Archlinux that only has the following things:
--Arch default packages (pretty much the bare minimum of having a booting system)
--the most minimal desktop environment out there - one for X11 and one for Wayland to test which is faster
--Ideally it would be a DE that supports the ability to skip rendering everything, similar to how the background can be set to nothing and the taskbar hidden in Windows
--a variety of self-compiled Java runtimes to test which one is the fastest (compiling them manually can give better performance on some cpus)
--a variety of JRE arguments to minimize garbage collection and maximize performance
I would do it myself but I don't have the money or motivation to do such a thing. Plus it would take weeks of optimizing and testing.
Honestly, at this point, why not transpile the whole bloody game into C or something that's compiled instead of JIT compiled/interpreted? That'll cut the dispatcher of the JVM instructions out of the question, which will probably improve performance. Compile with -Ofast, natch.
what about a wm like bspwm instead of a de?
@@user-tj2en6iy8r graalvm

@@xb1ob Think of it like going to a hotel VS having your home.
If you go to hotel you just pay 100$ for the week, you don't worry about what things you have inside, you just go there yourself.
If you live in house however, you have to have your own TV, you have to pay for repairs, for water, for electricy ETC.
If you join a server, you just connect your client to it, and it stores all data, does all the checks. You only render stuff around you.
If you have your own world, you have to render the player data, all files regarding dimensions, uncovered regions etc. by yourself.

higher end cpus dont jsut have more cores and higher base frequencies. they also have higher ipc. If someone with a 13900k or maybe a 7800x3d does all this, then they might do better.
another optimization is disabling cores. idk if you did that or not liek you showed a clip of dawid doing that so maybe you did idk. doing that if you did not do that will allow more power budget to the remaining cores. also, this could result in ln2 being brought out if gn or someone decides to compete
Different CPUs in the same architecture don’t have ipc differences, what lol? 3D vcache is an exception because it increases throughout massively and that in turn increases ipc but ipc is purely an architectural measurement
