"High rate of speed" means nothing. You probably want to say high speed. Speed is defined as distance travelled per unit time. "High rate of speed" means nothing. Do you mean "high speed"? You must mean high speed and if you mean high speed, then why don't you just say "high speed" instead of the meaningless "high rate of speed"?

At the manners Academy, he will be taught how to live normally. Set tea party table, how to be obedient to the police, learn the language of the fan etc.
It's time to change the law making fleeing a felony. The danger and cost to the taxpayers is becoming outrageous. The police resources that are being taken away from the people that need it are insurmountable.

Fleeing is a felony in many places, however, I've not noticed that wrong-doers care much about the law.
Possibly better training in PIT maneuvers is needed.
If you don't pursue wrong doers - then crime goes up and the public gets really hurt! Look at the Tacoma-Seattle area of Washington State. They've got the no pursuit policy and stolen cars and other crimes have increased.
Can you afford to lose a vehicle and replace it, if it were stolen and not recovered? If not, then support politicians who are tough on criminals and proper police education and training.
Politicians are now looking at revising the "no pursuit" rule, since the citizens in the area and business owners are really upset.
Been saying this for a long time now. To many lives endangered.

Reckless and stupid police tactics in full view.
1. After the first pit maneuver, the Scion hit a light pole head-on, a cop car should've pinned it in from behind.
That lack of foresight enabled the suspect to reverse and the chase was on again.
2. Attempting to pit the Scion on streets lined with parked cars was reckless.
Innocent parties (owners of the parked vehicles) will now needlessly incur property damage.
3. After the second pit, one cop, then another, stood behind an open passenger door leaving them vulnerable.
If the perp reversed again, they would've been squashed or suffered a career ending injuries.
I hope my constructive criticism causes WCPD (and other cops) to revise their training.
Grateful you stopped a dangerous and reckless suspect, but do your job more safely.
Those police definitely need more pursuit training asap!
I, too, noticed these tactical and strategic faux pas of this department. It made the chase appear less professionally managed and more emotionally charged. I expect the after action investigation to recommend significant changes in training for this department. Glad it was only property damage (with the direct city liability from such) and nobody was actually injured.
People get compensated for damages so no issues. Criminals need to get caught
@@elcompaish2141 Have you ever filed a claim with a government entity? They're slow, bureaucratic, and make you jump thru a lot of hoops just to get paid. The alternative for the 'parked car's owner' is to go thru their own Ins. Co. (if they had COLL covg.), but they still have a 'deductible' to contend with. And, although the accident is not their fault, if the Ins. Co. pays over a certain $ threshold, it can raise their rates. Plus, a vehicle is never the same after it's returned from a body shop. (For example, the paint doesn't match. It's close, but 99% isn't perfect.) In addition, the resale value of your car goes down, because it was in an accident. (This is known as 'diminution in value'.) These WCPD cops didn't care, because police have immunity while performing their jobs.

I think it was a stupid call to PIT the car for two reasons. One, they were on a very narrow street with cars on both sides. Somebody's car was bound to get damaged. Two, the suspects car was coming apart, and the cops knew that. It didn't have far to go and the suspect would have had to stop. But the cops look for any chance to PIT. I'm sure it's a lot of fun.
