Ed Wynn always seemed like such doll. I adored his performances as a child. I'm glad to hear acting with him was as fun as it seems it should have been.
Fun Fact: In 1933 Walt Disney actually planned to make animated live action hybrid film of Alice in Wonderland starring Mary Pickford, but the idea was scrapped when Paramount produced an all live action version that same year, so instead Walt settled on making Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Also, actor Sterling Holloway was in both that 1933 adaptation and Disney's. As he played the frog footman in the 33 version and the Chesire Cat in Disney's.

And she reprised the role several times for Kingdom Hearts. It's nice as well that once she sounded too old to do it there she was still given a different role. I wonder why they didn't have her play grown up Wendy in Return to Neverland
The mustard part use to knock me out growing up. Mustard is silly, but everything makes perfect sense for fixing a watch!🤣🤣 The side by side comparison somehow made it funnier🤣🤣🤣🤣
So my reasoning about mustard being silly is, all the things he says yes to are things that belong in tea or on a biscuit, something served with tea. Scones or biscuits are usually topped with butter or jam, but never with mustard!
My mom said this movie scared her as a child. I never got to watch this movie growing up because my mom forbidden it from the house. Even when they were playing it at my daycare, she would take me out for the day to keep me from watching it. I am not scared of this movie and I think it’s a little funny.
@anonymouslyblessed Many reasons, but the worst is that Alice became a secondary character to the Mad Hatter, played by Tim Burton's golden boy, Johnny Bl**dy Depp.
@anonymouslyblessed Yeah, the animated one is much better, and more respectful to Rev. Dodgson's work. Even so, it does fall into the trap that a lot of adaptations do, by mashing up elements of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There." The thing is that the first book was a game of cards, and the second was a game of chess. Things weren't as random as people think.
Poor White Rabbit; he was my favorite character! I hear that Bill Thompson played the voices for two characters in one movie. Is that why there weren't any performances of either Dodo or the White Rabbit?
Am I the only one who thinks that Kathryn Beaumont’s voice is so satisfying?
Pedophi-
I love her voice she’s just so sweet.
@@sealy1 How do you figure?
I don't know what you mean by "satisfying," but it is certainly a lovely voice, and remarkably cultured for such a young person.

As much as I adore the animation for this film, a live action 50s version would have been delightful too !

@@Thomas_H._Smith Calling nonsense. Mary Pickford was 41 in 1933, entirely too old for the part.
@MaskedMan66 No, it's true. Look it up.
@@Thomas_H._Smith Lots of rubbish can be "looked up." A 41 year-old Alice? Rubbish. Or was she being considered for the role of the Queen of Hearts?
_Alice_ should have been a live-action film; Kathryn was an absolute darling!

Forgive me, but your mom sounds a bit manic.
I appreciate this!
And I thought, it would be like recording a radio play, everyone has the script and reads. And not, that they do a theater scene.
Disney finally made a live-action version 2010.
And now we don't really need them.
And it was terrible
There are many, and far better ones. And unlike the Burton one for Disney, Alice is actually the main character rather than the Mad Hatter.

Walt Disney deve estar muito triste com a rumo que a Disney atual tomou... lamentável... Disney atual está destruindo todo o legado que o cara deixou.
