Thank you. I've been stressed preparing for annual emission test in Virginia due to my check engine light coming on regularly. Your suggestion along with the correct drive cycle procedure worked perfectly for me and I was able to pass my Virginia Emissions Test. My 2005 Lexus RX-330, with 195,000 miles, gets a Check Engine Light regularly with no other problems. Happens once every 400 miles or so. OBD II indicates catalyst Bank One or Two outside specs. I did the following and it worked great after resetting error codes using OBD II device connected to vehicle: 1. Hooked up OBD-II and activated it by turning ignition switch on. Cleared all error codes using OBD II. This resets all emission monitor functions which then requires some specific drive cycle procedures to get the emission control system computer to analyze and record sensors to pass the test. 2. Started car when engine was cold. Let it idle for 3 minutes with A/C full on and rear defroster on. 3. Immediately drove to freeway. 4. Using 1/2 less brisk throttle accelerated to 55mph and cruised at that speed for 4 minutes. 5. Allowed vehicle to slow down without using brakes to 20mph. 6. Immediately accelerated briskly using 2/3 throttle back up to 55mph and cruised at that speed for 4 minutes. 7. Pulled off Interstate and checked my OBD II display to see if all monitors were reading okay. They were. 8. Per your advice, I immediately went to testing station where I passed the annual Virginia emissions test. Very, Very Happy...Thank You.
So doing this. I need to pass and then I can save money to fix my thermostat on my Chevy Spark...mechanic said it was good, but the dam light is on after I changed my battery 2 weeks ago. So glad I seen this. I'll come back and update if it works. Thank u in advance.

I did exactly what you said to do with the exact same issue. Pass smog soon as I pulled away from smog check light came on. Oh yeah and that P0420 code. Was still showing but I passed. Excellent video✅
Happy to help.. We had to do this for 2 years because Maria's Santa Fe ran fine. Just kept getting the light over and over. I kept resetting the light because the Converter repair was close to $1800.. After the 3rd year the repair had to be done as the cat was clogging up.. - Joey
This is a helpful video to understand what monitors need to be set to pass a smog but unless your P0420 code is intermittent, resetting the CEL won’t help. In my case, the code would come back on within driving 2-3 miles of clearing all codes with a OB2 monitor. I kept clearing the code and trying again hoping the light would not come back on one day until I finally used Rislone which did the trick!
It’s a great and reliable video. Was facing this kinda issue back then with my emission test so I had to look for a way, which was how I came across Stray Admin who has got years in experience of helping lots of citizens pass they’re Smog test too
Hi Bernie.. If you have a scanner ($25) cheap one.. what it requires is to reset it (erase the code) - then drive it with scanner connected.. could take 30min or 2-3 days for the monitors to reset.. once you notice it go to just 1 flashing monitor .. you can bring it in to pass smog... its nothing that can be done (5min) the drive cycle has to be done but dont drive too far.. gotta hit that window just right and trick the smog check machine..

@@bernieoh168 yeah what you do is plug it in and run a scan.. it will probably make a red light come on and give you a code.. we need to know that code first. then from there you will erase the code and then the scanner will be in a (YELLOW) not ready state... that is when you will start driving and watching the little black monitors reset 1 by 1.. and you will let it get down to ( ONLY 1) blinking monitor .. this is when you will bring it to a smog station..
I passed my smog test today after following these useful tips and purchasing the scanner. I passed even two monitors were not ready (C+EV) and the check engine alert was still off. There are upto two monitors not ready allowed in our state. Your video is very useful to me.
As an inspector, nobody I mean NOBODY brings their car in early for smog check. Even though I always tell people to come early, the vast majority would rather wait long times and come that last weekend of the month. Then cry when it fails citing they have no time to fix it since it expires in a few days. I tell people to come in the middle of the month to avoid this.
Thats a great scan tool. I had that same one in the case with all the different connectors. I only used the round Lexus connector on an older vehicle a few times.

@ Vegas Dtech -Thank you for the shared info, My 2006 Honda Accord just passed smog, check engine light has been on since November 2021 back when the smog/registration were due, car runs great, no smoke, no hesitations no problems at all, code reads P0420 Catylist System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1, I bought a bottle of CataClean at Walmart on 7/7/22 for $25 dlls (there’s recommended instructions on the back of the bottle) added it to a 1/4 tank of premium gas, drove it for about 10miles the check engine light still on so i parked it, today 7/8/22 drove to work 10miles and back home another 10 miles halfway home the check engine light just went off on its own I didn’t have to clear it with the OBDll scanner device exact time was 9:30am, by this time it’s almost at empty so i refueled to half a tank with premium gasoline, gave it a good drive speeding up to pass 65mph applying the gas pedal hard then just releasing it did that for a couple of times, by then now it’s 10:30am, drove it straight to the smog center to get tested and passed done by 11:00am Now, I drove the car around to run some errands and around midday 12:30 the check engine light came back on, I HAD A WINDOW OF ABOUT 3HRS to take it in and get it done from the time (9:30am) the light went off and It worked…..oh and I also prayed 🙏🏾. Good luck to you all who might be in this situation I pray it works for anyone it’s definitely worth a try before you consider replacing the catalytic converter.
I found a trick that has got me passed 4 times now in 3 different cars that had the P0420 code. You can clear that code by filling the tank with non ethanol gas and driving it around for several days. This has worked for me 4 times now. Once you pass the smog test, just go back to using cheap regular again...
@frederickcampana5717 100%. The cars it worked on were a 2004 Honda CR-V, a 2001 Volvo S40, and a 1999 Honda Accord. The CR-V cat eventually clogged up so bad I had to replace it because of oil burning. It definately does work though.
@@Halakah7 I am checking online and do not have a lot of ethanol free gas in my area. I have a 2005 F150 that requires 87 octane. All I can find is 90 octane. Did you use the recommended octane or did you run a little rich? Just curious.

Recently a man working the counter at a NAPA auto told me there are other products that do the same thing. I think he mentioned Cataclean. Thank you man...i'm going to remove the non-fouler around the corner from the sm0g place and get it smogged. The check engine light should stay off just long enough to pass my truck. :)
Been doing this for a couple years now. problem is the p0430 code comes on more frequently now. Like 2 to 3 times per day, instead of once a week. My new plan is to bolt on new cats, and 02 sensors, pass smog, then immediately bolt the old cats back on. Keep the new cats on shelf for next years inspection. OEM cats are not made anymore, and aftermarket cats are junk that does not last long. It is a crappy situation, having to spend money on new cats year after year. Last set of cats lasted one month. (of course it didnt help that the muffler shop was pounding on them with a sledgehammer to get them to fit right)
Ok my problem is once I clear the code. P0401 it comes back on within 7 miles. It's a 1999 Honda Accors EX 2.3L. I'm guessing since my code is consistant and comes back quickly. This won't work for me?

Joey can you please help me with this. My 07 Mustang won't pass smog, throwing a P0171 & 0174 - Too Lean. I cleared the CEL with my scanner, drove the car around as suggested to cycle the computer, but when I went back to the shop to re-test, they told me that the car still hadn't recycled. I've done this a couple of times, and the CEL always comes back on. Can I borrow your scanner? You can hold mine while I drive around with yours until the green light comes on. PLEASE I need help!!

So, if I understand you right? As long as you drive it a good 15 min. minimum on highway, etc..and the light is still on? I can still pass my Smog? (It's got a Code about a gas cap leak only) that comes on every few couple hundred miles and then turns off by itself!

@@Rickytiger97 The monitors will go into a limp mode or (re learn) mode.. one by one the monitors WILL reset. once it gets to (1) blinking monitor and NO CEL LIGHT on 2001 or older vehicles... car can be returned to smog and tested.. - in Nevada it should gets a pass

It sounds like troubleshooting. Mechanics won’t troubleshoot because the problem might be a quick fix that doesn’t yield much pay. I’ve been driving my dodge around for two years and the light come on and some days it stays off. Car drives great, it’s a charger but it won’t pass the dang test. Thanks for the info
Smog checks are so unfair. It’s a state decision. If it doesn’t apply to everyone then it should not apply to anyone. I’m not judging the idea, just the application. I support annual safety inspection to help keep junk off the road.
I don't know what you did except to plug in that device. How do I delete the codes? I will have to purchase one but I'm not understanding everything you did.
Its a bit complicated if you dont understand OBD2 scanners. O'reilleys or autoZone will do this for you free of charge. Having a scanner like this has helped me pass my Wifes car through smog past 3 years when the check engine light kept coming on.. You have to time it just right but this trick will get you through if your problem is a bad catalytic converter or evap leak
if the cat is bad , no matter how many times u clear the check engine light, it will come back on before it sets. Unless the cat is barely failing and the check engine light goes on and off by itself you have a chance to set it as mentioned on the video . Smog tech for over 15 yrs here Tnx . But there is a illegal way to bypass the p0420 or p0430 cat codes.
@@bradspaugh9827 think the best solution to pass the smog check, is by the following procedure; BUT, if you have a bad cat problem initially preventing you from passing smog check, keep in mind people, your catalytic converter will eventually need to replaced to prevent damage to your engine. This is just a temporary method to try to help pass smog. 1) reset your codes using an obdII 2) remove o2 sensor#2 (Downstream), after cat and maybe clean it while you are at it. 3) install adapter 4) install o2 sensor unto the adapter 5) run your vehicle for 60 miles or more, depending on your vehicle so you can have all onboard monitors ready for smog check & hopefully yo check engine light does not appear. 6) the day/time of your smog check inpection, run your vehicle for at least 4 to 6 miles or more for a warm up. 7) remove o2 sensor (wear gloves & work smart as components will be hot) 8) remove adapter(wear gloves & work smart as components will be hot) as they may visually be inspecting undeneath. 9) re-install o2 sensor without adapter. ( wear gloves & work smart as components will be hot) 10) visit your local smog check station & hopefully it will pass without having the adapter during the test/inspection. Seems like a lot to do but it can be far better than replacing the catalytic converter just to pass smog. Tough times call for desperate measures! Good luck! ✌🕶🔧

Most shops can tell if you have cleared your codes and require you to drive 100 miles by that time the check engine light is back on in my 98 Chevy Tahoe what am I doing wrong ?
Only if the Monitors havent reset. If youhave a code scanner you can keep it plugged in on the seat next to you and drive around until only (1) MONITOR IS LEFT BLINKING . IMMEDIATELY unplug the scanner and bring it in and it will Pass.. At least in Las Vegas - This is the case
Joe, check this out my 09 f150 ce light 02 sencors out of acceptance. Removed exhaust saw only one cadilac was bad, bought new 1 $240 had it installed $ 150 returned the core $200 back. Total cost $190.00
I tried this but after an hour my check engine lights comes back on and when I reset it. The cat, o2 sensor, and Evap have an X on them even though I did it. So I guess when I reset the check engine it also resets the other three I just mentioned.

What about the code P0456, EVAP System Leak Detected (very small leak). Will car pass smog test, I had disconnected the batt for 3 days and no code so far, but it's store as permanent.
well this is just a "try to sneak past smog" If you have a small leak.. The check engine light will keep coming back on until that leak is fixed . However the scanner can reset your light "temporarily" and allow you a chance to quickly run it through smog as long as you do a drive cycle and get the monitors down to ONLY 1... and light remains off.... you have a chance to pass - even if its only for a 5 minute window.. Thats all you need is a PASSING test and paper!
My truck is a 2004 f-150 and it runs smooth with no problems but it does not pass the smog they told me it was electrical problem. Will your method help??
Unfortunately an electrical wiring problem is not an emmission issue.. the trick i show is helpful if your problem is a emission/ catalytic converter problem.
it varies from car to car.. just watch the blinking monitors.. when only (1) monitor is blinking and its still yellow .. you can usually pass smog right then.. normally it will turn green after a quick run on the freeway and around 15min of stop and go city driving
I have a 2013 honda civic exl and put a downpipe and the engine lights comes on i have to register it this 12/17 ;( i hope this works my question is can the small device delete the code? And after that just drive it 30mins and check again then smog? Thanks
Did you delete the cat? if you deleted the cat it will pop the light on.. The hand scanner will delete the code yes.. but your car will then be in a "not ready" state untill all 5 of the blinking monitors reset.. Different cars require different drive cycle times to be ready for smog.. but most down pipes usually delete the cat which will immediately make your check engine light turn on..

@@FinalBoss4u depends on the car.. each car has a different drive cycle .. some are hard some are easy.. my toyota and wifes Santa fe computer will reset on average in an hour of driving. Some cars can take weeks! Smog checks SUCK and check engine lights for emission can make you want to sell your car.. such a headache.
@@FinalBoss4u Now there is a law that as long as 400 dollars worth of work was done to fix your check engine light at a "certified shop" like Firestone" they will give you a passing waiver good for 1 year to get it fixed...
no unplug.. I just delete the codes and drive for lie 30 min with scanner plugged in.. as each monitor sets i wait until only the evap monitor is blinking and bring it right in to smog.. They pass me and then 15 min later the Check engine light comes back on but i already have a passing smog so im good for another year

Folks, this basically means that your car is NOT READY to do a smog check, because the computer and the catalytic converter do not have enough data to evaluate your emission system. So, EVERY car has a drive cycle to make sure the car is ready to do a smog check, basically the I/M monitor stuff. Look up for your car's drive cycle's procedure. See ruclips.net/video/jldTJI64cfM/видео.html as an example.! This happened on *my* Honda Accord. When I turned on the car *WITHOUT* starting the engine, I waited to see if the check engine light BLINKS FIVE TIMES and then stops and turns off. If that happens, it means that the car's emission system is not ready for the smog check. I started the engine and the defroster both front and back and let the car idle for 3 minutes. Then I took it for a drive on the highway at EXACTLY the speed of 55mph for 4-5 minutes. I did this by setting the cruise control speed to 55mph and stayed on the right lane -- the slow lane. After that, I eased down the car to 20mph by existing the highway. That's the Honda Accord drive cycle. The check engine light stopped blinking and is off. HOWEVER, if your check engine light blinks *WHILE* your car is being driven, then it means serious problems with the car!
I watched this video for my 2015 Toyota Corolla and it did not work it turned out to be my car needed an original Toyota Corolla gas cap $ 33 and it passed.
The gas cap is the first thing that should be checked.. This is for more serious emission issues that cost $2000 to pass a smog. If you cant afford to pay a shop $2000 .. This is how you can get through smog and renew your registration and save up for next year..
I can give you advice on how to do it.. Ive helped many people pass the pesky smog test using the OBD scanner.. Its all about timing it just right.. after 3 years of playing this game .. we just decided to take my wifes car in and have the catalytic converter replaced at a honest family run shop.. cost $1100.. Firestone quoted me $4000 for the same job... dont let them rip you off

@@VegasDtech I figured the problem was my car is far too messed up for this trick. Wasted a lot of gas but helpful video nonetheless. It says catalytic converter as well as some misfires with other parts of the car. System too lean as well 🥲. My car hasn’t passed smog for a very last time and tomorrow may be the last day i ever drive it because i can’t get it registered :(. I’m also from Vegas btw haha
@@hectown2657 Yeah man it sounds like your car needs some coil packs minimum.. This trick worked for my wifes Hyundai santa fe for 3 years in a row... But this year i decided to just fix the Catalytic converter because wife complained her car was now driving poorly.. and check engine light keeps coming back on week after week. Firestone quoted me a ridiculous $4100 bill.... I ended up bringing it to a family repair shop and paying $1065 - Yeah man sadly if the repair cost more then the car is worth.. id consider selling it and finding something else ( start over)

Happy to help.. We had to do this for 2 years because Maria's Santa Fe ran fine. Just kept getting the light over and over. I kept resetting the light because the Converter repair was close to $1800.. After the 3rd year the repair had to be done as the cat was clogging up.. - Joey

This is a helpful video to understand what monitors need to be set to pass a smog but unless your P0420 code is intermittent, resetting the CEL won’t help. In my case, the code would come back on within driving 2-3 miles of clearing all codes with a OB2 monitor. I kept clearing the code and trying again hoping the light would not come back on one day until I finally used Rislone which did the trick!

Hi Bernie.. If you have a scanner ($25) cheap one.. what it requires is to reset it (erase the code) - then drive it with scanner connected.. could take 30min or 2-3 days for the monitors to reset.. once you notice it go to just 1 flashing monitor .. you can bring it in to pass smog... its nothing that can be done (5min) the drive cycle has to be done but dont drive too far.. gotta hit that window just right and trick the smog check machine..

I passed my smog test today after following these useful tips and purchasing the scanner. I passed even two monitors were not ready (C+EV) and the check engine alert was still off. There are upto two monitors not ready allowed in our state. Your video is very useful to me.

As an inspector, nobody I mean NOBODY brings their car in early for smog check. Even though I always tell people to come early, the vast majority would rather wait long times and come that last weekend of the month. Then cry when it fails citing they have no time to fix it since it expires in a few days. I tell people to come in the middle of the month to avoid this.
Thats a great scan tool. I had that same one in the case with all the different connectors. I only used the round Lexus connector on an older vehicle a few times.

I bought a bottle of CataClean at Walmart on 7/7/22 for $25 dlls (there’s recommended instructions on the back of the bottle) added it to a 1/4 tank of premium gas, drove it for about 10miles the check engine light still on so i parked it, today 7/8/22 drove to work 10miles and back home another 10 miles halfway home the check engine light just went off on its own I didn’t have to clear it with the OBDll scanner device exact time was 9:30am, by this time it’s almost at empty so i refueled to half a tank with premium gasoline, gave it a good drive speeding up to pass 65mph applying the gas pedal hard then just releasing it did that for a couple of times, by then now it’s 10:30am, drove it straight to the smog center to get tested and passed done by 11:00am
Now, I drove the car around to run some errands and around midday 12:30 the check engine light came back on, I HAD A WINDOW OF ABOUT 3HRS to take it in and get it done from the time (9:30am) the light went off and It worked…..oh and I also prayed 🙏🏾.

I found a trick that has got me passed 4 times now in 3 different cars that had the P0420 code. You can clear that code by filling the tank with non ethanol gas and driving it around for several days. This has worked for me 4 times now. Once you pass the smog test, just go back to using cheap regular again...

@frederickcampana5717 100%. The cars it worked on were a 2004 Honda CR-V, a 2001 Volvo S40, and a 1999 Honda Accord. The CR-V cat eventually clogged up so bad I had to replace it because of oil burning. It definately does work though.
@@Halakah7 I am checking online and do not have a lot of ethanol free gas in my area. I have a 2005 F150 that requires 87 octane. All I can find is 90 octane. Did you use the recommended octane or did you run a little rich? Just curious.

Been doing this for a couple years now. problem is the p0430 code comes on more frequently now. Like 2 to 3 times per day, instead of once a week. My new plan is to bolt on new cats, and 02 sensors, pass smog, then immediately bolt the old cats back on. Keep the new cats on shelf for next years inspection. OEM cats are not made anymore, and aftermarket cats are junk that does not last long. It is a crappy situation, having to spend money on new cats year after year. Last set of cats lasted one month. (of course it didnt help that the muffler shop was pounding on them with a sledgehammer to get them to fit right)
Ok my problem is once I clear the code. P0401 it comes back on within 7 miles. It's a 1999 Honda Accors EX 2.3L. I'm guessing since my code is consistant and comes back quickly. This won't work for me?

I cleared the CEL with my scanner, drove the car around as suggested to cycle the computer, but when I went back to the shop to re-test, they told me that the car still hadn't recycled. Wouldn’t your smog monitors not work once you clear the codes?
@@Rickytiger97 The monitors will go into a limp mode or (re learn) mode.. one by one the monitors WILL reset. once it gets to (1) blinking monitor and NO CEL LIGHT on 2001 or older vehicles... car can be returned to smog and tested.. - in Nevada it should gets a pass

It sounds like troubleshooting. Mechanics won’t troubleshoot because the problem might be a quick fix that doesn’t yield much pay. I’ve been driving my dodge around for two years and the light come on and some days it stays off. Car drives great, it’s a charger but it won’t pass the dang test. Thanks for the info

Smog checks are so unfair. It’s a state decision. If it doesn’t apply to everyone then it should not apply to anyone. I’m not judging the idea, just the application. I support annual safety inspection to help keep junk off the road.
I don't know what you did except to plug in that device. How do I delete the codes? I will have to purchase one but I'm not understanding everything you did.
Its a bit complicated if you dont understand OBD2 scanners. O'reilleys or autoZone will do this for you free of charge. Having a scanner like this has helped me pass my Wifes car through smog past 3 years when the check engine light kept coming on.. You have to time it just right but this trick will get you through if your problem is a bad catalytic converter or evap leak

if the cat is bad , no matter how many times u clear the check engine light, it will come back on before it sets. Unless the cat is barely failing and the check engine light goes on and off by itself you have a chance to set it as mentioned on the video . Smog tech for over 15 yrs here Tnx .

@@bradspaugh9827 think the best solution to pass the smog check, is by the following procedure; BUT, if you have a bad cat problem initially preventing you from passing smog check, keep in mind people, your catalytic converter will eventually need to replaced to prevent damage to your engine. This is just a temporary method to try to help pass smog.
1) reset your codes using an obdII
2) remove o2 sensor#2 (Downstream), after cat and maybe clean it while you are at it.
3) install adapter
4) install o2 sensor unto the adapter
5) run your vehicle for 60 miles or more, depending on your vehicle so you can have all onboard monitors ready for smog check & hopefully yo check engine light does not appear.
6) the day/time of your smog check inpection, run your vehicle for at least 4 to 6 miles or more for a warm up.
7) remove o2 sensor (wear gloves & work smart as components will be hot)
8) remove adapter(wear gloves & work smart as components will be hot) as they may visually be inspecting undeneath.
9) re-install o2 sensor without adapter. ( wear gloves & work smart as components will be hot)
10) visit your local smog check station & hopefully it will pass without having the adapter during the test/inspection.
Seems like a lot to do but it can be far better than replacing the catalytic converter just to pass smog. Tough times call for desperate measures!

Only if the Monitors havent reset. If youhave a code scanner you can keep it plugged in on the seat next to you and drive around until only (1) MONITOR IS LEFT BLINKING . IMMEDIATELY unplug the scanner and bring it in and it will Pass.. At least in Las Vegas - This is the case

Joe, check this out my 09 f150 ce light 02 sencors out of acceptance.
Removed exhaust saw only one cadilac was bad, bought new 1 $240 had it installed $ 150 returned the core $200 back. Total cost $190.00
I tried this but after an hour my check engine lights comes back on and when I reset it. The cat, o2 sensor, and Evap have an X on them even though I did it. So I guess when I reset the check engine it also resets the other three I just mentioned.
Just change the 02 sensors bro.

What about the code P0456, EVAP System Leak Detected (very small leak).
Will car pass smog test, I had disconnected the batt for 3 days and no code so far, but it's store as permanent.
well this is just a "try to sneak past smog" If you have a small leak.. The check engine light will keep coming back on until that leak is fixed . However the scanner can reset your light "temporarily" and allow you a chance to quickly run it through smog as long as you do a drive cycle and get the monitors down to ONLY 1... and light remains off.... you have a chance to pass - even if its only for a 5 minute window.. Thats all you need is a PASSING test and paper!

Unfortunately an electrical wiring problem is not an emmission issue.. the trick i show is helpful if your problem is a emission/ catalytic converter problem.

Your electrical problem is a broken wire ,or un plugged sensor, or bad connect, bad wire connection, check wiring harness & system thourghly

it varies from car to car.. just watch the blinking monitors.. when only (1) monitor is blinking and its still yellow .. you can usually pass smog right then.. normally it will turn green after a quick run on the freeway and around 15min of stop and go city driving

Did you delete the cat? if you deleted the cat it will pop the light on.. The hand scanner will delete the code yes.. but your car will then be in a "not ready" state untill all 5 of the blinking monitors reset.. Different cars require different drive cycle times to be ready for smog.. but most down pipes usually delete the cat which will immediately make your check engine light turn on..

@@FinalBoss4u depends on the car.. each car has a different drive cycle .. some are hard some are easy.. my toyota and wifes Santa fe computer will reset on average in an hour of driving. Some cars can take weeks! Smog checks SUCK and check engine lights for emission can make you want to sell your car.. such a headache.

Folks, this basically means that your car is NOT READY to do a smog check, because the computer and the catalytic converter do not have enough data to evaluate your emission system. So, EVERY car has a drive cycle to make sure the car is ready to do a smog check, basically the I/M monitor stuff. Look up for your car's drive cycle's procedure. This happened on *my* Honda Accord. When I turned on the car *WITHOUT* starting the engine, I waited to see if the check engine light BLINKS FIVE TIMES and then stops and turns off. If that happens, it means that the car's emission system is not ready for the smog check. I started the engine and the defroster both front and back and let the car idle for 3 minutes. Then I took it for a drive on the highway at EXACTLY the speed of 55mph for 4-5 minutes. I did this by setting the cruise control speed to 55mph and stayed on the right lane -- the slow lane. After that, I eased down the car to 20mph by existing the highway. That's the Honda Accord drive cycle. The check engine light stopped blinking and is off.
HOWEVER, if your check engine light blinks *WHILE* your car is being driven, then it means serious problems with the car!
I watched this video for my 2015 Toyota Corolla and it did not work it turned out to be my car needed an original Toyota Corolla gas cap $ 33 and it passed.
The gas cap is the first thing that should be checked.. This is for more serious emission issues that cost $2000 to pass a smog. If you cant afford to pay a shop $2000 .. This is how you can get through smog and renew your registration and save up for next year..

It says catalytic converter as well as some misfires with other parts of the car. System too lean as well 🥲.
