Hi Alex, I'm from Nicaragua, Central America, as a Spanish Speaker I would like to thank you for all your videos lessons. It has helped me a lot and I have improved my listening. Currently I watch your videos without subtitles because I understand every word you say. Thanks a lot again Alex. Take care.
thank you so much for this, man i had this "project" where im supposed to explain this to my fellow students, i decided to do an animation but i didnt know where to start, but you helped me, a lot
It´s a great video, Alex know how to explain the topic, it´s easy to understand and it has many examples. I thinks the video it´s a little bit to long for such an easy topic. :) :) :) :)
nice..Today was the last day of school..actually the last is goes for present prefect tense right..and also today..then how we used this with past tense sir..
Hello teacher. It was a great lesson and I thank you very much, but I have a question. Do we use this same structure to talk about future plans related to now that were canceled? I have some examples about what I mean bellow. 1) Imagine I am going to travel to Canada next month and my uncle invited me to visit him next month so I say 'Sorry, I can't travel to you house because I am going to travel to Canada next month' But now (which is not next month yet), for some reason all flights to Canda were cancelled. So in this situation I call to my uncle and say: 'I was going to travel to Canada next month, but all the flights were canceled, so I can go to your house' Is correct to say about that plan to the future related to now that was cancelled 'I was going to travel to Canada...' ? 2) Imagine my friend invited me to his birthday party next week, but can't go because I have a business traveling so I say him: 'Sorry, I can't go to your birthday party next wee because I am traveling next week'. However, after I say that to my friend, for some reason, my business traveling was canceled. So, I call to my friend now and say 'I was traveling next week, but it was canceled. I can go to your birthday party next week' ---- So, is correct use the same structure explained in the video to talk about future plans related to now that was canceled? The most important sentences about what I mean are bellow. I ask that because I've found on the internet only explanations about the future in the past but not explantions about future plans related to now that were canceled. 'I was going to travel to Canada next month, but all the flights were canceled, so I can go to your house' 'I was traveling next week, but it was canceled. I can go to your birthday party next week' Thank you very much from Brazil
Hi guys! My name is Magy, I'm from Guatemala and currently I'm learning English... I would like to know which should be correct use of was/were as a posibility, 'cause I'm getting confused. For example, a friend of mine told me today:" I wish it WERE true" but I quickly thought: is that correct? To me the correct way to say it should be: I wish it WAS true.. Please we need your help! Thanks a lot!
I wish it were true. Is correct . This is called the unreal condition. When u talk about things not real or not possible u use the past . Regarding the verb Be we usually use were instead of was even if the subject is I or she or he etc.. But in a casual conversation u can say I wish it was true . No problem. But if u want to grammatically correct than use were .😊
what if i just plan to do a short course .i have a full intention of doing it d em saving money too.so what should i use I am going to do a short vourse in july or i will do a short course in july.. plz explain
It's never a bad idea to learn something new or to strengthen something you already know. If you're interested in taking a short course, I say go for it. The worst thing that can happen is that you'll learn something. :D

Is it the same with will/would? For example: "She says they will win", became "She said they would win, but they didn't"
Thank you very much,
Michele
nice..Today was the last day of school..actually the last is goes for present prefect tense right..and also today..then how we used this with past tense sir..
It works with past simple too. “The last time I saw him, he was working for a different company.”
Thank you l like your class
I knew you were going to be awesome
Nice teacher !! . Can you teach about tense sequence plz..
It is way easier for students to understand the use, by saying: "past intentions" rather than "future in the past".
You' re amazing Man!!!
Thanks, that great, easy to understand
very helpful
thx Alex
Good video, thank you! But there is one question still on my mind. How do we put this into reported speech? Which tense to we have to shift here?
Sir.. Can u please come with subjective with all Tenses in new video...
@xNzzyz no, that was the marker cap
Thank you teacher
thanks for this lesson
Thanks Alex Excellent lesson, why dont you make more phrasal verbs videos? I would like to see more of that, because most Americans talk like that.
I've got more phrasal verbs lessons coming in the near future. :)

I got 10 out of 1o for this lesson for first try :))
THANK YOU VERY MUCH :)
Thanks.
I was going to study business, but I changed my mind
Thank you.
Alex: ¿Why some people say "I were" instead of "I was"? Like the song "if I were a boy"
eldedogordo "were" is a bit more formal. "Was" is informal.
Hi Alex I found some sentence like this: 1973 WOULD SEE THE RELEASE OF THE HIT FILM….. is this a future in the past?
very good.
in conditional, it is an exception ... which means instead of saying I was, u say I were. and that is just in conditional ... otherwise, u use I was
It was great thanks
